オープニング映像は、絵コンテ・演出・作画監督をMARZA ANIMATION PLANETと沓名健一（くつな・けんいち）さんが手がけている。
沓名健一さんは10代からWeb上で作品を公開し、それが業界人の目にとまって20歳でアニメーターデビューしたクリエイター。その後、『交響詩篇エウレカセブン』『天元突破グレンラガン』『魔法少女まどか☆マギカ』などにも参加した人物だ。

アニメ自体は評価がまだ定まってないけど、このOP自体は今季ベストOPだと思う。けだるくシリアスでシュール、そしてサイケデリック。たとえ本編がこけてもこれは評価されるべきOPだと思う。詳しくは無いんだけど、色合いが昔のアニメっぽい、、、というか16mmフィルムつかってる？いや、分からないけど、何か80年代のレトロっぽさがあって、それも素敵

気づいておくべきだったんだ…一話で主人公とヒロインの親密度がMAXになってて視聴者おいてけぼりだったときから…離れることも考えておくべきだったんだ……
本編は荒く、勢いはあるが万人受けはしない、惜しい作品になってしまっているが、このオープニングは凄まじい。この狂気と密度が本編に出せたらと思うが、予算という枠組みの中ではこの作品は輝き切れなかった。とても惜しい

狂った情熱系の個人クリエイターが作ったインディーアニメのようだ…新しい、鮮烈
インディー感めっちゃわかる 大衆受けを考えなくて突き詰めてる感じだからかな
色んな意見はありつつもこういう挑戦的な作品個人的には結構好き、監督の博史池畠さんはくせ強い作品参加多いしカオスな気はしてた、今期はダークギャザリングの監督もしてるみたいだから楽しみ。
OPの監督、コンテの沓名健一さんもぶらどらぶのOPとかアニメーターとかでも印象的。
まったく整合性のないストーリーと絵が古い感じと時々画面がめちゃくちゃになるのが狂夢っぽくて好き
あと時々解像度上がるのもいいよね

Woah, I didn't expect to sense an insane amount of 2000-2010 (or 90s also, to be more accurated) vibes in here, in its every single element. Not to mention the combination of musical styles, the lyrics and the visuals' choreography are so unique and captivating!
This opening is like 2000s Gainax meets 2000s Shaft.
Disappointed to see that the whole anime does not have this style.

Fun fact: in a lot of cultures, the betta fish represents new beginnings or a new journey. In the promo for this anime, there is a girl who says "I will cherish this moment forever" or something similar, and then she disappears. In this intro, the singer says "I want to stop the recurring dream". This indicates some sort of stasis. The MC spitting the betta fish and then punching the monitor guy is likely a symbol for the the event that ends the stasis, likely ending Otaku Hero's life as a result (reason why he's unmoving and with flowers on him at the end of the intro).
Fun fact: the betta fish in the end of the video had evolved into a chadd fish, that represent basedness and gains in a lot of cultures.
The ending also looks very similar to "The Last Supper" art piece, and the MC is seen in the center with flowers, which could represent him as the colloquial "Jesus" within the show, as a savior of sorts
Reminds me of Boy's Abyss.
Sad fact: that poor fish is probably going to die/dead

I’ve been following this artist, Jun Inagawa, for a few years now and I’m really excited to see this work develop.
I have loved his distinct art style, as well as his creativity that he has pulled from his inspirations in order to create his own style.
I hope he may inspire many with this and many works to come.

i’ve been waiting on this anime for several months now and i’m so excited to see it finally releasing, this opening is absolutely amazing and i can’t wait to see the rest of the show and if it’s in a similar “crazy” sort of art style depicted in the opening

1:18 looks to me more like hemlock, which I'd say makes most sense when considering that hemlock is a more well-known poisonous flower than hogweed/snakeroot and the meaning of it in flower language is "you shall be my death" and the character is designed to be reminiscent of a Specific Character who that feels relevant to

このアニメは絶対に面白い。80年代以降のオタクの歴史をあるあるとパロディでテンポよく表現してて、最高の内輪ネタって感じで最高。ただその内輪にいない人に対して少し親切じゃないと思う時はあるかも。分かりづらいパロも結構あるし、制作側にも万人に伝える意思はなさそう

@@Benzinilinguine The show is already nuts enough to warrant an opening of that style if it’s going to continue to ramp up the craziness from that second episode. I’m just saying that I think that the opening and ending are the way that they are BECAUSE there’s something else to it. A crazy opening like that doesn’t NECESSARILY mean that something is gonna change, I just think it is. I actually feel like the ending is more of a give away than the opening. The opening is nuts, much like the premise and first two episodes thus far, but the ending is just…wrong.

i don't think i've ever seen a bigger mismatch between a fantastic OP/ED and a completely forgettable show in the middle than this one
It's pretty amazing the animation quality and killer songs in the OP/ED but then the show itself was a mishmash of incoherent plot elements, unmotivating characters and a complete disconnect from any relatable real life experiences. At least it the story was original instead of generic, I'll give it credit for that.
