Man I am just happy that Bleach is back. Not that I was waiting for 10 years (only 3 years) but it's good to be back. Great breakdown dude. Me dumb in animation department so I don't mind reused frames unless they are super obvious lol. Can't wait for next big fight which is probably in episode 9 or 10. Which is actually a swordfight. Thanks man🙏 There isn't anything inherently wrong with limited animation (still frames) my expectations are just too high, partially cuz of the currently airing csm and mob, both those shows pretty much never use limited animation. Hopefully there will be a few more episodes with this level of visuals down the line

I think the overall bleach animation this season is above average with episode 2 having smooth animations during quilge's screentime and parts in the first episode. However it is true that I wanted bleach to have animations to blow other shows out of the water which it didn't except this episode. But I'm satisfied nonetheless and great video

Lmaooo episode 2 was complete dog water. The entire episode is pretty much “show a still image with speed lines of character getting ready to strike, then cut away to a smoke cloud implying that the character striked”😂 please don’t bring up animation when talking tybw
I feel this so hard. As an animator myself it was tough seeing my favourite series not getting the love it deserves in the animation department (especially airing alongside two sakugafest masterpieces) especially when people rave about the movie level animation when they were really talking about the amazing lighting and compositing. But this episode blew my expectations out the water 🔥🔥 loving this content btw, u planning on doing a short breakdown of ep 7 by any chance?

Yeah it’s really a shame. Huge bleach fan myself and I must say I was very dissatisfied with the animation so far. Me personally I feel as if bleach deserved better after waiting 10 years for its return. All the casual watchers will claim it’s “peak” and “movie level” when they quite literally don’t even know what animation is. Of course those same fans get really defensive and claim you aren’t a bleach fan when you point this out as well.

also do you happen to know which freelancers are working on the wano episodes in one piece spifically in ep 1015 thats the last episode i saw i think and it looked good i was surprised because for more than 800 episodes one piece never looked that good so it has to be the work of freelancers

Editing in general isn't an issue, it's just that without a facecam, it's really hard to come up with a roll footage...the longer the vid the more complicated it becomes, once I start doing facecams that issue will be solved

I don't think this 1st cour was anything near cinema animation,but honestly people are still exaggeration when they say this animation is bad
As you said,still images are not very good,but also not very bad either. I would say,thanks to the blue-ray as well,this 1st cour gave us nice animation
Movements are not the only thing that matters. Characters design,use of lights and adding places (that are not really present in the manga),made it good
I hope animators will improve for the next cours. I don't mind still images,just no need to use them so much. Same for the flashbacks,which is honestly what annoyed me the most

I do wish the cgi was a bit better in movement and the color was a burned black instead of just pure red like in the manga or the brave souls games but other then that this episode was amazing and I could understand the cgi being as is manly because pierrot doesn't have that much experience with cgi compared to mappa or ufotable.
I remember the cgi from Naruto, with the whole army thing, and oh boy that was awful, this is like, academy award winning cgi compared to that

Yeah I guess everything is better since this is kinda a seasonal show and this episode amazing but it's not perfect for example the background fire looks okay. Not the foreground fire of course because that amazing. And I found the music lacking in some cases still amazing episode not perfect but amazing and one of the best episode this year imo it's my second favorite only to the incredible ep 10 never give up.
Idk bout that but what i can say the CGI in this BLEACH did a great job on cgi except the first episode there is some goof Hollow movement i can't get over with.. but other then that it was great! I heard they also did the CGI in Akudama Drive which was also great.. but i dont know about Mappa CGI they look trash but Ufotable CGI is freakin godly so far ouh and also SANZIGEN.
@@kurasakikenji honestly the hollow cgi movement is fine until the top of the building scene. Also most mappa cgi models are good. Tho some enviremont cg on jjk is pretty bad.

It does, but most episodes also that have one or two standout cuts, Norimitsu Suzuki stuff on three episodes, shuu suguta's cut on the recent ep...

So I was referencing the 6th episode
Bleach has been more visually pleasing to look at than Mob Psycho 100 and this episode 6 has probably been the most beautiful episode all year. ignore "Sakuga enthusiast" who thing animation is all just about "character animation and fabric movement". Episode 1,2 and 6 have looked stellar and 4 & 5 have been above average ... with 3 being the average one.
people are just entitled. Enjoy anime and block all negative weirdos.
Animation is literally movment, that's the definition of animation any and all movement is animation, fabric movement is animation, just like effects or character movements are animation...or even if you only look at the compositing you can't possibly think that bleach ep 6 looked better than the demon slayer entertainment district arc, which also aired this year, also ranking of kings ep 21 was this year, so was aot s4 ep 27...of course there's mob ep 6 and nearly every chainsaw man episode, I don't think bleach ep 6 can crack the top 15 best looking episodes this year ngl...
@@ProbablyPretentious I know what animation is. I have animated very short clips myself back in university. I'm just saying the production of an episode is more than just "movement animation". The overall look and feel of an episode is far more than just "character acting, fabric movement and action sakuga". Bleach has been one of the best looking anime this year. I see anime reactors reacting too Bleach episodes and Mob Pyscho episodes, and you can see for yourself that most people are definetly having more praise for Bleach's "animation" than they are for Mob Psycho. yet its Mob Pyscho with better movement. Just see how many people have said "it feels like i'm watching a movie' when they reacted to the first episode of the TYBW. Bleach will not have character acting animation like a 12 episode slice of life anime. So these Sakuga Enthuisiasts complains and wish for Bleach to look like Violet Evergarden is very weird.

But then again, art is subjective and we have different taste when it comes to things that please our eyes.
CSM has has a high level of production and has crazy animation ... but they overall style of the show is meh to me. Same with Ranking of Kings. Something can be well animated but make you feel nothing.
Knowing that bleach is primarily an action anime...i think more people want bleach to look like fire force or one punch man instead of violet evergarden, I haven't seen anyone complain about the lack of character acting in bleach, most people have a problem with the lack of any noteworthy action (besides a couple of cuts from ep 1 and 2, and ep 6 of course) people praise csm for its consistent character acting, fabric and action animation, but that doesn't mean that other shows are hated for not having the same...
So...a muted composite is meh? But by that logic aren't the demon slayer episodes significantly better looking than bleach?

That's true, but it's been so long since that ep aired, of course when part 3 comes out there will be breakdowns for every ep...but I don't have any plans to do aot for now...

The closest production i can compare this bleach tybw season to is SAO Alicization which had nearly the same amount of episodes with 48 eps which were 12 episode each of 4 split cours also did i mention that the first two cours were combined in a single 24 episode season
Yet they still managed to make that a sakuga fest and they even released an SAO movie just a year before that
bleach on the other hand had nearly 5 years of production their just isnt any excuse at all why majority of the episodes are so mediocre animation-wise
What Sao is doing isn't realistic tho, it's like an exception, even op supposedly has some good looking eps and some normal looking ones, also are you sure as to when the production for bleach started? Because I have a feeling that they started much later than that

they don't even had 1 years for the first cour they had like 9 months or a thing like that, and the cour 2 had 6 months and the animation the cour 2 is overall better than the first, the next episodes ( episode 23 ) have a pretty good staff so it will have an animation above the average, the squad 0 fights will have a good animation , and the peak of this season (episode 26) has an amazing staff (the animation will be like yamamoto vs royd) episode 14 to 22 had an animation above the average overall

episode 7 , 2, 5 , 10 had scenes well animated, the first episode wasn't crazy but it was well, so it wasn't only frames but it wasn't crazy too,( i forgot all of the episode 6 was really well animated )
