The thing I don’t actually like the most, and maybe I’m just envious and salty,is because he has money he can afford all the best coaches and trainers, has all the time to train, and get the best “medicine” money can buy. It’s a struggle to get ready for a fight when you’re working a regular full time job. He never had to worry about that.
My favorite take on this is Chael Sonnen who points out that your skill only last the 1st half of the fight and after that your instincts as a fighter got to be there, your ability to dig deep, take punishment, stay focused, and still get the win, which is what Jake has proven he has the ability to do.
There is a reason why hes calling out nearing 40s (silva was wa older and tuson is literally 60ish) retired grappling heavy mma fighters. Hed never call out a striking beavy younger mma fighter let alone an active boxer
Heavy striking younger MMA fighter? That's most likely an already successful guy in his prime, who's most likely LOCKED into a contract with an organization. And that's why that person can't fight Jake Paul. Strikland recently got challenged by Jake Paul, and Strickland HIMSELF said he'd love to fight him, but can't since Dana White told him not to. A "heavy striking younger MMA fighter" that's NOT currently involved in an organzation? Then you'll say Jake Paul fought a nobody.
@@SlimJim-bw3ib Jake knows that too lmao that's why he called out poatan. He wouldn't call out a fresh poatan if he left the contract. Jake has fought no ranked cruiserweight or light heavyweight in the WBC wba wbo ibo iba ibf rankings lmao

He has top notch trainers and sparring partners. I wonder if that hurts in some way? Do they take it for granted (either trainer or fighter)? This fight was a throw away. I just feel like the Fury fight was more revealing.
Not sure what you mean by "fixed." If you mean fighting smaller, older, guys with big names in MMA but little to no boxing experience then yeah. But if you're saying his opponents are taking a dive, I don't buy it, And I have trained and fought as an amateur boxer.
At this point he stands to boost his public image a LOT by starting to fight against actual boxers on his level. Not only would it legitimize this whole thing, he could play the benefactor angle by bringing big money to fighters with no name. He doesn't need his opponent to have a name, he's plenty famous and rich. He could leverage some seriously resilient fame long term by helping boost the careers of real boxers withput a big name.

Can you do a video on how it feels everyday waking up knowing you're the world champion? How do people treat you when they find out you're a world champion? does your family brag on you? Do you feel like it was all worth it ? Id love for you to make a video about that
I will point your comment out to Gabriel as I think that would be an interesting video. As parents or a family, you do not want to be braggy about your kids/or brothers accomplishments - no one wants to hear that kind of stuff, it just comes off really wrong. A number of years back, the front page of the sports section was an article about Gabriel winning his first pro world title. The comment I valued the most was our next door neighbour of ten years saying to me "oh- I did not know your family did martial arts...." It was a new experience for Gabriel to have complete strangers come up to him and say hi / congratulations/ good job and ask for an autograph. Gabriel is a really quiet, humble guy, but he is very polite as well, and he always would answer questions and spend time or do a photo. It would be a different experience again to be someone like Ali, Mayweather, McGreggor..... truly world wide famous people, who could not go anywhere without someone recognizing them. Gabriel's dad - Keith Varga

1:10 didn't get past me. "he didn't start moxing at a really young age". That's what it is, mock boxing, he's a moxer. He's shouting about being cruiserweight champion by fighting non-boxers in exhibition fights but lost to the only boxer he's fought.
One thing a certain, Mike is too tough for his own good. I was losing my mind to how much he kept his hands down and did zero defense. If Jake thinks he's the best, he should call out REAL TRUE boxers, instead of current / former MMA fighters.
Same thing with Ryan Garcia. People failed to acknowledge his skills because he's been widely seen as a "influencer". Even after he got the KO against Campbell, people still slept on him. He's got flaws, as with anyone. But he's not just a instagram boxer. (Notwithstanding his recent antics, that's not relevant to the conversation here)
It might also be because he only fights old fighters. He's just a rich kid that's paid his way into the sport. He doesn't want to get shown up by an actual, in their prime, fighter.

