As an owner of a Rotary I can confirm lol. Putting in an FD RX7's engine in my RX8 and it's a money pit but I'm committed. SR20 would be the better option here
SR20 to ZF320 5 Speed with the PMC Adapter kit. Stock driveline from trans back, bolt on SR20, make engine mounts, wiring, and upgrades. Good to go again.

SR20's are garbage, 13b's are garbage, S50's aren't bad but aren't as good as a LS reliability wise and super expensive for parts so LS is the logical choice... Put a small turbo so it spools super fast or a big turbo and use the nitrous to spool the turbo

Swap on the S50!! There’s already an LS bmw in the shop, there’s a ton of rotary stuff on the channel as Brian said, and nobody wants to listen to Nads yap every time the SR20 starts. The S50 would be cool and different
You want something simple and powerful to rip around the burnyard, 13B would be the most interesting of the bunch but either the LS or the SR will get you in the thing. My vote goes to the SR and a big boi turbo.

I didn't know the LS was that small. I've never seen one laid out beside a 4-cylinder. It's barely bigger than a SR20 but way smaller than that 6 cylinder. Crazy small for the for the amount of available displacement.

i would choose S65 V8 from E92 M3 GTS. It has 450HP at stock and it isnt overused + has pretty good sound. Think about it IF it's avaiable in your country with a good price.

If you wont be S50 swapping it.. then give the people what they want and do the 13b swap. Even though a Supercharged/turbo s50 would be super dope, it's been done a bunch of times. 13b e36 however.. proabably can count em on my hands.

Sr for sure. Lighter, smaller, easier to work on and reliable. I agree with Dans Nissan/Toyota for any engine swap.
I initially advocated for the S50 but after hearing Scotto and Dan's arguments against it I think I can get behind the SR20.

I vote cheap but done right turbo ls. With Dan's fab work it'd be the most "shit" but good.
It's honestly the only option. ShitCar was meant to be minimal cost. LS is the way to go. Can't find parts for a 13B/SR20/S50 at any Autozone or O'Reilly's but you can for an LS.
13b it'll be perfect the brapps will sound like farts hence the name shit car.
