In the Western Cape my winter veg garden is always the best. My summer garden not so much. I still grow a lot but it's not as abundant as our sun is very hot and our soil is sand.
Thank you for the great advice I have a small back yard garden please tell me from planting to harvesting garlic how many months awaiting thank you God bless you
Only a pleasure. Planting is Feb to early April. Harvest starts in late October early November through to December. Each variety has a slightly different maturity.
Thankyou for your informative video. I see this video was posted a month ago. Today is the 18 May 2023, is it too late to plant a winter vegetable garden now? Which vegetables can I still get a crop from if I plant seeds in the next few days? Thankyou and God bless.
It’s never too late to start a food garden. Please have a look at this link. We have planting guides for various areas and what you can plant at various times. livingseeds.co.za/extension/module/download/download
That is a perfect option. Just make sure it was not sprayed with roundup. You can also order cover crops here. www.livingseeds.co.za/vegetable-seeds/green-manures
@LivingseedsFarm ok. So this is just like covering like the straw, pecan nuts, "boombas". I have thought the link you have posted is only for when I am not planting for bacteria in the bed. We also are in the Western part of the Northern Cape which we get winter rain.

@@LivingseedsFarm Thankyou for your prompt reply.
In my area, Northern Cape, there are not really any ground covers available. Can I get a hay bale and use it as a ground cover?
That is a perfect option.
Just make sure it was not sprayed with roundup.
You can also order cover crops here.
