  • Do you have a Cybertruck on order? Do you enjoy camping, tailgating, road trips, or the most high tech living possible in a tiny space? Then you have to get a Cyberlandr to go with your Cybertruck! In this exclusive, I get to talk to the CEO of Cyberlandr, Lance King, about just a few of the new features of this amazing camper that fits on the bed of the Cybertruck, including their custom made chipset, their use of 48v architecture, and a teaser about what's to be revealed in the coming months. Get one fast as the wait list is growing daily!

Disclosure: I am a Cyberlandr reservation holder and have an NDA with Cyberlandr so that I don't reveal anything too early. I am most certainly not being paid, nor does Cyberlandr have any editorial control over the content of this video.

They have working prototypes, team of top engineers, and space for a factory. But, they can't actually start initial production until they get final specs for a CyberTruck to make the finishing tweaks to the design and resulting small changes to the production process.
They've done a LOT of engineering with this including two extra years of "secret stuff." Like Tesla, they've not been sitting still. Do more research on the CyberLandr. They are the real deal.

@@larryspiller15 Incorrect. $55K is way cheaper than a new motorhome.
For me, I will sell my Mercedes Sprinter motorhome and 2019 Model 3 and still be ahead, initially and long term. I can’t drive 2 vehicles at once right now, so the versatility of this Cybertruck/landr combo makes so much sense in rural Western Australia. Trimotor 500 mile range is plenty

Temper that thought. They’ve been working this for 2 years, including Munro & Associates have helping them with lean design, materials, and production space planning. Yes expensive but not prohibitively so. Will be high-end and will significantly raise the bar in this space.

I’m setting out to build the complete opposite of this for Cybertruck and other electric trucks. No AI computers, no fancy windows, no frills. Just a solid, insulated aero dynamic shell that relies on the truck for power and hvac and utilizes the space above the cabin. Excited to share more details soon. Props to Cyberlander - great to see people pushing the envelope and I think there’s a ton of room for lots of players.

2 years and counting and still no one can say how the shower drain will work in a retracting bathroom. Or how the wiring works in retracting walls, or where that big flat-screen goes when the walls come down, or how the kitchen cabinets and fridge collapse so they are at a human height to cook on but low enough to fit in the collapsed camper... but hey, we got a bad cg render of the AI computer and a bunch of buzzwords so everything is great! I've been saying since the first time I saw this that there is a 0% chance of it ever being delivered as promised, and nothing here changes my thinking.

    • @TecnamTwin
      @TecnamTwin Рік тому +2

Minimalism should not be at the expense of comfort and functionality. All the complicated magic is hidden behind the simple appearance and intuitive UI. It will just work and be amazing.
Their hard work in maximizing practicality, useability, and durability should be applauded. Sure they could make it cheaper, but then the product experience suffers and lack of reliability and quality would quickly sink their reputation. They need to made a 10/10 product first before releasing cheaper options.

I have an idea for advertising. Tesla should just do one commercial per year. Make it movie production quality with all the drama and excitement of a theater. How about leasing an abandoned military base like, fort Ord and let two Model Y's race each other through that town at 85mph in FSD! No drivers, safe ending even at 3 times the normal speed limit. Just run it once at the Superbowl or whatever. It would go viral every time and circulate all year for free. One commercial per year. That's it.

4:59 So we know barely anything about the CT, which will come into the production car and already can guestimate it is the best of the best of the best (MiB) ^^
Still, it is kind of funy :) Two products not yet out, not yet tested by private persons. But the products will blow the mind of customers... normaly i hear that on comercials :)

If you want a real RV solution for the Cybertruck, what you want to do is create a camper that will slide over the back of the truck like a sleeve, at an angle that will lift the back wheels off the ground and put the weight on a single set of wheels in the back of the camper. That way, you still have just two active axles, so steering is easier. The sleeving process can be engineered to be extremely strong and precise, because the strength of the truck is located in the steel of its exterior; a pneumatic grip would be all you need for a stable friction hold.
Put another battery (say, 100Kw) in the floor of the camper and create a power hookup that will allow the Cybertruck to draw power from that battery. Now you have an extended range vehicle with a true trailer-sized living space, all on a 2-axle wheelbase. When you are camped, you can unsleeve quickly and the truck is free to be a truck, and both camper and truck have their own power source.
It would be expensive, obviously, because the camper would not only need the battery but also probably a motor for the wheels. But RV's are expensive anyway. But this solution would a fantastic high-end camping experience with no need to compromise on space.

I was disappointed that you did not ask about the possible effect of the smaller cybertruck on the cyberlandr, and yet, that was your comment when you announced a preview of the interview. I suspect that Lance did not want to talk about it. This is a huge red flag for the company -- a potential dealbreaker, and it isn't addressed at all.

I think less critical than the smaller overall dimensions are the much more intrusive wheel wells because of the Tesla change to the Cybertruck design to allow 4-wheel steering.

Why does constantly look at his watch? This is just one thing that will be quite rude for an Elon Musk interview. I think Elon should start with Dave Lee and James Douma. Then Ellie in Space. Then Dr. Know it all and Scott Walter.

But how do you heat and cool it using camping mode from the truck? Isn’t that the most important and appealing feature of camping in a Tesla?

Keep it simple stupid. I want a camper that is light weight as priority one. Walls that insulate against heat flow and noise. High reflectivity white exterior for summer. 20 year rated roofing and seals. Tank heat and a good toilet. Simple space for an induction hot plate, pump electric fridge, mini split heat pump. Use structural Solar panels directly for the roof please. Not the solar panels on top of the roof that doubles the weight. Scavenge heat from behind the solar panels for winter. Throw a few universal 48V outlets around and sell modules for lighting or what ever to plug in. Any computer put in there will be obsolete in two years. Just use and off the shelf sensor aggregator with a WIFI or Bluetooth interface and plug it into an off the shelf rugged touch pad that I can replace. Or just write a phone app. No TV on the wall please. Nobody uses those, they just stair at phones. I just need simple sonar based tank and Coulomb counting battery monitors. A cabinet that could fit an optional tiny propane furnace for arctic conditions with an external tank would be amazing. Make sure it can lift itself off the truck so I can leave it at the camp site while I drive around.

The Cyberlandr is as absurd as the Cybertruck itself. Just like the Cybertruck, your silly little camper won't survive even its first meeting with the real world. Off-putting and ill-conceived.
