I got my docs 3 years ago and not a single thing is still wrong with them!! I love how sturdy they're, definitely my go to! They are such a solid pair of boots for every season! I need to get more, thanks for sharing with us ✨

Break in tip; get some super thick socks, put one or two inside each other, and put a tennis ball in them. Wedge that into the boot and let them sit a day or two, and it’ll help so the instep. Always helped me!
I used Nike tube socks/ tall socks with padded heels. Shoe stretch also works well! I think the specific spray I have is made by the brand kiwi, but I’m sure other brands would be fine too. I just sprayed the inside of the shoes, and wore them around the house with my Nike socks! I tend to wear tall socks even after wearing them in, just because the top part around the calf area can still give me blisters/rub occasionally. That being said, I have sensitive skin that gets blistered/ irritated easily, so you may be fine.
I really like my 1460. I got them a couple month ago and i am liking them more and more every time i put them on.

I absolutely love Dr.Martens! I've had mine for over 5 years and I still wear them till this day. I don't really take care of them either, there's little scruffs but not anything I can't look past 💕

THIS was the hype I needed. I just bought the 1460 Mono Patent Leather Docs and I was seriously contemplating returning them. They felt so stiff and I thought the soft leather would have been a better choice for comfort, even though I love the glossy look. Thank you for the vid and giving the vote of confidence! Will be keeping my shiny docs for years to come!

Those are so cute! Really love the glossy finish! The structure honestly is so nice, I've wanted to get a pair for the longest but I will once I move back to the colder weather! Amazing how greatly you have taken care of them though .. my booties always get so scuffed up!

I love this! I’ve always wanted these but I’ve always heard that they hurt and you need to break them in. I love the glossy finish, and honestly the creases weren’t even noticeable not even the scuffs I love them they are so cute
They’re definitely tough at first but great once you get past it. I totally agree!! Very worth it
Hi Morgan. History lesson for you. They haven’t been around since 1901 - it’s 1947. The iconic boot you have - the 1460 is named as such because they were first made on 1st April 1960, 1/4/60 hence their name :) x

I've always been iffy about getting Docs. They looks nice for fall and winter but they look so heavy! They so seem like they'll last a really long time!!
They have some weight but I feel like they’re not too heavy to make me not want them! They don’t feel heavy when you’re walking but I get why you say that for sure. They’re such a great investment!!
I have the embossed boots and I love them as a 60+ wearer they give a dressier look...love them.

I have 3 pairs of docs and I love them! I even bought one pair used to save money, and they still look brand new! I have the brown leather 1460 (wild horse color I think?), the mono black 1460, and the patent jadons! I’ve had the first two pairs for over 5 years and they’re still in great shape! I don’t do any shoe care on mine either.

That was a very thorough explanation on one of my favorite boots I started to really love since 2017! I never got these, but your experience with them and explanation on how it's Gender-Neutral was perfect. It's a very Unisex boot just like Converse sneakers.

i have the typical 1460, ive always wanted a patent pair but the fact i couldnt polish them to take care of the leather and seeing how easily patent coating scuffs i held off buying, but i think im sold

I would totally get docs but i've heard it is such a pain to break them in and they're expensive, but they look sooooo cute!! Your docs still look pretty new a year later wow even though you don't really clean them, that's so good! The glossy finish actually look so cool!

as for combat boots, they are water resistant because of the Goodyear Welt. I dont think they ever once claimed to have air bubbles in the soles; maybe thats what you took from the term Airwair bouncing soles.

Based on what I have seen and reviews, I only buy certain brands of shoes and clothing like Dr. Martens, Uggs, or whatever, from the brand themselves. When you go elsewhere like DSW, tj maxx, big box stores like Costco, or any outlet or surplus, or wherever to get a cheaper deal, the quality is different. The reviews verify this. A lot of people don't realize that the big brands license out their names to other companies and this is why those bargain companies can give you such a deal but you're trading the quality. So for those people complaining about the peeling of the Dr Marten patent leather booth, I would love to ask them where exactly did they get their shoes from? Did they buy it directly from Dr Martens store or did they buy it elsewhere? Honestly, it is better to pay the extra money at least you know you got the REAL quality product that lasts significantly longer and not the cheaper version with the name slapped on it that you're going to have to replace soon anyway.