If the question is, is Jake a boxer, the answer is yes, obviously, he's going into the squared circle to box. If the question is, is Jake Paul on his way to a heavyweight championship, the answer at least for now is no. Jake doesn't want to work up the ranks he wants to take short cuts. Mike Tyson fought 15 professional fight in 1985 alone, more fights than Jake has had in his lifetime. If Jake had started even at 20 and started in amateur leagues and worked his way up. Sure a super rich kid can hire trainers and become a relatively ok Boxer compared to a "regular" guy but to become a contender takes years of dedication and 4 or 5 years of even high level training won't compare to a fighter whose made it his lifelong goal. Period. As has been stated before, when Paul went against a guy his size and weight in Fury he lost, does he think he can beat Tyson Fury now? Just silly. Canello would make very short work of Jake.
If Jake could fight someone who has proper defence he might learn a lot more. Up until now he has had really good experience and has shown his power and new skills but he will be limited in what he learns unless he puts himself in there with someone who doesn't defend themselves with their face. Its scary I get it but if he wants to be champion he HAS to do this.
He's a bully and a pretty boy first and foremost. Put him up against a real fighter who can't be persuaded with money and we'll see who the real boxer is.
ofcourse he is, he trained hard with the best trainer out there, elaborate why wouldn’t he be one. ARE YALL TRYING TO SAY THAT HARD WORK WILL NEVER MATTER BECAUSE YOU BEEN A INFLUENCER? grow up
‘You’ve only had had 4 fights, you’re not a real fighter’. Just destroyed any justification the Paul is a real fighter with that statement. Because anyone with those 4 fights will ah e been in the same weight class, been challenged. Instead of cherry picking their opponent, giving yourself a massive advantage.
afaik people say he isn't a real boxer because he only fights ufc guys and barely ever gets into a ring with anyone that does boxing. It doesn't have to be the best boxer but someone that actually focuses their training on boxing the same way Jake does.
You shouldnt be surprised that there are. Many people you come across probably are registered as golden gloves or even silver who spent much of their youth in the amateurs. Which actually is a very big foundation for the fundamentals and more training than Jake Paul has done.
I dont think that is the point of the critique. The issue is that Jake Paul largely takes fights that largely favor him without having gone through the ranks of fighting like many boxers have and still are going through. He lost to a person that was trained as a boxer but he often picks those within the MMA community to box. I will give him credit in this fight though but ultimately he isnt a boxer; he is a boxer that never had to work to achieve that level of fame and basically bought his way in. Is that diminshing to his potential talent? No... but he has yet to fight boxers that are trying to make it up the ladder and that is the point. If he truly wants to box then he should start like most fighters who fight up the ranks.
No, he's still having to work on very basic stuff. He still makes a lot of fundamental errors. But he is getting in the ring with Tyson so hats off to him for that, if it isn't fixed.
The only time he fought a real boxer his own size he lost...... but he did alright though... and he gets in there and does it not sitting on the side lines being a Monday morning quarter back. Credit where credit is due
If Jake Paul wants to be recognized as a boxer he needs to fight one. It is that simple. For to be recognized as a Muy Thai fighter I just have to do an amateur bout I am then legitimately a real Muy Thai fighter.
Honestly, after this performance Jake Paul is not bad as an amateur boxer in my opinion Gabriel, but honestly if you would to put him up against top 30 of professional boxing his weight class, he wouls not stand a chance honestly but overall a good win for Paul, sad to see Perry lose like that. Overall an amazing video Gabriel! 🗿🥊
Brother we know he has skills the issue most people have with jake paul is that he fought UA-cam cans and MMA retirees and at one point he wanted his fights to be sanctioned. The closest thing to a sanctioned match that he has had is against Tommy Fury and He lost. Then he went right back to first mike perry and and then an almost 60 year old Mike Tyson. Does he have skills? Sure. Do I see him as a serious boxer? Nope.
Paul clearly has more skill than the guys he fights who have never done boxing before, that's for sure. His cardio is really poor though. Actually not sure if he was high af or completely ravaged to the point he was going to faint by the end.
What they mean is he doesn't fight real boxers, unless they are much smaller than him. And in boxing you are supposed to compete against other boxers that are the same weight as you. Boxing against old MMA competitors that are much smaller and don't really have much skill or experience boxing isn't really all that fair of a fight. So yes, Jake is a real boxer. He's just boxing smaller, older, guys without much boxing experience.
