Everytime Marvelous Marvin Hagler Got Knocked Down

- Hagler was known for his iron will and iron chin and this is the only knockdown of his career and it's a slip. Hagler took the best shots, Duran, Hearns and Mugabi had to offer and didn't even flinch. Hearns's legendary right bounced off Hagler's chin many times in the first round of their fight and Hagler just walked right through them and even braking Hearn's hand.

00:15 The Only Knockdown (Juan Domingo Roldan) - Спорт
This is the only time (in 67 matches) he's knock down and he just slipped! Legend
And amateur
Roldan pushed Hagler to the back of his head , led to Hagler slipping
it wasn't a slip, r e t a r d. he was knocked unconscious
@@user-uo5um5ss1uyou keep telling yourself that
@@user-uo5um5ss1u You sound like a fool!
You know a man has a hard chin when he fought some of the hardest hitters in his weight class and the highlight reel of him getting knocked down only contains 1 off balance slip.
Dude was litterley made for boxing, they done an x ray on him, and was shocked his skull was thicker than your average man...and by a lot! He was litterley built for the sport
@@ericcartman9042 That dude walked down Tommy Hearns who hits like a truck. for sure he has a brick solid skul
@@optimumpcyt i gotta watch that tonight after Tank never got to see that fight
While being pushed down over the head. And a chin so hard that Tommy Hearns broke his hand on it, but didn't knock down Hagler.
@@ericcartman9042yeah his temporal muscles were significantly more developed than that of an average human
This man was so underrated even today. They just do not come any tougher than Marvin Hagler. Truly.
😅😊
George chuvalo was tougher
@@Lil.Heathen Chuvalo got tko'ed multiple times Hagler didn't
#11 on my pound for pound list
Nobody that was born in that error, underestimated Hagler....he was one of the four kings of boxing as the press calls it.....Lenord, Duran, Hearns, Hagler
Watched Hagler fight for 12 years and I never saw him get beat, hurt, or even in trouble. Even the Leonard fight
Not quite true; if you watch it very carefully, Hagler was momentarily hurt against Hearns, and tried to clinch; but that was the only time, in his whole damn career, which isn’t normal. In my view, he ranks as probably the greatest middleweight, of all time.
@@fioralbannach6647 Hagler took punches from John Mugabi that would have hurt a heavyweight....and kept coming forward. The one punch from Hearns is the only time I can remember Hagler even being momentarily stunned. And then he destroyed the Hitman after that.
Hearns and Mugabi hurt him clearly, but like a true champion he persevered and won
Mugabi staggered him a few times but Hagler has never been rocked. Hearns also momentarily stunned Hagler in their epic 1st round war, but Hagler shook it off and came right back
He was hurt by Hearns but won.
I saw in an interview Hearns said Hagler's head was so hard that it was actually a weapon
Mike Tyson has an interesting history to tell you about Evander Holyfield.
THAT WAS A SLIP !
PLAIN and SIMPLE !
Hagler actually had his skull X-rayed or tested by doctors to measure density or thickness. The result was shocking. Hagler's skull was 20% thicker than the average/normal man. It's no wonder he was never truly knocked down. It also proves the incredible power of Thomas Hearns - the only fighter I know that ever buckled Hagler's knees with his shotgun OVERHAND RIGHT. Hagler's head was so thick Hearns broke his right hand with that punch which took away the main weapon in his arsenal.
Yea man. Hearns could put a horse down with that right hand. One of the best non heavyweight punchers of all time and Hagler was still walking thru most of those punches. Insane
Yeah i read that about his skull some people are just put on this earth to do certain jobs, it's like he was created to be a boxer
@@ericcartman9042 Hagler broke hands with his head. Holy God.
@@TheTexorcist68 him and mike Tyson always looked scary to me, Hagler just had that look like you know not to test him
@@ericcartman9042 I would have loved testing Hagler then going to Heaven - quickly. 😂
Never rightfully knocked down legend
So, no knockdown. A true legend.
Hagler is an all time great. This isnt up for debate.
So the great Marvin Hagler never got knocked down! 😊😊😊
What a chin! One of the greatest boxers ever!
In addition to Roldan hooking the neck with his wrist/forearm to produce the pull down. The worst big name referee ever in Tony Perez(look at the Mercer-Morrison fight) was totally oblivious to what Roldan did.
I agree about Perez...He had bad moments in Ali v Frazier II and was horrible in Ali v Wepner.
He really didn’t get knocked down!
He was pushed to the back of his head , that's the reason he slipped
Lo empujaron?😂
He brutalised Roldan after that slip
👌
Si.. Le metio un dedo en el ojo.. Porque estaba recibiendo bastante castigo
Yeah by Thumbing his left eyes previously
Not a knockdown, it's a slip but I can the confusion there.
