I definitely like the ones with the red stitching! Docs are such a personal thing. I love my 1460 smooth leather pair that are dark purple (like my wheelchair) with the classic yellow stitching and original soles.
Ok. I'm older but got on d.martens train last summer. The soft 1460 leather r the way to go, dont need to break in. I have them in baby blu, soft yellow, all white. ❤ love them.
IMO, if you really want to own a pair of docs, make sure it's the "Made in England" like the 1460 PASCAL MADE IN ENGLAND CHROMEXCEL BOOTS ($270) or even the 1460 VINTAGE MADE IN ENGLAND LACE UP BOOTS ($230) They're the best of the best!!
I regret not holding onto my Docs from back in the day! I want to get another pair now😄 Love the og ones with yellow stitching. Cant wait to see which ones you got! Great video dear💕
Wow this brings me down memory lane! I wore my Doc Martens to pieces when I was a teenager! Crazy how they’ve come back full circle. Fashion always repeats itself! I think the vibe of Doc Martens goes really well with your style. Rock em! 😝
Makes it hard to ever get rid of stuff since trends always come back to past fashion. But DMs never really went away in IMO, it's just more prevalent now among different generations and spans different styles. And now it's stressing me because I don't know which one to pick...do I really need more than one?! Sigh. TFW! ❤️
Great video! I really wanted to watch it when I had time to absorb the info because I have also been stuck in the Doc Marten decision limbo for years. I love these boots on others and I think we would get along together but which ones?!?!?!?!
Ahh thank you so much for this video. So helpful. I’ve wanted Dr. Martens for two decades and I’m finally ready to buy them, but I’m still not sure which ones.
OMG! It was YOU from IG that made me want to search for DMs again and when you posted that there was no break in time with the Virginia leather, I had to check them out. I tried looking for you on IG, but I couldn't remember who posted! Thank you for watching and subbing and most importantly, introducing me to the Pascals ❤️
@@danielafloreslizcano4623 i sized up because i wear thick socks esp on winter. I am usually 7.5 i got 8 and its perfect! I could have done it with 7.5 bc the leather can stretch after a awhile .
Shoe reviews almost never show you the material of the interior, which is basically the element which makes the difference not only in price but also in how comfortable a pair of shoes is.
I laughed because I am picking my first pair of Docs and I swear I am over thinking it also, hence why I watched this video. I went from 1460 OG to Jadon, to pascal, to Leona, to Bex…ahhhhhhh too many to choose from 😩.
Depends on your foot shape, I got the og 1460s and my foot shape is like the exact shape, longer and thinner, and I fit like a glove and it just needed to go to my arch
I just bought 2 smooth 1460s. I got the ucin leather for the colors. I feel like they are plastic boots with a thin leather lining. They state it's full grain but unless the cow was anemic, there are a lit if layers of leather missing. They are to break in, which would be worth it if the leather was good quality.
Wow, this was exeactly what I needed, thanks! 😀 Recently I bought the boots with 14 eyelets (1B99), in Virginia leather. Wonderfully soft and no need to break in. The only drawback: the zipper is not as handy as I thought it would be, with my high instep it is difficult for me to get in, so every time I am completely untying those laces and tying them again. Not handy if you're in a hurry 🙄 Now I would also like to have a pair with 8 eyelets. My eye fell on the Pascal Virginia, black with yellow stitching or the mono black. I did some searching and comparing and came up with your video, it's great! :-D When you said in your comparison that the mono is actually quite 'ordinary' I started to look at it differently. And you are absolutely right! So the Pascal Virginia with yellow stitching remains 😉 Although I also have doubts about the 1460 Made in England. More expensive, more painful to walk in (I hear from several people) but seems to be better quality. I can't buy them around here and I don't want to buy them online, I really have to try them on in the store, so I'll postpone it for a while 😉 I really like the black with red stitching on you! The Pascals looked a bit large indeed, those with red stitching looked much smaller. After this I'll go to your IG to see which one you chose. Until a few years ago I had the 1460 Smooth Leather in green (such a beautiful colour!), but I thought it looked so clumsy in my EU size 40, so I sold them. Regret it afterwards... I also had the regular Pascals (no Virginia leather), I kept getting blisters in them, so those have been sold as well. I still have the 1461 Virginia, but unfortunately they are a bit too small, my feet have grown a bit, I'll try to sell them soon. I also have the Mary Jane Ina, that is such a nice shoe! Also very comfortable. Anyway, I really 'need' a pair with 8 eyelets; it never stays with 1 pair. Or 2 pairs. Or... 😁😁
When you pulled out the arcadia, I was like oh nooo! That's the hardest leather ever. I've had my cherry arcadia 1490s for over a year and the ankle leather still does not bend much, I'm amazed I broke those in. Luckily my ankle doesn't touch the back of the boot so no pain. But people usually say the smooth leather is really hard but it's nothing compared to the arcadia. Plus the rub off color doesn't rub off prettily in my opinion unless you do it intentionally.
That first pair we don't have in the Netherlands. might be is some special version that never came here.. Don't know about that. I wear 38.5 got 39 was huge so I sold it back for cheap so now, I'm waiting to get 38 bc all docs accept the England version comes huge..
I have a pair of the 1460 classic that I wear on a motorcycle in the winter time with redhead socks underneath them and my feet stay warm and dry! I originally got that soft leather, I guess the Virginia leather Pascal boot, and returned it because I knew it wouldn't be warm enough but they were oh so comfy! @@akinkunmiogunbiyi658 yes! I ended up getting the 1460 bex. Can’t remember if she mentioned it in this video but they’re like the 1460 but with a thicker sole

