How do you forget about it after all these games? Start a mental mantra as soon as you play it "do you pay? Do you pay? Do you pay?" Don't stop that mantra.
Concerning your comment at the end. Ways for lifelink in monoblue are pretty scarce but Loxodon Warhammer or Batterskull seems like the best options. They pump your commander damage considerably since the sliver and islandwalk helps with it connecting and are somewhat tutorable in blue. Another option would be Basilisk Collar. Love the show. Best wishes.
I started laughing when I saw it in play. Maybe switch it to mystic remora. Your are more likely to get cards from its trigger because people don't want to pay for and it goes away sooner due to cumulative upkeep.
To remember my rhystic study triggers I used to put it in the middle of the table and then would rotate it around to each players board side slightly so whenever I looked at their board during their turn I would see it.
To be fair the trigger is automatic so even if you forget you should be able to draw the cards later if you remember since the onus is on the caster to pay for the trigger. If they don't pay you may draw a card, they didn't pay so you can draw.
I think equipment that provides lifelink is a good tie-in for Mistform. I'm building a MF deck myself and I'm putting Loxodon Warhammer and Umezawa's Jitte in there as some cards to get that effect.
Trevor attacked you with a Kozilek, why did you not just kill him :/ He then attacked you a second time with Kozilek... He deserved no mercy, he ate eight of your permanents! That being said, I was really happy with how your Mistform deck performed, and I think your analysis is a good one!
It's not really enjoyable watching a game that would have gone completely differently, if 20 Rhystic Studies triggers weren't missed. However the Mistform Ultimus deck is one of the most unique and interesting decks I've seen.
Missed triggers are a thing. It's not like they create some alternate reality that shouldn't exist, where the game has an outcome that "shouldn't" have happened. It happened and some fun interesting gameplay happened.
Chuubii the last game had a ton of misplays too, I couldn't watch it because of them. I hope this isn't a trend, I don't like watching games with lots of misplays.
I totally agree with your assessment of the generic lords in the deck being a bit underwhelming. Love the idea of the deck, an awesome concept. Nothing like having a Mutant Ninja Turtle as your commander!
No. Brie made a suggestion last night that I cast it only in Zedruu and then immediately donate it away. I never forget a Zedruu trigger, so guaranteeing one draw VS missing 17 seems like a good move.
That Mistform deck is really cool man! Definitely a lot smoother than the last time you played it too. I really like seeing the progression of the deck. Keep it up man!
I don't think I'd casually allow an Eldrazi Titan take out like 10 of my permanents without putting a clock on that player. Sure, Divine Visitation is scary, but you didn't have enough gas to take out three people with aggro after 1. Missing all the Study triggers, 2. Eating multiple Annihilator attacks, and 3. Not picking up Cyclonic Rift. The number of +1/+1 Lords in your deck looks like your 4th-biggest concern here, if it's even a problem.
generic 1st comments Matt playing my current commander right now. Tokens with Lifelink and Vigilance is exquisite. ^_^ Also, its been a while since we had a display of Trevor's big guns. :3 Last one: When will we see the return of Evil Adam?
To be honest: I dont think anyone is able to get all the study triggers and even if you missed a lot of triggers just think about it. For a three mana enchantment you were able to draw at least 6 cards. VALUE!
So, I'm not seeing any other comments on this so I wanted to point this out, but Yahenni should have been gigantic, as she/they have the phrase "Whenever a creature an opponent controls dies, put a +1/+1 counter on Yahenni".
People are saying Muddstah should drop Rhystic Study from the deck because he always forgets about the triggers... I disagree. On the contrary, he should be using it even more until he becomes good at remembering the triggers. When I first started using counterspells in my blue decks, I sucked at figuring out what to counter and what to let resolve and paid the price with defeat multiple times until I finally learned.
Why on earth would you waste Mana-drain on *Mistform Ultimas*??? That's such a complete waste! And then you cough out something powerful as Worldbreaker for a SOL RING? Listen, I've blown up signets and rings plenty of times, but never with special removal.
Would love a game with Yennett cryptic sovereign, thinking about buying the deck because it looks like a ton of fun though worried it's too commander oriented.