I knew that was going to be a short clip, his record is legendary and so was his chin 💪
Marvin un grandissimo e Roldan il classico pugile Argentino indomabile con grande carattere. Vedere queste 2 icone della box e sapere che ambedue sono scomparsi invita alla tristezza....
My favorite fighter of all time
ONCE against RODAN and that wasn't a knock down. It was a push down
Is that it ? And that looked more of a slip . Proper legend !
So his record is impeccable. He has never been knocked down!!!. This guy was so underrated not fair. Held the middleweight title for 7 years. Defended it 12 times, 11 of them by KO. Had the highest KO Percentage of any middleweight at 78%. And they robbed him on the Sugar Ray fight. Sugar Ray was the money maker, so they straight out robbed Marvelous. The ducking announcers would not call him Marvelous so he got pissed and legally changed his name to Marvelous Marvin Hagler. He quit Boxing because he was sick of Vegas and new he was robbed. That takes balls!!! To say duck you! to money and leave something you love. He then proceed to get into acting. This guy was a fighter!!. Not like the clowns we have now, that run around the ring and just try to score points. Mayweather is one, boring ass fighter compared to what we had in the 80's. I can see why the kids do not like boxing and switch to UFC. Boxing is boring as duck now compared to the guys in the 80's.
He never left the comfort of his middleweight division. So I could see someone being more impressed with the likes of Duran or Hearns.
@@ckobo84 he never needed to because he was perfect at middleweight, the only two boxers that moved up in weight and impressed me was James Toney & Tommy Hearns cuz they went up to light heavy weight and hardly lost , but Marvin Hagler was Magnificent where he was , so why move up ... Hagler was a beast
There were plenty of runners in the 80's, Camacho, Whitaker, and Nunn to name three.
Once I read the title of the video I knew it was going to be a short clip.
I've never seen Hagler Stunned, Hurt, or even acknowledge a punch landed on him.
He was one of the greatest boxers of all time!
He has a legitimate case as the MW goat. Especially if we just consider MW fights since Robinson fought both as a WW and a MW.
Some say Mike McCullum would have beaten him. Somehow I do not think so Hagler could go toe to toe with anyone and always come out the winner
Though he was a fine fighter, he could never match the ferocity of the Marvelous one
Great boxer Mike, but even he, Toney, Jones, Hopkins, Eubank, Jackson had no chance.
Toney would have been the best match up of the others. He'd have a good shot. Toney was nearly unhittable.
Amazing footage
Real class fighter
Is that it? looooooooool what a beast
Yupp, dude had a granite chin. Took the best shots from the likes of Hearns and Leonard, never went down. Imagine fighting a guy you can't knock down that also has a ton of power and stamina.
@@Slickman2006 My guy had a iron chin
And that itself was not a knockdown, that was a simple slip.
@@clppzy9976 yes indeed brother!!! Rest in peace to Marvelous 🙏🙏🙏
@@Slickman2006 i'm thinking his skull played a part in it, Becouse when he had X rays done..Dr's were shocked to find out his skull is much thicker than the average man...i guarantee that played a part why he was never really knocked down
Marvin NEVER went down, he moved back, had his head tugged down and slipped back on the rear leg.
Never hurt ever
Once against Hearns right hand, but his skull is so thick it eneded up breaking Hearns hand. Hagler recovered quickly and did the job
When I saw the title of this video, I knew it would be one of the shortest UA-cam videos in history.
You don't knock Marvellous Marvin Hagler down; it just never happened, ever.
He wasn't even close to being knocked down.
I think Tommy Hearns offended him when the Hit Man tried to KO him early and that just peed him off and made him tear Tommy's head off.
but please... it was clear that it wasn't a knockdown
You guys got this covered . . Possibly my #1 middleweight of all time, moving Ray Robinson to welter.
Hagler would walk through fighters of today
this video is very meaningful and ironic...everytime :)
he is at my top three...
Obviously, the only time he was 'knocked down' wasn't really a knockdown, but it's a tough call for the ref as there was a partial punch and then Roldan kind of hooked him to the ground with the palm of his glove as Hagler slipped. Hagler might have had the best chin ever.
Para mí subestimado, no, es uno de los mejores pesos medio de la historia, sino que el mejor.
That was a slip, I never ever saw Hagler hurt, ever in any fight ....stop it ! Top 5 greatest chins in boxing history.
Hailer was amazing!!!!!
10% punch, 90% slip.
Marvelous was only knocked down once by Jaun Rodan, and it was a flash knockdown.