Question. You said uncomfortable in the beginning. Were they snug around the ball? Did they make your toes tingle?im worried I got them to small
Um from experience wearing dr marten boots to the airport highly recommend don’t unless you want to be stopped at every single security guard and metal detected because that’s what happened to me and I had to take them off multiple times :)

I have a question for you, did they hurt the top of your foot? I just purchased them and the top of my foot hurts. They feel very tight where the top seam is.
Is this normal? Will it get better? Or would you recommend sizing up? Thank you!
No reason the ‘gloss’ should peel off as it’s not an additional layer. Patent leather is just highly polished normal leather. It’s just been polished by machine at a higher rate which gives the shiny look

I started getting Doc Martens last Year I like wearing 1460 Made In England I have 3 Black Ox Blood Red and Green I also love the 1490 as well the Black ones are Made In Asia and Ox Blood Red Made In England. I also have 20 eye non zipped version 1420 Made In Asia I love Doc Martens so much I now wear them all Year round

How did you make them stop squeaking or what’s the best way to stop them from making too much noise
Honestly I just tried to wear them in! I didn’t have a specific strategy for the squeakiness but it stopped after a bit as I continued to wear them a ton
CAUTION! You are not supposed to use the Doc Martens balsam balm on the black patent because it will mattify them... also not to be used on the sparkly leathers.
She stated that you can.. please don't! You might ruin your patent Doc's.

Hi Pamela, I wonder if it's posdible to use it inside the boot instead the outside. What do you think? Or mink oil inside to break them faster.
There is a patent cleaner spray that they sell that you can use on the shoes to clean them! I have these Docs and the cleaner! Hope it helps!

Oh thank you for that information.
I've just wipe them with a damp cloth. Let dry and with a tissue apply Vaseline ( petroleum gelly) in a circular motion. It keeps them supple and brings out a brilliant shine.
I recalled my Mom doing this way back in the 60's to her patent leather shoes.
Sometimes solutions are inexpensive and tried and true from the past.

I'm a 50 year old waiter in Hawaii and have worn the shoes for work since the early 90's and think its funny that people wonder if guys an wear 'em, lol! love it! yeah they definitely have a mens section on their website but they are very unisex 👍

I find that surprising that ppl would wonder that as my view is that they are/were originally for mainly men but are unisex to women too and now dm design styles specifically for women. I expect it’s an age thing, I’m in my 40s 🤷♀️ either way, I’m a happy member of the dm club 😆

Hi! When you say size down, do you mean in length of the foot they run big? or are they too large? My foot is 23.5 cm in length and I don't know what number to get lengthwise. These are nowhere to be found in stores here in my country, so if i order them online i wanna try to avoid having to return them if I can. Could you please advice related to sizes? I don't know if I should pick a size 36 or 37. Thanks!

As fad as being true to size im a guy and have the Jadon max buttero they fit amazing not to tight or to loose but got the Jadon max chain patent leather at the same size and they feel a bit tighter than I would of thought so was wondering if they would stretch or mold like other regular docs

I love my glossy docs and I’ve had them for a couple of months now but I want to make sure they are super protected.
Someone actually told me that the balm messes with the gloss so I wouldn’t!!

Are the lak version hard to break in of I should go with soft leather once. I don't want more pain bc I have Dr Mathens sally sandel and is hurting so bad I bleed. But I hammer them to soft it. Let me know if lak version goes comfy if I need to get soft leather

I saw ur other collection of clothes and stuff and I really like ur taste.. Only I'm minimalist so I minimalize my clothes to make is small but very good to combine.. Now black whites and creme beiges with jeans and some few colors. I exchange stuff and declutter stuff and ofc I'll keep buying to make it more and more minimal and useful and stylish..
