      We have never tested the Croco. It seems to be a fine bike but there is nothing that stands out about it.

      If you're going down steep hills, you should definitely look for a balance bike with a handbrake!

    Have you looked at the yvolution y velo bike? We were gifted one so just trying to see if I should return and use the funds for one of your options. I do love the detailed info on all ages and the different bikes!

      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  Рік тому

      Hi Hannah! For its price, its a pretty decent bike. Its primary drawback is that the seat post has specific height settings, so you can’t really dial in a perfect fit for your growing child. We also highly recommend air tires, which provide much more cushioning and traction. Depending on your budget, we also recommend a hand brake, but that puts you in the $199 range. Although a child won’t be able to use a handbrake until probably the last several months of their balance bike experience, it is incredibly helpful when they start to get more aggressive. It also makes the transition to a pedal bike easier because they already know how to use a hand brake.

    We got our 2 yr old daughter the budget Strider just to see if she'd like riding balance bikes. She LOVES it! Asks to ride her bicycle every day. So now we want to get her a premium balance bike for her 3rd birthday. Do you recommend the Pello or the Woom 1+? Or given that this video is a couple years old, is there something even better now?

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  2 роки тому

      Hey Michael! The woom 1+ will have more room for growth if she will fit on it. How tall is she? It's the right size for kids approximately 37" - 43"

    Question - the Strider 14x - why do you say the pedal set allows your child to pedal for only a couple months?

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  4 роки тому +4

      The crank arms on the Strider 14x are very small, which means the child needs to make very small circles with their legs when they pedal. As a result, once kids learn to master pedaling on the Strider 14x, they quickly outgrow the pedal portion as they end up trying to pedal too fast and their feet slip off the pedals. As a result, the Strider 14x is a great balance bike as a great starter pedal bike, but kids will quickly outgrow it as a pedal bike.

    I bought two balance bikes (without knowing to do research first) for my 17 month old twins. The bikes are too tall. How can I lower them? I read something about fork setters. Will I have to go to a bike shop? They were cheap bikes. No way could I afford two of these high-dollar bikes. They are Zycom I think. My daughter is REALLLLLLY tiny and short. I don't see her fitting on this balance bike properly for several years. :( Any tips?

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes

      Younger toddlers were generally referring to one to two-year-olds. While older toddlers would be about 2.5 to 3.5.

      We agree that it's an incredible bike! We tested it several years ago and our toddlers loved it. We just wish that it had a handbrake at that price.