I think 🤔 put jake paul up against a talented current boxer doesn't have to be a contender or champ, but he would cave in, opinion only, but for what he's done up to now i agree as you say he has money so it's not about that but he is an influencer and i think 🤔 that's a big part of the strategy with him, crazily he has toyed with fighting Alex Pereira,😂😂😂 i saw a vid clip and Alex Pereira basically said ok, Alex Pereira would screw him up, I'd like to see that one.
I think it's a bit disingenuous to attribute people's problems with Jake Paul to his not being competitive in the top 10. That in itself means nothing, Emmanuel Augustus never was in the top 10 and people love him to bits. Jake Paul put a lot of effort into learning boxing, but only ever fights people who are either less experienced than he is in it, much smaller than he is, much older than he is, or a combination of the above. That and any time he wins he talks smack like he's defeated Roy Jones Jr or Ali at their primes. The fact he's probably also juiced to the gills is up for debate, but the massive, gaping chasm between his ego and his actual accomplishments isn't.
Sorry I'm not buying this he should be fighting proper boxers simple as that and if you're going to tell me is not on steroid it all about money these day's boxing is done real boxers ain't getting the opportunity now and people need to understand MMA boxing bfk muythai are all different but are good in their own way but big up to jake showing people that anything is possible
Paul mixing up punches real nice and fluid. Jake seemed nice and loose. Very quick. Perry was out of his boxing depth. Could not handle the movement or handspeed. Paul was hitting him before he could think. My opinion.
Is it full contact? Is it fixed? If yes and no, then it is a real fight. Weight and reach doesn’t really matter if it isn’t fixed and it is full contact. Both athletes knows what is going to go down. This is my humble opinion as a lifelong martial artist, and I only am an amateur
First off, when he picks washed fighters, mostly in MMA, to destroy the credibility of the sport... Askren, a wrestler, Woodley, a pacifist style, Silva, 50 years old... Diaz, he fights when he wants... Perry, he usually fights at 170's, not 200! I don't call that guy a legit boxer! Second, when your only intention is to make a freak show instead of making the sport BETTER... Also, not legit! Bring him a real boxer, same category... He will finally shut up. If Dana White really hates Jake Paul, he will send Pereira to fight him and finally "kill" Jake Paul's shit talking... And after that, he'll be the GOAT of the UFC.
The way the term “real boxer” is misused, is just as stupid as how people misuse the word amateur boxer. If you box, you box. If you fight, you fight. Is he good? Compared to what? He’s decent enough to easily outbox a bunch of mma legends. Silva was good enough to beat Chavez jr. Does it make him great? No. But he clearly isn’t just a UA-camr anymore. He’s been proving people wrong every single time. Almost 80% of Mighty’s viewers, believed Mike Perry would win. That says about it!
No he’s not a good boxer, he’s looking like an amateur. He’s is a very basic boxer and I don’t understand this mma fighters they have not a good game plan. All this mma guys has no defense.
Anybody that thinks these fights are real, I feel sorry for them. Mike perry is one of most aggressive fighters in bare knuckle. Now all the sudden is timid throwing punches towards Jake Paul. (with gloves on) Jake Paul fights reminds of me of the old days of mma in Japan where fighters were taking dives for the paycheck. It really is a shame to see combat sports go down this road as Ive been a huge fan for years. Im glad I never paid to watch these fights.
I'll have a lot more respect for him as a boxer when he fights another actual boxer, in his age and weight class. He wants the clout and respect of a real boxer without doing the work, ie - coming up through the ranks. But hey, he gets money, so that's good enough, I guess.

The reason they say that is because he fights guys twice his age or half his weight that come from every sport except boxing. The one time he fought a real boxer his age and size he lost badly.
He is Charlie Zeee with financial backing basicaly
he is not Elite Boxer but he is a great entertainer. he made fun matchup and lots of Drama
Dived and Fired. Rightfully.
You're so polite lol
I always thought is this real lol but it is!
MMA is a fake sport and Jake Paul with a few years training boxing is proving that by knocking out ex UFC champions....
