- After lots of tedious work by both Danger Dan and guest wrench Jimmy Oakes, our favorite worst car in the fleet is almost ready to hit the dyno!! We wrap up some final odds and ends to get it solid for hitting the rollers, then maybe a little hoon session in the Burnyard... but that's for next time.

It's not that uncommon, my buddy's dad taught us that when we were kids he (was)a big rig mechanic but he had a ton of knowledge and small tips like this that whether he would have admitted it or not I'm like 99.9% sure he found enjoyment on passing it on to the youth and then bust oue balls that wr didn't know it already .....he was an awesome dude to be honset

I don't know how those wiring guys do it. I'm a journeyman commercial electrician. I routinely wire incredibly complex, million dollar industrial process control systems and proprietary commercial fire alarm, security, access control, etc. systems. I LOATHE car wiring and electrical diagnostics. Splicing into factory harnesses and adapting aftermarket or other manufacturers' equipment to operate with car ecus, etc. is an absolute nightmare. You guys are geniuses, haha! Super happy to see Shitcar living and breathing again, keep up the good work!

that track in the start with doing the throttle cable etc was straight fire!
Stock E36 rads tend to struggle with E36s, so a lot of European drift guys actually fit aftermarket S14 SR radiators to their E36 as the in and outlet are very close. Might be worth considering when this thing is overheating every 30 seconds
We’re going to test the factory radiator, and if it doesn’t work out we might have to steal a S14 radiator from vin.

Using the wire off the back of the coilpack harness usually throws off the ignition pickup. Best way is to remove the coilpack and use a spark plug after the coilpack..

Why does there need to be resistance on the alt?
The light circuit is often used to provide some initial field current to get the alternator to begin working. The light was also typically paralleled with a resistor to increase the current and protect against just such a failure from happening. Also, most alternators will hold enough residual magnetism that a rev of the engine will still turn them on.
