    Man I love my greenworks 80v chainsaw. I have 3 batteries and I will wear out before I run out of battery power

      Yessir. I was recovering from Covid when I shot this and I was definitely wearing out before I had finished one battery. I was using the 4Ah battery. Super impressed.

    I have the 40 volt 16 inch love it got a lot of work done with it I’ve been looking at a cordless chainsaw for awhile because I got tired of having to mess with fuel and high maintenance on a gas saw.

      @hardybrothersproductreviews  Рік тому +1

      Yep... low maintenance for sure. I like that I don't have to worry about filling it up before i head out... I grab it, push the button on the battery and roll...

    Thanks for your excellent review. Very informative. I have the 16 in (ok but too short for some trunks) and just ordered the 18in Pro and looking forward to testing it. My Husky gas 18in is a beast, but maintenance is often tedious and expensive. The old-school gas saws still reign supreme, but I suspect their days are numbered as tech marches on...

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I agree that my Stihl chainsaw is still superior but also that the electric will just keep getting better. I suspect the Stihl electric is probably already ahead of the Greenworks but definitely pricier. I use this one all the time as my grab and go saw on my tractor or side by side.

      Is the gas a beast because its more powerful than electric?

      @@simd510 The 18-inch (vs 16 in) is power-equal to my Husky and requires less maintenance.

    Great review! Mine just arrived, can't wait to give it a go! Do you feel you need to adjust the chain frequently?

      @hardybrothersproductreviews  Рік тому +1

      Cool! No more adjustment than my Stihl gas powered. There is an embedded tool on the bottom which is super convenient.

    From a 1st time perspective owners point of view, whats the risk of kick-back and what sort of situations is kick back likely?

    • @hardybrothersproductreviews
      @hardybrothersproductreviews  5 місяців тому

      I'm not an expert on that and not a safety advisor but I believe most of the chains for home owner sales are made differently to reduce kickback. I've never had it happen but I try to always wear PPE; chaps, boots, helmet and eye/ear protection... gloves when remember. In terms of when is kickback likely, I'd do a quick google search on it as I'm sure there are many others way more knowledgeable than I. Sorry I couldn't answer all of your questions definitively.

    I bought 2 of these and let the batteries charged over night, when using them they only lasted about 5 minutes each? any ideas?

    • @hardybrothersproductreviews
      @hardybrothersproductreviews  Рік тому

      hmm, i'd call Greenworks or take it back... they should have a warranty. strange that both did that. I've not had any problems... are you plugged into an outlet or an extension cord? shouldn't matter but I know I have some appliances that don't work properly on some of the thinner extension cords.

    Great review. How much are the spare 80v batteries? The cost of spare batteries being the decider as to whether the purchase is practical.

      Depends on the amp hours they come in 2, 4 and 5 sizes. Makes more sense if you have other tools and you can swap batteries.

      @@hardybrothersproductreviews I haven't either, but places make them for all cordless power tools. For ordering for other tools, I read the reviews and make sure there's a significant number of reviews, and that they are saying that they fit the tools and have similar run times.

    What generation is it. It looks like the older one . The new one is a lot better. Bigger motor , fixed leak, chain tensioner upgrade.

    • @hardybrothersproductreviews
      @hardybrothersproductreviews  Рік тому

      Don’t know the generation but the model numbers are in the title. Still available on Amazon where I got it and haven’t had any issues with leaks or tensioning the chain. I find Greenworks is not good at clearly indicating new vs old product. Is there an easy way to find the generation?

    • @frostyfree
      @frostyfree Рік тому

      Model number will be the last digit like cs80l003. It’s not yellow on sides. They are pushing the earlier ones . It’s hard to find is right , it’s hidden with the older ver. Under new tool. But price is the easy way . 100. $ more for new gen. 1.5 kw vs 2.5 kw.

      I didn't know of the problems, looks like I just got the older one a month or so ago. Leaks oil badly, and chain tensioner doesn't do the job. Chain always comes loose.

      I have model greenworks GCS80420 are you saying that CS80L00 is the newer version? Both are available presently on Amazon and Greenworks does a poor job of versioning and packaging to let you know the difference from one item to the next. I'm not questioning you, just trying to figure out where you found the info so I can be informed. Thanks!
