    Lou, In my opinion one of the most handsome of the muscle cars. And, with the 351 Cleveland one of the most streetable. Terrific all-'rounder!

    Damn i bought a 1970 torino GT in 1979 it was maroon and had a 429. I was 15. Had a permit. $700 bucks. It had bad paint from a house fire. So i painted it black. Otherwise mint condition. I had it till i was 21. Then gave it to my best friend. He kinda trashed it but offered it back to me when my son was 15. I was then 40. To many memories so i turned it down. Been wanting one ever since. Hard to find. Love seeing this car. I had the louvers and honeycomb lights but a different grill. Maybe i will find one some day and buy it.

    I'm always impressed to see these early 70's Torino's restored. They were notorious for the body panels rotting. He did a great job. Love Torinos, a 1975 was my first car.

    Love this car Lou. I mentioned before that as a youth I collected auto brochures and factory price lists for cars between 66 and 80. I do not remember spinners being offered on the Mag 500 wheels
    I love their look...perhaps it was an aftermarket accessory. Also love the optional laser stripe that was offered on the Torino GTs.

    I've got an identical car...but it's a Ranchero GT...Calypso coral,351 4V, hideaway headlights. It's a bit beat up but COMPLETELY
    original(paint and stripes,interior,motor and trans,etc.). It's faded and tattered and suspension is about shot. Motor and trans are
    still very strong and have never been apart. Yes,it's still driven.

    This is a very nice Ford! That idle is awesome. Thanks, Lou. I still miss the 1971 Ford Galaxy I got free in the early 90s. After a cheap engine rebuild on the 400M we ran it up to over 320,000 miles. It was rusty, had actually been totaled twice, and needed a lot of work, so was junked in Dec.2007. In January of 2017 we got a letter from the police in Austin, Texas wanting us to pay a fine, because it had blown through a toll booth on the freeway without paying! The Wisconsin collector plates were still on the car! Old Fords don’t die, they just keep going faster.

    Why would the outlaw the spinners? It doesn't get much better than bucket seats console, louvers, spoiler and hide-away lights. Are the louvers being reproduce? I heard that they're incredably rare.

    • @loucostabile
      @loucostabile  6 років тому +1

      The story (as I understand it) regarding the "spinners" is that they could fly off the car in an accident and become a weapon. I've never heard of anyone being killed by one. Not sure how difficult it is to find louvers.

    I really prefer the rear side glass styling of these over the Mercury Cyclone or regular Torino. The edgier? (is that a word) styling of these has really grown on me over the years and much prefer these to the Chevelles of the same year. You just never see these cars especially in this color.

    LOU!! WHOOSH....WHOOSH>>>>and you jump up and catch my projectile floppy sneakers like a cross between our heroes Bruce Lee and Jose Cruz, man lol 🤣🤪!!! My superhero big bro righ there, man. Ha! You could put a baby to sleep with that aweosme exhaust? No doubt, and definitely a KNOCKOUT😵😵 sleep for a chick-craaazzzzzy lightweight Robin-type guy named JV Johnny. Ya better rescue me before one of The Penguin's henchmen comes along and throws me over his shoulder and carries me off, my tubesocked stocking feet dangling, Lou lol 😂😜!! On the day beofre my 53rd birthday (how did THAT happen?! lol 😂I still think I'm a kid!), this AWESOMELY hot and badass Ford Torino is a gift, man. That front end-sinister, love the tail and the orange color. Just made for a boyhood teenage superhero, you know?! I love it, man. Rich is a perfect caretaker to this car, humble and quietly confident. Thanks for the gifts of your awesome videos, big brother. It has been a joy to me and knocks me outta my floppy sneakers EVERY time🤪. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Lou! JV Johnny ⚾⚾

    I have a 1971 Torino GT/ Cobra with the 351 Cleveland Bright Red with Black interior with 79,600 original miles. Just curious if you ever go to Myrtle Beach SC to the Run to the Sun Car Show it starts this Thursday March 16th and goes through Friday 18th. I will be there along with 3,500 other beautiful cars. I love your channel by the way one of the few channels that I have found with awesome ford's on it .
