Dude, you are one of the most transparent and honest DJ producers on the market at the moment, your phrase says that one of your best songs was made on a laptop and with a headphone it is enough to say that you are awesome in every way, keep being like this!
Your end message is everything...especially to me. I'm 47 and have been an EDM fan forever. In my early 20s I had a Korg X2 and composed music for fun, just within the limits of that keyboard alone. Some EDM, some symphonic stuff (which I actually have uploaded to this channel), some Yanni/Kitaro ambient stuff, etc. Just having fun. Never had the drive to go farther than recreational playing, despite many friends/fam saying I should have done more with it. Fast forward to now and suddenly I have this wild fire up my ass to actually produce something I literally dreamt of after EDC Orlando, legit inspired by your set Saturday night (and the shrooms I was enjoying). Now I'm diving in, with just my home PC and gamer headphones. Nothing fancy. Steep learning curve for sure, but I've not been this excited about making music in over 25 years. So here's to having nothing but a computer and a brain, and a passion to see if I can produce a track that people will enjoy before I'm 50. That's my goal...a one hit wonder is fine by me...just for the love of the music and the smiles I want to bring people. So again...thank you James for that very important point at the end. It means more than you know.
@@Ra18To 100%. Might as well give it a shot and just see what happens. At the end of the day, if I just end up making something that I love blasting in my car, it's worth it. :)
Great Studio James. I like that you said that none of that gear matters and all you need is your laptop and your head. As somebody that is learning to produce, this gives me peace of mind
You said it best, all you need is laptop and your brain to produce music. All the fancy studio stuff is a luxury, you’re 1000% right. I’ve learned so much just by watching you, whether it’s streaming production or DJing. I would love to just talk to you at length about music and just life in general. Much love always bro!
Another thing I would like to remind anyone interested: It takes zero effort to notice that this video was shot rather poorly, but we all watched it to the end because the content is authentic and well-thought-out. This should come as a lesson to anyone still hesitating to make and upload their first UA-cam video.
Love the studio tour man, the new studio looks sick! Also, it's good to hear that none of this really matter and it's just a laptop and and your mind that's needed to produce music.
I love how you're honest about things, helpful with advice for new music producers and an all round top man! Love your videos Hype even if I'm an aging Dad, your music is sick! 🙏❤
the Behringer RD-9 looks a bit intimidating at first but it actually only takes like 5 minutes to learn how to use. I thought it would take a bit of time to learn and was surprised when it only took like 5 minutes to learn.
This man is sooo down to earth. Just a Video with his phone or what. Nothing special but so much more giving than anything else. He loves what he is doing and shares it, like he is one of us. Such a likeable guy.
@@ДжонСнежный I was just informing for the ones who don't know. I know there are monitors that ho up to 80k for a single one and Hi-Fi for like 600.000€
Love your final message and the only thing I want to add is: all the extra stuff it's for get to the finish line FASTER... for example your room and monitors, you are 100% sure the song it's finished and sounds right in a second, instead of doing tons of revisions...
I really love this videos man, im working on finding my north in music and djing and all of this it really inspires me to do so, im a big fan of you an thanks for all of this content, the tutorials, the streams, the shows, the vlogs from the travels, everything becouse really Who does this? Only James Hype for me, thanks brother for everything.
If you take the time to get comfortable with an analog synth monster ($3000+) an analog filter + maybe a distressor/ delay. aswell... You will create sounds from your true essence more so than a synth on a screen. Thats if you havnt already before mostly using ITB synths like you said early in video
I am surprised James doesn't have any outboard compressors...i mean do yourself a favor and grab some,, and get some Yamaha NS-10's for mix reference...James we all dig you here in the US!
You ain’t give no love to that focusrite 18i20 interface lol! That interface is soooo underrated. I love the preamps and work flow of it way better than the Apollo. My apollo 8x just sits there now
The TD-3 is easy to program with the synth tool, so i suspect the 909 clone is the same.. but the Ableton 909 set is pretty close and no latency. I got a TR-8 and its easy to sync it with Serato. TR-8s supposed to be marginally harder to use, but if all you want is to kick drum everything in a mix/redrum, then I'm sure it's fine. Just program some basic patterns with synth tool on the RD-9 and sync to Serato with midi and you can technofy unexpected stuff.
Yo,mate that’s fk awesome! You are my inspiration . Thanks for video. Actually that’s what I thought about all this equipment, that only meters it’s your ability to think out of the box ! One more time thanks for video! Have a good gigs in the future!
I remember going to my first NAMM show in 2014 PMC speakers Changed my life…first thing I played was “So far to go” by J Dilla. It was a emotional moment for me. I still have the tea cup they gave me.
Those power conditioners are badass brother, found em the other day and im upgrading to them from Pyle. Even though Pyle is used on my network gear and even servers. Always been solid but those are Cadillac of conditioners and for audio it’s a MUST! From an electrical and IT professional, you’re doing great my friend. Hope to see ya when you back in Florida again. Tampa would be dope! Much love ❤️ #RealHypeFam 🎉🫶🙏✊
Nice studio ... The less "gear" you have the better. Too much of everything is just confusion and future nice furniture. :) Fast intuitive workflow and great AD DA converters and you're 90% there. The rest is talent and hard work; gaining knowledge, experience, exploring your gear to the max or almost max. etc.
Price of Game: Free 99. Keep finding reasons why I'm part of the Hypefam - it's because of videos like these that continues to inspire. No gatekeeping and community building for music fans to enjoy and believing in the chasers to continue dreaming. Thank you for putting out videos like these because it's extremely reassuring when doubt comes to the forefront
Cool studio James!! I'm a big fan of you❤ your sets are always on my youtube playing when I work out🙌 by the way, where do we send the demos? Do you accept any demos?

Correct on every level
What I really wanted to know about was that ceiling lighting 😅