@@SlimJim-bw3ib Strickland replied saying he'd be happy for Jake to come get beat up in his gym. Dana just said he wouldn't do a paid fight. Not that they couldn't fight at all. Jake almost pissed himself as far as I remember. Started mumbling about how he couldn't possibly, oh no, no, not if it's not, a you know, a paid fight.
the fights are fixed. are you familiar with how Silva fights? watch his fight vs julio cesar chavez jr. he is a slick counterstriker, always has been. now watch his fight vs whatever paul brother that was. i would take a 60 year old silva vs prime jake paul ANYDAY.
He has top notch trainers and sparring partners. I wonder if that hurts in some way? Do they take it for granted (either trainer or fighter)? This fight was a throw away. I just feel like the Fury fight was more revealing.
ALL paul brother fights vs pro or ex pro fighters are fixed. it's obvious to anyone that trains.
We will never know as he never fights legit boxers /or not his size.
The one time he fought a boxer (Fury) he lost. Thats all I need to know about this clown
The comment I valued the most was our next door neighbour of ten years saying to me "oh- I did not know your family did martial arts...."
It was a new experience for Gabriel to have complete strangers come up to him and say hi / congratulations/ good job and ask for an autograph.
The people he box agreed to box with him. None of them had to agree to the fight. They got in the ring and boxed. It's boxing. It's mostly for money and entertainment. People are just mad and jealous. Don't like it. Don't watch and don't let it bother you. Watch the boxing you want. It's your choice.
If Jake thinks he's the best, he should call out REAL TRUE boxers, instead of current / former MMA fighters.
he's a boxer, but he doesn't box pro boxers, or amateur boxers. so he's boxing vs non boxers... it's like playing football vs.race drivers
I think people hate Jake so much that they refuse to notice he is a boxer.
Same thing with Ryan Garcia. People failed to acknowledge his skills because he's been widely seen as a "influencer".
Even after he got the KO against Campbell, people still slept on him.
He's got flaws, as with anyone. But he's not just a instagram boxer.
(Notwithstanding his recent antics, that's not relevant to the conversation here)
They don’t want to give him credit for the hard work he did to get there.
It might also be because he only fights old fighters. He's just a rich kid that's paid his way into the sport. He doesn't want to get shown up by an actual, in their prime, fighter.
@@Hector-bj3ls that also yes. but he now beat a bunch of fighters that would destroy any guy who's not training at a decent level. Proof he's taking the sport seriously.
At some point I think he will take on more dangerous opponents, he still has time. For now he's picking his opponents making a lot of money for him and them in the process...
I don't like him much, but I think he's at a point where we have to give him credit for keeping up with the sport and not just do one fight like many youtubers.
Maybet he's even getting new people interested by the sport.
@@Jenjak I don't doubt he'll get better. He's just going about it the pathetic anime villan way. Pays for the best training, only fights people past their prime, pretends he's the next best thing. He needs someone his own age to put him in his place.
I'm sure we'd all train the way he does if we had the time and the money. Plus, I bet he'd quit if he had to fight his way up to these kinds of guys like the rest of us would.
I mean, if I took up boxing. I wouldn't be fighting these kinds of guys ever. Unless they're doing some sort of seminar type thing and I happened to be lucky. And even then, it would just be sparing/instruction. I'd have to actually compete against people my own age and weight. People that were trying to progress their own career.
He does make millions.
Unless all his fights are rigged, he deserves respect, he is doing the work n started waaaaaaaaaay late & winning.
they're fixed, at least the ones vs pro fighters. i wish ngannou gets a fight with a paul brother, he deserves it more than anyone else
@@mndegya? Any evidence?
5:18 Nice combo
He's a bully and a pretty boy first and foremost. Put him up against a real fighter who can't be persuaded with money and we'll see who the real boxer is.
ofcourse he is, he trained hard with the best trainer out there, elaborate why wouldn’t he be one. ARE YALL TRYING TO SAY THAT HARD WORK WILL NEVER MATTER BECAUSE YOU BEEN A INFLUENCER? grow up
Your missing the point.
@@vagabond4576 what's the point? Hating mindlessly into gas lighting everyone that he doesn't know how to box?
‘You’ve only had had 4 fights, you’re not a real fighter’. Just destroyed any justification the Paul is a real fighter with that statement. Because anyone with those 4 fights will ah e been in the same weight class, been challenged. Instead of cherry picking their opponent, giving yourself a massive advantage.
afaik people say he isn't a real boxer because he only fights ufc guys and barely ever gets into a ring with anyone that does boxing. It doesn't have to be the best boxer but someone that actually focuses their training on boxing the same way Jake does.
