This one is on a size 14 for presentation, but looks best on a 16. I tie some on down to size 22 - the morphologically correct size for a midge- but you can't use as much stuff on smaller sizes. There is a video of a size 22 midge among my shorts. Thanks for watching!
Several things i would have done different. It`s sad your so lazy for not using a black thread. The secmentation being to thick if used another thread - that is not correct mate. It`s easy to do insted of you going both ways with the thread.
@@onymphs we have to. Or else we all dont get better at our hobby. I never comment negative, but construvtive - huge difference. Again, i dont see the problem in using a Black thread all the way and then tie in a rib after the thorax (thin cream slik or tan).
True, using the marker is roughly the same time as threading in a new color. I guess there are almost infinite ways to tie a fly, and everybody does it in their own.
Sorry mate, but "it's sad your so lazy .. " doesn't qualify as constructive criticism. I think the segmentation is spot-on, he's got it exactly as he wants it and it looks great. It could be done another way, but so what? I also think his criss-cross method could be used to produce interesting effects. I've only been doing this for fifty years, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. You're watching this stuff to help you improve, and then slagging people for doing it different to you. That's a tad ironic, don't you think?
@@callumclark3358 everyone can stand some critics. Im not watching to do better mself. Been tying for 30+ years now and im doing ok and earn a good amount of money on my flies. Im only watching videos for the fun and intertainment, nothing else. If i mean there is a better way to tie it, im more than welcome to think so. And i do think there is a better way to tie it and it’s a fasterr way. Did it myself, so i do know so.

14 16
He said 16 but for my local rivers in Utah I prefer 20-22 size
Is that pubic or armpit hair you are using?
Haha I'm not sure deer have armpits.Sooo I would go with the first choice?
