Hi buddy. Your videos are very educative. Am getting ready to start doing flatbed. Driving for 22 years but never did flatbed. Keep up the great work and be safe!
Randee...have to give a lot of Professional-Credit for driving up and down those single ramps...the guy is real good at what he does...Got all those rims all shined-up standing-tall ready for inspection.
Appreciate the videos keep them coming. I'm learning a lot from you in a lot of the other guys as posting flatbed videos. And the next time you come home hit me up I'm in Fort Worth to I would like to purchase some of your extra equipment. And probably get a few pointers from you
Randee Lewis cool I still appreciate all the knowledge and the videos. If you know of anyone or any leads on the equipment I would need feel free to let me know Landstar really don't tell you what all you need. I'm new to the flatbed industry and I will be starting with Landstar in a couple of weeks so any pointers will be greatly appreciated
Kind of odd that Loomis hired a contractor to deliver the trucks to PA. These companies often have their own tractor trailers. Unless they didn't have a skateboard of their own? Could have driven it up there as well. Isn't far from VA to PA
The security clearance level you get also helps as they are less likely to use you for a job like this if you have a colorful history. A good record for both yourself and work gives you access to better paying loads. Yes not fare on those that made mistakes in their youth but it happens.
+Sam Pipitone just make sure u study and pay attention to everything and take notes to remember hard things..just ask a bunch of questions n make sure u understand how to do things n don't be nervous on test day
+BAKER53016 yes and no..yes because it has all the setup I need..chain pockets..container locks..n ramps plus it's 53 ft with sliding axle..only negative is it sits to high..I've lost out on couple loads because of it..low pro setup works better I think..all in all I would recommend it it's great trailer
What technique you use when making left and right turns especially right turns do you watch your rear tires of the tractor enter the intersection and then start to turn the wheel or you wait until the trailer tires are almost near the bend of the curve and then start to turn the wheel which is your technique that's you use to make right turns
look i am retired Truck Driver and Iam at home a lot now a days and I do enjoy your videos they are informative and you seem to have a very smart head on your shoulders. I am sure that people from the Company you are employed by also look at your videos and I am sure they have many good things to say about you..so just keep on keepin on ok Randee.... And you may call me Allen if that is ok...Keep the shinny side up ok Driver.
Randee Lewis I got a load right out but it's od. I've never done any I always try to avoid them ...fingers crossed I got the permits and stuff right. Loads only 800 lbs. But 10 feet wide
Furthermore that is crap about security clearance I was one of the first convicted felons to obtain a twice card, I have hauled military tanks like Abrams as well as strikes that where still armed and had not been de commissioned as well as going into the Norfolk submarine base as well as the base in Groton CT. Area 51 as well, the only time security clearances matter is when hauling currency or going into a us mint or any situation. Where they want armored transport or armed drivers, being my bad criminal history it is illegal for me to possess firearms but I have hauled loads of firearms in van trailers as well like smih and Wesson out of mass. And Ruger out of Prescott az. And never had a issue, don't keep drinking that company Kool aid bullshit you may have been fed at prime
if you oil them binders they won't rap around on you like that when you tighten them i've been both a flatbed driver and armored truck driver.. armored trucks are pieces of shit

great video as usual. how would you run the chains without the chain pockets? thanks
+Alexandra Barry no other way but go to the run rail somewhere
Randee. Everyone seems to say that flatbedders make more money.
Does geography have anything to do with it or is it pretty much across the board.
+Larry fisher it just depends on what ur hauling really
The security clearance level you get also helps as they are less likely to use you for a job like this if you have a colorful history.

+Andrew H that's true man
You are doing great. Good videos. I am trying to get in to prime to get my CDL a. Any advice? I am a little guy I think refri. is good for me.?
+Sam Pipitone just make sure u study and pay attention to everything and take notes to remember hard things..just ask a bunch of questions n make sure u understand how to do things n don't be nervous on test day
Question, are most of the runs partnered?
+Sam Pipitone no I am a solo driver
Are the drivers at prime primarily solo or team drivers? You have a great evening.
+Sam Pipitone both but I'm sure there's a lot of teams because so many ppl train
Do you like that brand of step deck trailer would you recommend getting that brand

Do you know what their dry van freight rates average at jmc?
+LaMar no but they look to be equal if not higher at times but I don't know if they have high volume of freight
Where they have freight it seems good. They just don't have a lot of it. In cali I almost would have rather had a van though
+The W yeah I was stuck out there for couple days
Randee Lewis I got a load right out but it's od. I've never done any I always try to avoid them ...fingers crossed I got the permits and stuff right. Loads only 800 lbs. But 10 feet wide

How much did this load pay?
+DAVID M somewhere around $1450
