Here's a thought that came to me half a year to a year ago: Nintendo should bring back the N Sports branding and put a bunch of old properties like this under it with remakes or new entries. 1080, WaveRace, ExciteBike/ExciteTruck (didn't care for ExciteBots...), Cruisin', hell let's get an N Sports style Pilotwings like Factor 5 was gonna make at one point. On top of that, let's add some modern features like online play and leaderboards, custom avatars and Mii integration.
But one thing that I think would help keep this N Sports branding together would be a consistent cast. Let these games have a few exclusive characters and then have others characters be involved across all the N Sports titles, like how Ricky Winterborn is mainly for 1080 but gets a playable role in WaveRace Blue Storm. Finally, let's see if we can get more extreme sports added on. I know some people with an itch to play a skateboarding game that's not Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 due to how broken that game is.

TruExtent I agree. Not sure if this is what u had in mind but I was also thinking maybe just have a release of a game that included all these extreme sports in it. Essentially they are very similar games with trick modes, races, etc. Would be awesome to see a single Nintendo game where you could create a character and compete in leaderboards and time trials across all the different extreme sports. Waverace, 1080, a skating game, bmx (loved Dave Mirra back in the day), and so on. New releases would just be add-ons to the overall game. IDK, but I feel like there is an awesome idea there somewhere.

I still contend that Avalanche has the best licensed soundtrack of any Nintendo game. Cauterize is such an amazingly underrated band (they did the title screen music).

I was hoping for a video like this! I grew to adore 1080 Avalanche growing up.
I personally went through all of the time trials and made sure we had all of the coins, just so I could finally say that we have everything unlocked.

Also I'm probably late to mention this, but have you heard of Dark Summit? If I'm remembering correctly, it's a more story-based take on the snowboarding genre while keeping that stylish vibe of the mid 00's. Your mention of having a touring mode in a new 1080° reminded me of it. Otherwise, the closest we got is SSX On Tour's career mode. Swicked video, though!