This should read " everytime Marvin Hagler was NOT knocked down." He was never LEGITAMATELY knocked down. The Roldan fight was a slip
Never a knockdown in a million years. You can clearly see in the replay Roldans shot went round the back of Marvins head. Marvin had the toughest chin in Middleweight history. He was never knocked down. Tommy, Mugabe etc, all hit him with their best shots. No one knocked him down.
In other words, he's never been knocked down.
Reminds me of the knockdown Benn scored against Eubank. Both involved slips, but it there hadn't been a punch thrown and connected they wouldn't have gone down by themselves. So I think a knockdown is a far call for both
i watched this because i wasnt aware of MMH ever getting dropped, and I was right, thats a slip all day long
Completely missed him.not a knock down in ten million years.
Every one know that he slipped on the floor and fell. This was not a knock down no one could Knock the marvelous down including Carlos Monzon. Hagler was a boxing machine with a great intelligence
He wasn't knocked out, it was a push
Hagler granite middleweight, Hearns is a hard hitter, but couldn't crack this nut , both warriors 🥊🥊
Joe Rogan talked about this
La primera vez que se asusto y se cayo solo 😅
remember when that happened then HAGLER went to work on the guy
He's the goat of the Middleweight Division
I knew it was gonna be a joke when it wasn’t a 0:00 long video
"Every time" being never.
Technically a knocked down, but looked more like a slip.
Everytime lol 😂😂😂
He was never knocked down. This will be a zero second video.
The ref is clueless even a near blind man can see this was a slip. BEST MIDDLEWIGHT ever with warrior mentality unmatched. Period.
No doubt, Hagler earned his reputation, but truth be told Hearns missed around 90% of those bombs he threw at Hagler. If he would've hit Hagler with that same shot he KO'D Duran with, he would've definitely went down
Why does the thumbnail picture have hagler in his blue shorts? When he is clearly wearing the burgundy ones. Is this picture a fake? As he s never been down on any other occasion.
The side bones on his head werre half inch bigger than the avg human he had a ape index that was insane with a very small torso hes built for this man rip hagler
One slip, and that was it, throughout his whole damn career. Hagler wasn’t f*ckin’ human, had a chin made of diamond😳
No knockdown. Frankly, I don't know what it would have taken to put this guy on the canvas. But this was a slip and a push.
That's nonsense.. Hagler wasn't knocked down.. He slipped and he bounced right back up in a nanosecond
The only time he was knocked down was very obviously a bad call by the referee. I never saw Hagler in any trouble
much less legitimately knocked down. Rodan pulled him to the ground and the ref screwed up and called it a knock down.
Slip, all the way! Not even close!
Misleading title
Definitely got knocked down by a punch......Haha
Once n didn’t even get knocked down fr😂 ofc
That was a slip that was not even a punch never seen Hagler down well I guess now! lol 😂
He was a legit middle too. Not a weight cutter.
They weighed the same day back then
@@SilverSmurphy yeah and?
Marvin had just slide because thé ring floor was wet
Saying this is a knockdown is about as accurate as Stevie Wonder would be playing darts. C'mon, man-Fire the ref!!!
Hanglers definitely a legend but nostalgia is also real! I can’t see how anybody thinks this wouldn’t be competitive. Definitely not a casual opinion to think GGG would win either the guys amateur record speaks for itself. Both men with incredible ko ratios GGGs being the best of all time in the middleweight division. You could of course argue Haglers middleweight era was much more competitive and I may agree yet GGG defended the title more times and arguably had his legacy cut short due to corruption and politics (Canelo) whether you agree or disagree what a great match up
he was never knocked down
Hell no , Marvin Hagler never was knocked down, that was a push to the back of the head that led to the slip
Not a knockdown!Shame on you....Marvin was a Beast!
That was a slip.
This is clearly not a knock down.
Marvin Hagler
No fue caída fue un resbalon
Nope! The only time I understand he went down was in sparring. Only once
Roldan was winning hagler on back foot
That was not a knockdown
So, basically never.
A slip.
Marvellous Marvin a Hagler was just that and more. He was marvellously magnificent. The best middleweight in modern times , just ahead of Carlos Monzon. Hagler may not have been as good as Sugar ray Leonard , that would be saying too much . Leonard was the complete boxer. However Hagler in his middleweight comfort zone was truly superb.
QUESTION.......how many times Hagler got knocked down? ANSWER.....never!
So once then 🙄🙄😂😂😂😂🥊🥊🥊
No Knockdown!!!
Weird title😀
That was a slip
NEVER.
He slipped from the punch... the punch was not wirh rhe glove so it shouldn't be a knockdown.
