Hi how is this for the lady I do all my hole my self but for ladys gardening has taken it till on my hands is there easier one for ladys 😊
It’s not that difficult with the punch.
If you struggle ask you neighbour or a friend to help you out ti set it up.
Hi, do you drip irrigate straight from seed planting, or only after seeds have sprouted?
Correct. We only use drip. Right from seeding.
The only crop we use supplemental watering is carrots.
I am planning to buy one of your drip kits. Ome of the things that is not mentioned in the videos, is the distance between the drip tape?? So on a bed that measures 1 meter wide, how many strips of drip tape should be placed on the bed?
Albert on a 1m wide bed I’d run 2 lines 330 apart.
But you are close enough to pop in and have a chat and actually see various options based on crops.
The cool thing is you can add and remove line depending on what you are growing.
To remove a line just cut the drip tape short (10cm) and leave a stop end on. That will blank off the line.
@@LivingseedsFarm thank you. I will definitely pop in some time. All my beds does not run parallel to each other, so I will need some advice in how to plan and do the setup and also see exactly what the needs and exepses will be.
Having problems with mine. Running a pump with pressure control from rain harvesting tanks. Wont work with pump know its to high pressure and turning valve a bit closed also doesnt work pump just switches on and off every few seconds . Gravity feed also doesnt work my tanks arent high enough probably so this wont work for everyone. If anyone had similar experience please share how you made it work. Thank you
Consider using a pull pump for your irrigation.
Was wondering about this as I would have the same problem with my water storage and pump system. Would love to have drip irrigation.
@@samanthabarris8309 if you cant have a elevated tank as memtioned in video dont buy it. I have and it doesnt work with closing valve slightly on pump and using municipal water is not a option defeats the purpose of harvesting rain water. If you can get that pressure then buy it for sure because it does work that way.
Had same problem with my pressure pump which would constantly switch on/off if tap closed somewhat. I bought a 370W Ingco centrifugal pump to handle it and working great. No blowing out stopper ends when using it on 10x10m field. Also have their pump control on it, when I use pump for other things, and that does not turn the pump off under this use case like my regular pressure pump is doing.
😂
Thank you Sean, I now need to invest in the head punch as my screwdriver does not work. I just bought a pressure valve, which is a pricey but good investment, as I am not allowed to raise the unsightly tank 3m.❤🤗🙏
Yup. If you don’t have a clean hole it will never make a good seal.
Thanx Shaun
Thank you so much. You are amazing 👉
Only a pleasure
Well done Sean 👏
What about land that is sloped?
If the emitter emits 1l per hour, how often should you water and for how long?
Sloped land is no issue at all. Almost all of our land is sloped.
Just run your beds/lines across the slope.
Great content as always guys.
Much appreciated!
Thanks for this Sean
Very welcome
I like it 😊
We love it :)
Any info or comparison to soaker hoses?
Unfortunately not. I have no experience with soaker hoses.
@LivingseedsFarm thanks, I'm giving them a try at home, seems less finicky but expensive. I can't imagine what it would cost on a large scale.
Question, given that the water is a bit below the surface, does it matter what time of day you water?
And can you water in different zones throughout the day?
Really enjoying your content. :)
Nope not at all. There is very minimal evaporation. We water at all times of the day.
A fanastic presentation Shaun. How do you adjust the length when the planting space changes with different crop requirements if you are using the same irrigation line? Do you make new holes and close the old holes up?
Thank you Waheed.
The drip pipes are not adjustable.
However we often add or reduce the number of lines per bed.
Just leave a head connection in with a small piece of drop pipe and a stop end to keep the hole in the sub line closed.
Ah That is the best!!! Thanks Sean at Livingseeds. Love you guys!
Thank you Gail.
How do you know when you have watered enough? Do you use a moisture probe?
We run the for 2-3 hours as needed. No meter required just your your finger /experience.
AG, BAIE DANKIE, MAN!
