Hi there, thanks for some very informative videos and it's nice to get some local tips and advice. as I also live in the Vaal actually within 5-8km from living seeds farm (I didn't know). I just harvested my crop of approximately 150 garlic, quite chuffed with the results. Last year onions were great. Just watch the Potatoe video, have a different strategy as I use grow bags from Magics that work well for me. My goal is to produce my own home-grown potatoes all year round. But watching your videos have answered many qquestions to challenges i have experience over the past two years. Can't wait for your next open day so I can visit.
Thanks for the great performance. I think it is also time for you to start breeding potato varieties yourself. To get ideas, I cover the whole process on my channel. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Most home gardeners do not have the correct equipment to properly cure potatoes. 1) if they are grown in late summer and you are in a summer rainfall area, they are best stored in the soil and lifted in batches as needed. 2) if you must lift them all at one then do so. Don’t wash and store in clean paper bags in as cool a place as possible. Naturally consume any that are damaged first.
great thanks, i gleaned over both your videos so many times but couldnt find anything on mulching, unless i missed something? So straw about 10cm? @@LivingseedsFarm

Do you guys mulch over your potato beds, like you do garlic?
Absolutely.
The potatoes will thank you for stable soil moisture and cooler growing conditions.

also, what is the normal spacing at planting. I bought a pack of hudsons from your online store @@LivingseedsFarm
@@iekmoloiyup 10cm of straw is a great depth to mulch.