He was a lot bigger than Perry but beat him regardless and deserves some respect at this stage
When I want to hear something intelligent I come to your channel.
everyone can be a "real" boxer, but he's in the bottom tier of pro boxers. and he's a bully keep fighting non-boxers, smaller guys or old men.
even though hes getting better i have a hard time calling him a real boxer when hes not fighting other boxers.
He doesn't actually compete. He boxes just for show

I bet he is training more than any of you who saying he is not a boxer
Galaxy brain
But those people arent claiming to be boxers, tho
great job defending someone who doesn't even know you exist...
You shouldnt be surprised that there are. Many people you come across probably are registered as golden gloves or even silver who spent much of their youth in the amateurs. Which actually is a very big foundation for the fundamentals and more training than Jake Paul has done.
SILENCE !!!!!!!!!!!
;-)
Hard to say, he's only fighting the elderly or people who have 50 pounds less than him, if he could get the cadaver of ali in there he would
I dont think that is the point of the critique.
Are we gonna ignore that all his opponents have been significantly lighter and smaller?
Yes
It's because of financial incentives not passion incentives.
When actually wins a championship or be in the pbc or wbc then your not a real
Boxer can he box against someone that does it for a livelyhood
No, he's still having to work on very basic stuff. He still makes a lot of fundamental errors. But he is getting in the ring with Tyson so hats off to him for that, if it isn't fixed.
I was hoping to have your insight in that fight. Didn’t like Perry performance. Why would he risk his brand in that box show is beyond me.
Probably doubled his net worth.
Nope.
fighting old men is not the way
Paul clearly has more skill than the guys he fights who have never done boxing before, that's for sure.
Jake Paul is not a real boxer in the sense that he is not a pro boxer.
when Jake starts fighting boxers, THEN he might be considered a real boxer...
Hes been a real boxer since he took his first fight or sparring sessions and committed. Unless his fights are rigged then hes a "real" boxer.
The argument is he isn't a legit boxer because he doesn't box boxers. Atleast not any that aren't senior citizens
Did Tank Davis have the money to fix fights when he started fighting?
Jake Paul needs to fight Francis next
I AM a boxer nobody knows me.
Let’s go with Dustin Poirier when he retires 🎉💥
He IS a real boxer !! No matter what people say !
My opinion.
No he's not but y'all giving him all this credit just to get views which is dumb asf
Yeah I do it’s weird to give him credit before beating a non boxer smaller guy just because he’s improved
He doesnt fight boxers so how is he a real boxer?
He is a boxer. An amateur boxer. Not professional boxer. He train for 3 years in boxing and have great coach. Jake paul is an amateur boxer at best.
"Real boxers", box, "real boxers", in boxing leagues.
Paul is as real a Boxer as iDubbz.
Disappointed to hear you try to legitimize Paul. Chooses opponents he has a significant advantage over and avoids established boxers.
Yes, he is. If you take fights and have a record, you're a fighter in that discipline doesn't matter what gatekeepers say.
Did not get in the ring with a pro boxer. He lost to an amateur boxer who competes.
This organization is a joke.😂
No test after the matches so this guy took everything to be in good shape.
He can box for sure but he isn't a serious boxer.
His only way to be legit for me is to beat Bakole in boxing... MMA/bkfc are not the same sport...
No
No, he isn't.
He isn't....he fights flops
Jake Paul will never be a boxer
No he’s not a good boxer, he’s looking like an amateur.
He’s is a very basic and I don’t understand this mma fighters they have not a good game plan.
Jake has no honour
No he isnt. He hasnt fought a real boxer. He is a carnival fighter. I'm calling out the disabled former champion Gerald Mcclellan out so i can say i hospitalised a former champion boxer. Make a video about me bro
He's a real boxer but, he'll never win a belt. He's only interested in fighting old washed up fighters for money
no he is not a real boxer he needs too fight someone his age and his own class he is not legit . all his fight are rigged and fake .
..... wut.....
He can't become a champion because he wouldn't pass the drug tests 💀💀💀