Not really that many valid lifegain options in mono-blue. As a creature centric deck the best ones are likely the equipment ones Batterskull, Loxodon Warhammer and Umezawa's Jitte. For more casual on the side lifegain there is Pristine Talisman and Staff of Domination or as a defensive card Sun Droplet which is suprisingly effective, however that is a do nothing so I would rather go for some of the others. If you are crazy you could also go for Ivory Tower, Tower of Eons or Aetherflux Reservoir.
Still being super offended by people hating out the most unique tribal deck, specifically after complaining about getting halved two turns in a row. (Or the Teysa that is just going nuts.) Seriously though, Mistform is becoming one of my favorite commander decks.
i still got a feeling after all this time, that most of Trevor his decks are kind of out of your league. With league, i mean the other 3 players :p which means it's archenemy
So, what did we learned today? Discarding cyclonic rift is not an optimal play... Keeping the guy who have eldrazi and boots on the field alive might not be the best idea... You MAY draw a lot of cards with a rhystic study. Notice the Emphasis on "MAY" ;)
I'm super happy that trevor guy dies first. Plays annoying ass eldrazi and has maybe the WORST Threat assessment I've ever seen. 2 annihilators attacks in a row at the mono blue lords instead of the guys getting 2 lands per turn or the divine visitation deck. Simply Amazing.
On the one hand, Mistform could have out-clocked him if he tried to slog through two other players first. On the other hand, Mistform elected not to retaliate or attempt to talk him out of it for multiple combats, getting flattened as a result....?
It was a little puzzling why our narrator declined to eliminate him for a few turns in a row after getting Mana Drained/Worldbreakered early, and then used as Ulamog's punching bag.
Once again, I dig the similarities between the Teysa Karlov decks and my own Orzhov deck (Tymna & Ravos): the only difference is that I have a bigger focus on creature recursion, rather than token generation.
Dude you might as not even have that Study in your deck, it's just taking up space since you can never remember its trigger lmao! Still love ya though man!
Late reply but Mistform Ultimus has that bit about walls because its every creature type. At the time of its initial printing Defender wasn't yet a keyword and so the "this card can't attack" was an innate attribute of creatures with the Wall type.
*Rhystic Study is the bane of my existence.*
How do you forget about it after all these games? Start a mental mantra as soon as you play it "do you pay? Do you pay? Do you pay?" Don't stop that mantra.
My heart hurts so badly. I had to leave the game midway.
You should've used the Rhystic Dice of Shame. :)
I counted 17 missed rhystic study triggers before it was sacrificed...
This needs to continue in all future episodes, even with games without rhystic study
Matt also missed all his Yahenni triggers.
17 extra cards that would've probably helped him win the game....
Trevor seems like the kind of guy i would focus out every game
Rhystic study and no dice of shame? My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. Great game though
"I play scavenger grounds to hate people on the way out" *doesn't use it when he dies* --- wut
I don't get how nobody killed Trevor earlier. I just hate Eldrazi+ Counterspells
I loved the backing track for this game, it had a super classic adventure style sound that I want more of!
I love your Mistform deck. Such a labor of love!
More Mistform?! Say no more, I'm hooked! 😁
Really enjoy the Commander content and it’s also my birthday today so thanks MTG Muddstah for the videos
Happy Birthday!
MTG Muddstah Wooo a UA-camr said happy birthday to me. Thank you!
Happy birthday Magicarp! 🎂
Those who play Eldrazi have no room to complain about other effects.
I was thinking the same thing!
I play Eldrazi and I agree lol
My kind of people, I had to pause the video at that point wondering if I was an outlier
Ulamog, the Infinite Hunger?
I think you mean Ulamog, the Ceaseless Gyre
I think equipment that provides lifelink is a good tie-in for Mistform. I'm building a MF deck myself and I'm putting Loxodon Warhammer and Umezawa's Jitte in there as some cards to get that effect.
Warhammer is definitely something I might dabble with. The trample is useful if I have none of my evade-granters out.
