Why holding a charity plant sale is not difficult and can do immeasurable good x

- Holding a small plant sale in your community can be transforming, not just to the charity you raise funds for, but for bringing neighbours together, fostering new friendships, and making you feel that you can do something positive in the world.
In this clip I give you some top tips for how and why you might hold a plant sale. We are holding ours on 11th May in aid of our village churches, the village hall, The Treatment Bag and our local horticultural charity The Growing Space in Wincanton.
You might have a community garden which needs support, a gardening project in a local school, prison or hospital, there might be a small gardening charity in your neighbourhood which is doing huge amounts of good work with very little financial support or PR.

In Norway during garden or farm events it is common to set up a table with soil and an adult with pots and seeds, and children are able to walk home with a pot of self sown sunflower seed or a planted potato etc. agriculture store tends to have a happening were they give away potatoes and buckets with soil for planting potatoes in, very popular too ( need a sponsor for that though) wish You all the best on your plant sale!

I will find a way to join this effort! I have poor accessibility at my driveway outside my home garden, but there is a community garden near me and I'll reach out to them to brainstorm. Hello Georgie, This is Sherry from USA, zone 6b, along the shores of Lake Erie. My garden club has a plant sale every May. We start out organized but, somehow we end up with plants on tables or on the floor. I don't always know what you are talking about. A lucky dip? Anyway I hope both our sales are a great success.

Can you give me some advice to grow eryngium from seeds. I've bought different varieties such as alpinum superbum, bourgatii, giganteum Miss Wilmott's Ghost, planum and yuccifolium. I've been sowing them in february outside in a tray without any success, I've tried again inside with my tomatoe seeds but it's still not growing ! What would you recommand ? try putting them in the freezer for a couple of weeks - then hold your breath for lots more weeks - these guys do not germinate in a hurry x
