- When I was a kid, I wanted this guitar BAD. I used to hear my Mom play and sing when I was young, and y'all - she was AWESOME. A voice like a songbird. I was taking piano lessons at the time (because every asian kid takes either piano or violin, AMIRITE?!), and my folks said they'd get me a guitar once I aced Piano. I ended up with Dad's guitar in the long run, but I always loved the nylon strings on this Aria. This is the first time I've touched it since I was a keiki, and it was an amazing trip down memory lane. Mom doesn't sing as much these days - she says she doesn't have the lungs anymore. But this guitar will always remind me of how she used to sing to me as a kid, and it definitely helped shape me into the musician I am today.
My dad used to play and sing for me. Hes gone now and I would do anything to hear him one more time. After I lost my family and was in a really dark place out of the blue I could hear my dad sing and play "You Are My Sunshine". That was a decade ago and it still chokes me up thinking about it. Nothing can ever replace those kind of memories. I wish I had dads old guitar to play on.

You know, I used to have that guitar, then I remembered all the pain it brought me to write, so I put a hole in the back of it, so I could never use it again. I still kinda regret it. I hope it's for the best.

Proud to say that i've been following your work over the past decade and as i've grown up each of your posts feels like running into a dear old friend. When I was 10 I had gotten my very first guitar, also an Aria but I never thought much of it because it wasn't a Fender or Yamaha etc. In time I put down the guitar and figured it wasn't where my passion layed, but now that i'm in my mid-20s and running into my friend again I think i'll pick up the stringed wood again... remember what it feels like to hear the echo of the acoustics and the bit of pride when throwing a few chords together.

Picked up my acoustic guitar after a 30 years break (needed one new string) two years ago but decided to try something new - and bought a bass guitar.
Stunning. I purchased an Alvarez in Memphis where Elvis got his guitars back in ‘72. I lost it many years ago, but recently found one in a pawn shop dated back almost to the year I purchased the one in Memphis. Simply BEAUTIFUL. A long time ago I used to play drums. My wife had never heard me play, but she knew I had them, because I sold them when we were cash strapped, we needed money. I've never picked up a pair of drum sticks in the last 50 years. So my daughter has never seen me play, because being a starving musician was not as important to me as being a good father. If I can arrange it, I'd like to video a drum cover for her. She keeps everything I've ever done from my past, old football tapes, my class ring, my letter jacket, my military pictures, the wedding ring her mother gave me and the diamond I gave her mother. But she's never seen me play. I think I'd like to play a cover for "Reflection" by Kim Bo-Hyung for her.

I have a suggestion for what you should cover next. Voodoo in my Blood by Massive Attack. It’s a very complex, multilayered song but I think you could do it justice. Especially considering a lot of your covers remind me of Massive Attack :)