"Im building a MotherFucker deck"
Omfg
7:15 “I forget to draw because I’m bad at magic”. 😂😂😂 welcome to our world man! Good news is we have cookies! Bad news is we forgot to bake them....
Trevor attacked you with a Kozilek, why did you not just kill him :/
He then attacked you a second time with Kozilek...
He deserved no mercy, he ate eight of your permanents!
That being said, I was really happy with how your Mistform deck performed, and I think your analysis is a good one!

the study triggers hurt lol
Missed triggers are a thing. It's not like they create some alternate reality that shouldn't exist, where the game has an outcome that "shouldn't" have happened. It happened and some fun interesting gameplay happened.

Dad with the sexy mistform again pog
I totally agree with your assessment of the generic lords in the deck being a bit underwhelming. Love the idea of the deck, an awesome concept. Nothing like having a Mutant Ninja Turtle as your commander!
Was impressed with your focus on rhystic study this game. Always nice seeing Mirko Vosk in action - great game!
So are you cutting rhystic from all your decks now? :D
I think I might have watched every Teysa video on yt lol...SO GOOD, more pls : )
These videos are awesome! I hope more come out! great pace and setup, easy to follow and also study. Keep it up
I kept track of how many Rhystic study triggers were not mentioned. There were 16. Best of Luck to you Muddstah
Ik this is an old vid, but why not attack the guy with the Kozileck? In my playgroup Eldrazi titans are threats
Muddstah it's time to return the dice of shame
Die*
Plural of die is dice.
To be fair, I might have needed more than one.

I suppose this is what happens when a player is ignored for 10 rounds.
I don’t know which is more iconic
Muddstah missing land drops
Or
Muddstah missing rhystic study triggers
@5:45 since Matt used Yaheni to sacrifice his creature, should Curse of the Swine fizzle entirely?
generic 1st comments
Matt playing my current commander right now. Tokens with Lifelink and Vigilance is exquisite. ^_^
Also, its been a while since we had a display of Trevor's big guns. :3
Last one: When will we see the return of Evil Adam?
Evil Adam sadly moved away.
He's moved away, but there are other Adams in the games who can also be considered evil.
Aww. I kinda miss him, in a wrestling heel sort of way.
Dope game! BTW we'd love to have you on the podcast to talk about that sweet Mistform deck, if you're interested. We ❤️ it.
Sure! Hit me up on Facebook and we can hash out the details.
@@MTGMuddstah Will do! We'll get in touch soon.
2:47 Trevor with the spider fingers.
Do you guys have deck lists because mikes deck seemed like a lot of fun
So glad to see Trevor's biceps make a comeback.
i love the music for this one
Don't feel bad, Matt missed all the Yahenni death triggers too... it should have had 20+ counters on it.
You should totally do a mistform deck tech. I made one and love watching yours in action
Idea for rhystic study.
Every person puts a rhystic study reminder token in there hands
Gotta love the new intro.
To be honest: I dont think anyone is able to get all the study triggers and even if you missed a lot of triggers just think about it. For a three mana enchantment you were able to draw at least 6 cards. VALUE!
Some spotty threat priority in this game.
So, I'm not seeing any other comments on this so I wanted to point this out, but Yahenni should have been gigantic, as she/they have the phrase "Whenever a creature an opponent controls dies, put a +1/+1 counter on Yahenni".
Always enjoyable to watch.
Unesh was surprisingly good in your deck. Great game!
Super fun game. Love that dimir deck.
People are saying Muddstah should drop Rhystic Study from the deck because he always forgets about the triggers... I disagree. On the contrary, he should be using it even more until he becomes good at remembering the triggers.

Man I would have so killed that Trevor guy out of spite. He was after you that whole freaking game
Great video, enjoyable commentary.
Fun game: count how many triggers were missed in this video
The answer may shock you!
The best part about Mistform is that he can be a generic goblin noise, considering generic and noise are creature types...
Not really that many valid lifegain options in mono-blue. As a creature centric deck the best ones are likely the equipment ones Batterskull, Loxodon Warhammer and Umezawa's Jitte. "Can you imagine someone playing Secure the Wastes with that?"
