As a semi United fan. My biggest fear is Skinner out only for them to replace him with Jonas 😢

I've been an Arsenal fan for years, and I can tell you my heart is broken. We've lost such great players, and the sad thing is that they go to other teams and play even better. I don't know if the franchise is getting ambitious or something or is all Jonas' fault... but damn, this hurt a lot. #COYG 😢

I'm not an Arsenal fan but strangely enough I agree with that commenter who said Arsenal just need to get their confidence back. They showed what quality they have in the 1st half against Bayern and in the 2nd half against Chelsea. A few more/regular performances like that and they should finish the season strong. Its up to Jonas to bring the confidence out of the players. If he cannot do that, then he needs to go.

Yeah Its like they have this "distant" relationship with Jonas. always seem on edge. I just pray they pull it together for the rest of the season! They have the goods!

I think we can all agree that the players, the coach and the staff were really trying to win the game and gave it their all. The defence was pretty poor, letting Chelsea score twice. The attack was also a bit off, only managing to score once. That's the story of the goals. In between, they were better, but they need to shoot more often and be more effective. The strikers need to act like they're out to kill.
I think something will have to change, but I don't think Arsenal are going to sack Jonas. Arsène Wenger was in charge of the Arsenal men's team for 22 years between 1996 and 2018. He won a lot of cups, but only won the Premier League three times, the last one in 2004. They kept him on this long. He was an amazing coach, though. They've had Arteta since 2019, and they haven't won the Premier League yet, although they almost made it last year. What I'm saying is that the club trusts the process and will keep Jonas, who was hired in 2021, unless the relationship with the team falls apart and the players have a serious conversation with the board.
Miedema left because she was no longer happy there and decided to take care of her mental health. I kind of think that what made her unhealthy was Jonas and the way he (not) put her to play.

Jonas as just as Annoying as Gustavson of Matildas. sweet spoken, you can tell this guy is not suppost to be a leader. he's just soft and more of sugar coated promises w/o conviction. even if bonmati and Walsh in squad, I doubt he can't even end up a runner up

I think Jonas coaching license is either forged or don’t even have one. They don’t do well in tight spaces and that’s why they find it hard to break teams with low-block, as a coach you need to evolve and have a solution to counter every defense but Jonas keeps repeating the same thing over and over again, it worked for him against City when he brought on Kafaji and they got the equalizer but yesterday he didn’t even play her, using the same tactics every game is boring and it worked in his first season but teams have figured him out and now it’s a problem because he’s clueless on what next to do.

I don't think they'll get rid of him till the international break if they're going to as next 2 they should win and does not give a new manager time. I think Stoney would be a good fit for them though. I'm concerned by williamsons form under him though. If I was Sarina I'd not be putting her in starting 11 presently.

One thing for sure after yesterday's match is Caitlin starts all our games from thenceforward. Player of the match. Look so much better with her on the starting line up.
The best team lost yesterday. Deserved so much better. A win.
Beth Med has to work extra hard. Start from the bench. Russo move to the right. Blackstenius leads the line.
I love having Mariona Caldentey in the team. She has brought the Barca tiki taka to the team.
Such a blessed squad that Frida starts from the bench. Want to see Cooney Cross getting some minutes. I miss Pelova when is she returning from her injury. Such a huge miss 😢😢😢. Leah very solid a the back. Handled Ramirez quite well. She's very hard to contain. Keep the faith and the hardwork. Win against both Chelsea and Man City in our return match and we have such a high chance of winning the league. Three horse race in my opinion. COYG.

I dont think Arsenal let Miedema go to back Jonas ...far from it ...that was rather a decision by the Club . The club always give the maximum support to the players but some these senior players dont have it in them to be at the top of the game anymore. So I feel this a critical season for all the players to convince the technical team to be part of the future of Arsenal. I wont be surprised if this season turns out to be the final season for many fan favorites at the Club.

