Just burned out my motor on my v100. I’m thinking about that tekin upgrade for esc, but I’m still looking for a good brushless motor. Any thoughts? I am trying to budget this out and have nothing for spare parts. Any advice is welcome
Good stuff Tony. Very nice budget build. Those yellow connectors are called XT60 connectors. I have been using them on all my cars. Keep up the great videos!
nice job Tony.. Cool update.. You really got that car going for a good price.. Personally I am a Deans connector guy but I think the Traxxas connectors are pretty good too in my opinion.. Thanks for sharing bud.. Glad to see you back in front of the camera again.. :)
Just starting a build on one of these myself, but I'm not limiting myself as much budget wise. Most of the initial build will be parts that NEED to be upgraded like the driveshafts and shocks, as well as parts that would be easier to swap out now while it's broken down into a half dozen or so Ziploc baggies as well as putting the aluminum motor mount on it, since I plan to go brushless right away.
+CCxRC I am curious, did you have to change anything on the steering from stock to use the Futaba servo on it? I'm thinking I might use one of the Savox short servos (125oz/in, .09 speed) and those use the Futaba style spline on the output.
First time watcher.. that sounded kinda weird 🤣anyway awesome build I just picked up the 72 split bumper and have been going through every screw and video to just get familiar before I just send it! I Like the vid! Good info! just sub’d and duh why wouldn’t you smash the bell 🔔 can the stock motor and esc handle 3s with hard plastic drift tires or is 60 amp (
nice jod on the budget build brotha. looks like it's gonna be pretty sick. and I'm very frigging jealous of the xmaxx. now I know we have to get together the next time I'm in Va. haha
Thanks. I'm getting geeked about running it. It felt much more solid on the driveway than my hpi...so that was interesting. The Xmaxx is a beast for sure. Going to do a first impression video on it soon.
I'll be honest and say, "I don't know." These are my first on-road cars, so I don't know what motors or gearing people are using and if they change for drifting etc.
I actually don't know that I've ever been to Philly. I know my wife went there for work, but I can't recall ever going. If I do, we'll have to race for sure.
I'm being careful not to hit the $250 mark of getting it as a new rtr. The $125 added up quickly, but they are nicer parts than the stock ones and I'm still well below the price.
We’re did you buy the center drive shaft and the aluminum cups that go with it?
Would you happen to know if I can find a skid plate for this cars chassis ?….. an aluminum or steel skid plate.
A lot going on in the CCxRC studio, you're keeping yourself busy Tony !!
Which lipo brand and mah will be a direct fit for my battery tray in my Vaterra v100 ?

Hello there I’m new to the rc world and I’m just Wanted to ask where to look for that metal cvd
Awesome build for a great price. Big Thumbs-up for the hidden body post.

Nice work Tony!! I love these Vaterra cars v100 is definitely a solid platform!! can't wait to see what body you go with!!

+GreenJeep1998 very cool! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I did not have to change anything. It slipped right in and works great
+CCxRC Sweet, I was hoping what I heard was right.........kinda odd that Horizon would have a Futaba spline on one of their servos though.
I still have to button up a bit, but I crammed a Arrma blx granite 3s setup in my v100. It’s definitely going to need a good update to aluminum. 😂
Did you upgrade it to alliminum
Nice salvage job. It's looking good.
Thanks bud. It's been pretty painless. I did clean it up quite a bit as well using PB blaster and then re-lubed it all.
I’m new to the channel and new to RC cars,
I just bought the Camaro SS model,
Question,
Which battery can I use to give the car some power?
Angel Vargas 2s 5000mah lipo

I have got a castle combo sidewinder 4 and 5700kv and run a 2.4 at 60mph at 132ft.
Hey like that deal ' how much did the brushless motor cost ? ' or did u already have it ? Jimmie R
I had it already from the Gmade Sawback trade I made. I swapped it out of the crawler so I could put in a brushed motor and waterproof ESC.

+CCxRC sweet can't wait to see that I want one so bad but I just don't know about that 800 dollar price range lol
I have a brushed v100
Wich brushless combo should I get in this car?
I'll be honest and say, "I don't know." These are my first on-road cars, so I don't know what motors or gearing people are using and if they change for drifting etc.
nice, what do you have in mind for a body?
Not sure. I'm torn between a camaro body and a drifter truck.
+CCxRC truck would be nice
So what motor should i slap in my v100
Great project , excellent video !!
great job on the budget build. hope you don't have magnets glued to your rear window. lol.
Hahah n that would defeat the purpose wouldn't it. Maybe heavy tinting. Need to work on programming the ESC.
Do you have the cvd parts number
Do you still have this?
No. I sold it a few months ago.
CCxRC i wanted to buy it haha thanks
coming along great
you ever in the Philly area? if so we could meet up an race or something with our RC trucks haha
I actually don't know that I've ever been to Philly. I know my wife went there for work, but I can't recall ever going. If I do, we'll have to race for sure.
Yeah man definitely, I'll bring out my stampede an we can race, just hit me up whenever your in the area, you got my instagram Chrisgiangiulio871

i have a GMADE Sawback body for you from Germany... nice build bro
I just gave my Gmade Sawback body away when converted to the d90
great video
Nice build for $125
Thanks. I'm trying to be and keep it under what it would've cost new as an rtr. Haha. $125 added up quickly.

Any ideas on the body you want to go with?