Waaaaay ahead of you
I guess I will leave the obligatory creep comment about how nice Trevor's arms are. Also, rhystic study was rough
Ulamog the Infinite Hunger? I always thought it was different name. Well looks like I’m wrong 😂
Weird to see Mirko not being a mill deck. In fact, did he ever bring him out?
Still being super offended by people hating out the most unique tribal deck, specifically after complaining about getting halved two turns in a row. (Or the Teysa that is just going nuts.) Seriously though, Mistform is becoming one of my favorite commander decks.
I feel like there were just as many missed Yahenni triggers as there were study triggers, so you're fine
Why make a deal with him when he hit you 3 times with annihilator...
i still got a feeling after all this time, that most of Trevor his decks are kind of out of your league. With league, i mean the other 3 players :p which means it's archenemy
When you blocked with unesh, wasnt it a sliver? And you had shifting sliver? #AlwaysBlameRhysticStudy
I noticed that too.
Shadow is a double edged sword. Can't block or be blocked except by other shadow creatures.
Trevor's biceps...that had annihilator too.
No red makes Dom sad. Mono red is true power
Burn
Burn
BURRRRRRRRREN
Dang, I was hoping to see a Mirko Vosk deck, one that actually cares about what Mirko does...
So, what did we learned today?
Discarding cyclonic rift is not an optimal play...
Keeping the guy who have eldrazi and boots on the field alive might not be the best idea...
You MAY draw a lot of cards with a rhystic study. Notice the Emphasis on "MAY" ;)
Mistform is my favorite deck of yours
Could I get the deck tech for Mirko Vosk and/or Teysa? Please
One day you'll remember your rhystic study triggers. That'll be the day Jerrard of the Closed Fist becomes tier 1
ALL HAIL THE illusion LORD MISTFORM ULTIMUS! also you should packed up and left after all these missed study triggers..
Trevor didn't attack with his World Breaker like four turns in a row. Whyyyyy?
Trevor's bicep still looking good.
Mike's deck is totally a deck I'd make.
Another Mirko Vosk deck that avoided hate so much it won at the end.
He didnt even cast Mirko Vosk
How tf can someone miss the very first cast card after slamming rhystic study. And so so many others
A lot of skill on my part.
Cuz Andrew talks...and never shuts up lol
Poor Yahenni, he was indestructible HAHAHA
Can we all pitch in to get Muddstah a Rhystic Study playmat? ;)

On the other hand, Mistform elected not to retaliate or attempt to talk him out of it for multiple combats, getting flattened as a result....?
I really dislike salty players like Trevor.
It was a little puzzling why our narrator declined to eliminate him for a few turns in a row after getting Mana Drained/Worldbreakered early, and then used as Ulamog's punching bag.
Man, one of those islands was very woody
Trevor looked so distraught over the swan song
Once again, I dig the similarities between the Teysa Karlov decks and my own Orzhov deck (Tymna & Ravos): the only difference is that I have a bigger focus on creature recursion, rather than token generation.
Sounds like Trevor complains wayyy too much for playing shit like Jin-Gitaxias
how is Trevor flashing in his creatures?
Dude you might as not even have that Study in your deck, it's just taking up space since you can never remember its trigger lmao! Still love ya though man!
Another great game
Love your channel
Why didnt Trevor just cast Ulamog, equip greaves and sent the two big chunguses at someone?
Trevors deck seems fun
Going with Teysa... He's trying it out, but Why not.
I'm a simple man I see Teysa, I press like
did trevor forget about rhystic study when he first cast Kruphix? ohhhh i think he did.
Mistform is the most interesting deck I’ve ever seen.
Also why does it say weren’t a wall
Late reply but Mistform Ultimus has that bit about walls because its every creature type. At the time of its initial printing Defender wasn't yet a keyword and so the "this card can't attack" was an innate attribute of creatures with the Wall type.
It's new Oracle text doesn't say that as walls have been erratated to have the defender ability.
sooooo what about the missed Yahenni triggers lol
You might need to invest in the dice of shame
Did you guys catch that when he said ulamog the infinite hunger lol.
That was a great game!!
Don't feel bad, I forgot to study a lot back in the day.
