I serviced a 2013 2 ltr Astra yesterday. who ever decided to put the oil filter with no room had to take the driver wheel off. and use a 32mm low profile socket.
@@RustyNLC have you had any experience with fiat 500 on dash saying excess radiator fluid temperature. I've been asked to look at one. I know they have issues with the thermostat. 🔧🔧🚘🚘
@@meirionevans9088 I’d check the thermostat, the thermostat housings tend to crack/leak, and also check the temp sensor. Iv come across a fair few that have failed.
If the car has an actual dip stick fitted then you can use that, if it has a digital level (no dip stick fitted) then you have to rely on the onboard level reading.
If I remember correctly according to Vauxhall the recommended torque for this cars sump plug was 14nm, Some Vauxhall sump plugs are 20-25nm, it won’t hurt going slightly tighter, just don’t go too tight (more than 25nm) otherwise you risk stripping thread. Just be sure to change the washer/O ring for a new one. 👍🏻
Just bought an astra k 2 weeks ago so been looking for vids like this much appreciated

Yep it’s a pain. It’s the same on the Vauxhall insignia’s also. 😖

It's a 1.6 cdti on the Astra k
That’s Correct, I service way too many 1.7cdti so it was a false of habit/slip of the tongue in my part 🤦♂️,
I have opel astra my own is messin up with oil and water
Doesn’t sound good, if toil and water are mixing it Could be a failed oil cooler, or an issue with head gasket.
@RustyNLC how many litres of oil did you drain? and how much did you have to fill back in in order for it to be just before the maximum capacity?
Around 4.5litres
@@RustyNLC thanks!
B16DTH?? max. 4 Litres (better 3,5)! RTFM 😉
He always looks as if he is doing something naughty and the wife could come round the corner at any time.
Great help thanks very much
Do you need that computer or can you also meassure it with the oil dip stick ?

Do you by any chance know where is the oil filter located on zafira 1.6 diesel 2017?
Without knowing your registration to determine the exact engine code, it will either be tucked on too, or at the bottom towards the back
Hi for when a coolant change for astra k?! ...thanks
Ideally You need to test the coolant with a coolant tester to see what temperature it’s effective to, or change every 3 years as Routine maintenance
I have change the coolant is 2 weeks now