Not fond of Arsenal WFC. Especially since they starting going through players like paper towels: Iwabuchi, Lacasse, Miedema. This year they have signed Kafaji and Caldentey which just goes on to show that they do not have a long term project of developping and integrating players: they just throw money at the latest wonderkid. I think more investment should go into the rest of the league : money is too concentrated in the big old Lundun clubs. So I hope that Arsenal remains mid-table where it belongs and we get somebody new in the Champions League next year. Of course, it might not happen: while going through random permutations, Eideval can happen upon a great combination of players, most of whom had been left languishing on the bench, and the team might start winning again. By the way, for wednesday, go Valerenga ! I hope they open up this Champions League group and make things interesting.

I think Williamson's performance is bad this season, she's not herself, too slow and not fit enough, we could see this against Bayern and now against Chelsea, she made a lot of mistakes... no idea what's wrong with her

Very sad to see!!!….Actually , Thought that Jonas looked very sad right before start of match when he listened to an anthem sung by the fans( that was on BBC coverage ( Sue UK)… He was not so crazy on the side lines. Also saw a very brief interview with Beth after match… wher she was rather evasive answering question about Jonas… ‘non commital…and awkward??….Also think I saw Leah ‘apparently in tears after match’….Something has to happen very soon…Match disappointing from both sides…Ramirez IS very good… but gets away with ‘murder’ with fouls etc….Leah booked … and nearly got a second.. both times with Ramirez….Caitlin Ford… got ‘really p**sed off with forwards NOT being Decisive enough…( which continues to be TRUE!!!… I think)…and decides to be aggressive and really attack the goal… and her goal was the best of the three, in this match !!👍….Can’t really add anymore…just a sad situation… (Bet Emma Hayes was feeling pleased… and ‘vindicated’… not about the win… because Chelsea weren’t that great either… But probably seeing Eidevall.. possibly ‘falling off his perch at Arsenal’…??!…

People need to stop blaming jonas he only picks the team but it’s about time the players take some responsibility and accountability for their poor performances so many talented players Caitlin Foord by far is arsenals best player so far this season and she cooked Lucy bronze the whole game

If you take Arsenal’s champions league qualifiers and the opening game against City, then compare them to the games from Leicester onwards, it looks like a different team on the pitch. Not specifically in terms of performance - Arsenal outplayed Bayern in the first half and were the better team for an hour of the game at the weekend - but in terms of confidence. What happened to cause this change? Beth Mead hasn’t been herself in the last few games, Russo started the season like it was going to be her best ever but has suddenly disappeared on the pitch, Kim Little hasn’t been her commanding self and the first half an hour on Saturday was the worst I’ve seen Leah Williamson play, though she improved as the game went on, she started with a look in her eyes like she really didn’t want to be out there. The defence was so shaky to start with, it looked like Chelsea would run away with it. But the support was amazing and once Caitlin Foord scored her goal, it was all Arsenal. From the energy in the stadium, it felt like everyone believed Arsenal were going to come from behind to win, including the Chelsea team (Nusken said in her post match interview “we were very lucky that we won”) and manager - it's unusual for a Chelsea manager to take off two attackers and replace them with two defenders. The only people there who seemed to lack that belief were the Arsenal players and it was that lack of confidence that really lost them the game. Where has that come from? Really, we’re all speculating. Though I can see that Maanum, Foord and Caldentey have been amongst the better players, I’d love to see Kafaji getting more minutes, to me she plays without fear and tries the spectacular though, yes, that does mean it will sometimes go wrong. Chelsea have looked even better than under Emma Hayes in parts of their games but have also faded and looked un-Chelsea-like for periods of all their games so far. They were impressively in control of an improved Real Madrid team but almost let it slip, they struggled against Palace in one half and scored six in the other half, they started like they would win easily at the Emirates then spent the rest of the game just hanging on. I guess they’ve only had a few games to adapt to life under Bompastor so far. Does anyone else feel that Lauren James isn’t going to be the same player under Sonia Bompastor, that Emma Hayes knew how to push her buttons to get the best out of her? Whereas Johanna Rytting Kaneryd has been on fire!

It's still a mans world in football and seems like they are hanging on to him despite that he is not a good fit, so to me seems like something more behind keeping him especially since they traded Viv. Now he looks like a major schmuck. Chelsea didn't look great but you had Reiton in the 10 for the first time, and still have Kerr and Fish out. Chelsea with Kerr and Ramirez? For-get-about-it! It's Chelsea and Man City now.
