A couple of notes. The dump bed lift is not hydraulic, it's electric. The lever by the gear shift is a differential lock. Great for mud and snow, but almost impossible to steer on concrete. Will also wear the tires out very fast on concrete. I have the diesel model. Only problem in 16 years is I had to replace some clutch parts a couple times.
Can that be used for plowing? I have a large parcel of land and a long driveway
@@MichaelJosephJr934 Not good for plowing or pulling large loads.
FYI: It's always in four wheel drive, the rear wheels drive. That lever is the differential lock that locks the right and left rear wheels together. A casual look under the front end will reveal there is no front drive axle.
Nice. John Deere makes some nice equipment. If they can just make a seat that doesn't rip...
I bought a 10yo used LA130, got a deal, used the hell out of it for 4 years, and sold it for exactly what I paid. Got to love a Deere!
Thank you for the info! Thinking of purchasing a used one for my land.
This brings back so many memories :) I bought a 2002 Gator 6x4 When I was 13 Years old. That beast had A roll bar, LED lights and all 1400 Hours. I ran the heck outta that thing Used to pull a 6x12 trailer with all my equipment on it, (There were some hills where I would slow down to 6-7 MPH but it did it! Lots of work use and endless hours of laps around the neighborhood with friends, Good times, wish I never started driving and stuck with the gator, never should have sold that thing.
Think that’s just the diff lock and it’s permanent 4 wheel drive
With the non differentiating tandem rear axle set, the turning ability kinda blows. But it’s a cool littler work truck. It a good looking little beast.
@TheLawnCareKid Great video. I subscribed. I wonder if you can tell me what battery is in this one ... I'm getting ready to replace mine and the prior one only lasted a few years. It was an Interstate D21.
Can it be used to plow?
What tires are those and how is the traction with them
Man I can think of a million different uses for one of them. I'd like to give me some kind of utility side by side eventually
Don’t forget the fact that you can dump me out the back. Lmao
How do you till what model you have
My gator does not like the cold at all. Once cold it does not seem to warm up entirely. Other than that unstoppable.
How much? Looking at a 200 diesel for $600 with 1200 on the Hobbs. Seems to good to be true.
4:44 "Not Sure" light is oil pressure
I have one of these at work.
Nice video
What kind of transportation do you think is the best for someone who has yards all over and only has a self-propelled mower Weedwhacker and backpack leaf blower
Try and save for ride on mower to tow your setup.
Get a polaris ranger and small trailer
Would you be able to do a full setup tour with all your equipment?
Yep. I will. Gonna be doing a lot of equipment upgrades this year.
hi nice gator. You might want to check the serial number. I am not sure, but the Deere logos on the front and steering wheel are pre year 2000. Just a suggestion.

These Gators are meant to be used on Remote islands .Floares Island BC . A lot of the Ahousaht Nation use and invested on these John Deere Gator
Who else’s first experience driving something was one of these?
Nope. Mine was a kawasaki mule
Damn, to think I was the only one 🤣
Nice
It turns better with the diff lock off .

What state are you in? Just curious. I'm in UP Michigan.
Michigan 💪
@@thelawncarekid I don't know how, I had a feeling. Lol. But hey, Ive researched Kawasaki Mule, Polaris Ranger, and Honda Pioneer, Coleman, CF Moto, but it looks like they are more or less "toys" when I compare them to a Gator of the Work Series. I'm probably going to be getting a new 2023 TX. I would like a HPX615E but it's a little bit more than I can afford. It's really nice to see you're putting a lot of effort into your business and life to be successful and self sufficient. I currently have a home in the Keweenaw, but am looking for a larger piece of property in more of a rural area. .... You can look at other brands of equipment ( Kubota etc.) all day long, but at the end of the day, John Deere has the worldwide dealer network, diehard fans, and the best resale value. 🐕🐶🐾.
Mine was bent in half we fixed and it work for like 6 years then it dead and it sat in our yard for 2 year a the plastic fell apart and we are now trying to fix it
Does it a giant turning radius?
It's not terrible.
We have a normal gas version 6x4 and a yeah it has a pretty good radius, I can do 360s within maybe a 10 ft radius in a circle
YO YO YO GUYS!!!! WHATS UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!!!
🇺🇸👍
My gator is beat to hell with 17k hours. They are unkillable.
I want one
