This vise is the best vice. Even for commercial loads. I am a long time customer. Not from spawn but bought this 3 years ago. I own and have owned many many vises. In my realm of tying, I tye for all over the world. I love the meat jaws and tube adaptors. I removed the arm (annoying) and recommended Stonfo supply an piece extension to the shaft. You have to either adjust your chair or desk height. I won't buy another flavor of vise. Yes, I have all the big names. Great vise highly recommend. I would of cranked out min 20k of flies and tubes on this and still like new.
Amen! I am 6'4 and my only complaint is that the shaft is short. I ended up buying an aluminum rod and mounting it through my desk. I love the different heads because I fish for Stripers, Hybrids, Bass, Trout, etc and this vise does it all. It will be my last vise. Love all the Stonfo products.
I’m thinking about upgrading to this for one really specific, dumb reason…the rotary handle. A lot of other higher end vises just don’t come with that and I’ve grown realllyyy used to it as an ergonomic thing. I feel like I’d be constantly grabbing for something that isn’t there. The remaining features are kind of just bonuses, really…
I understand that whole heartedly. The handle is amazing and feels very natural with the smooth movement of the rotary function. You would definitely be happy with this vise.
Andy Renzetti may have invented the true rotary .... but Stonfo perfected it. The Stonfo Transformer gives you three vises in one at a "non gouging" price point. Note: Get the angle joint! It shows Stonfo has the engineering insight to consider ergonomics in being comfortable while tying. No more over the table hunchbacked. For $50 it's a no brainer. And it freed up my base post for accy mounts. I fish salt water and I've had to replace my Traveler multiple times from corrosion. Those trips where I left my vise in the tackle bag for 2 days after I got home and when I pulled it out the aluminum was ruined. This last year has been with a Transformer. 90+% stainless steel. And the carbon steel jaws, for some odd reason, have never rusted in the humid salt water regions I've put it through? Should have bought this vise 8 years ago. It's a lifetime professional vise at a moderate price. Cons: The cradle arm lock screws need to be longer. They get to a point where spinning the cradle wears the screw tip down and they eventually are bottomed out with no grip. Those screws are hollow? I bought 3mm stainless bearing balls and put one in the holes in front of the 2 screws. Grips even better than original. Con: If you use the parachute clip (I don't) they'll fall out when changing the cradle configuration.

Truly a workhorse machine. Thanks for watching!
@SpawnFlyFish I think the 'little brother' to this vicewas the Caimen? had a clamp option but I don't think they were interchangeable. Cheers

Gidday Pete. Great review. Thanks.
Thanks, Ken! Best vise I've ever used!
Thanks Pete. I’m kicking myself for choosing the elite versus the transformer. I love my vice, but I like yours better.
The Elite is still an amazing vise! I tie on mine in the shop all the time. Thanks for your feedback!

Good to hear, man…something tells me I’ll have one of these by the time the “busy season” starts ramping up
Thank you! I really enjoyed your review of this vise. I'm in the exploration phase of fly tying.
Absolutely! Give us a call at the shop if there are any questions we can help answer!
I love my transformer vise it’s the best of all time
Tough to beat the Stonfo!