I am just as indecisive. I was going to purchase a pair of docs that I was instantly drawn to, but I hesitated and now they're sold out of my size 😭 To add insult to injury, they're $70 off. Dammit.
Lot of times when they run out do sixes and need to restock they put them on crazy sales 😭😭 being a smaller size it’s hard when I see the exact pair I want for 70 and they only have 2 sizes
The Arcadia Leather is usually kind of a very dark cherry color. I don’t think these Elsham Kensington boots are in Arcadia leather, it just looks like black polished leather to me. Beautiful pair anyway
This is a great video. I have the Pascal. I’m a retired high school teacher, sooo, I have pretty bad feet. The Pascals are so comfortable. Last winter I wore them everyday. This year, not so much, just because of Covid. I don’t know why they don’t market these for older people because they are super comfortable and supportive. Thanks for a great video!
My favourite pair is the pascal one! It’s really comfy and I didn’t have to wear them in, it’s almost as if they come worn in but still in perfect condition!
The red stitched ones look excellent on you! I think the stitching on these upper is so subtle, you can barely see it. It's actually awesome on you.ihope you kept them! They are the best shape for your foot as well. Did you keep them? If so, did you have to break them in?
Haha I agree! I don’t want to pay for blisters lol. How do you like the pascal? Did you get your usual size? I’m a 7.5 in shoes but I get 8 in gym shoes. I ordered an 8 in pascal and just received them, but they feel a little lose with thick socks. Im thinking of ordering 7 but not sure if they will work lengthwise.
@@loren3220 yes. I ordered my regular shoe size. Also I realized that wearing strictly cotton socks that aren’t soft make putting on your shoes hell. Regardless of thickness a smooth sock makes putting your shoes in so much easier. I haven’t gotten a blister at all and I love them.
@@amandamejia7737 I ended up going to a Marten store to try a smaller size and Omg they were a lot smaller!!! too short and tight. This is my favorite Dr Marten video! Wish I would’ve seen before I bought mine. I got the 1460 W at dsw which is the womens version. I am a size uk 3.5 and got a size 4 in dr martens 1460 glossy and they look so big but it’s comfortable. Then the size 3 was so nice pretty on me but it was too small. What shall I do?
I really enjoyed your video! Very informative and helpful, especially since I'm thinking on buying my first pair of Dr Martens. Sadly I only have access in buying men's Docs, do you believe that their construction may be wider (or genially different) than the womans version? Thanks in advance, x

I own five pairs of Dr Martens too :) I love your username. Its very clever. I wear a size 7.5-8 but in my burgundy Mary Janes Im a size 7
I am a size uk 3.5 and got a size 4 in dr martens 1460 glossy and they look so big but it’s comfortable. Then the size 3 was so nice pretty on me but it was too small. What shall I do?
I have the same problem but with size 4 and 5 (im size 4.5). Which ones did you get?

Good video. Thanks.
Which one is the most popular one
I really enjoyed your video! Very informative and helpful, especially since I'm thinking on buying my first pair of Dr Martens. Sadly I only have access in buying men's Docs, do you believe that their construction may be wider (or genially different) than the womans version?
Thanks in advance, x
I know I'm late, but if you're still wandering.. The classic 1460s should be the same shape so don't worry about it if you decide for those
you should've tried Jadons
Are those shoes comfortable for wide feet? I’ve spent the past 3weeks on researching wch model is better for wide feet and couldn’t find anything
