I love Casio. It's my favorite watch brand. My collection of watches consists almost entirely of Casio, both digital and analog (and ana-digi) models. But I've never bought a single G-Shock ever. There have been moments when I was tempted to get one, but some other (usually Casio) model always wins out. It's just not for me.
Super cool to have a proper appreciation for the brand. I think I'm more intrigued by their ABC watches, really like some Protreks/Pathfinders. Those excited me as a kid as well. Never ended up with one because I read that often their calibration inaccuracies made them not so useful for that functionality. Might still seek out a Rangeman or Protrek nevertheless!

A interesting perspective, thank you. In my view, a G-Shock must be supremely practical. For me, it has to be a square for the purety. I own a GW-5610U. Tough solar means never needing to worry about replacing battery (for the forseeable future). Multiband 6 atomic synchronisation means that it is always accurate, important to me as a railway worker. Shockproof and lightweight for peace of mind. Although the Casioaks are technically tough, they still appear to be too similar to fashion watches for my taste.
I'm constantly tempted by the tough solars! Especially some of the more multifunctional abc watches. The multi band is tempting alone just to use it to set other watches. I get the squared aesthetic too, the only reason I haven't got one is I'm sure I will seldom wear it after the initial few weeks. But great to see you find actual use for the functions out 'in the field' :)
I am still using my G Shock GT-000 for my daily use. it is an old G Shock, but i love it so much 😅

Dam this video made me triggered 😤. Going on how you are just dumbfounded by the mass praise these watches get and how you do not get it at all. Then go on how you have no opinion while giving us your opinion on a video that is titled as a opinion vid.
That and you totally lost me when talking about dessert. Sure it seems out of left field when talking about a g shock but your desire to take the time to tell us you do not eat dessert because you are trying to make some “Gains” is both completely irrelevant and also just makes me lose complete focus on the topic and now questioning your view on working out/ diet. Gains means just as it sounds, gaining muscular size. This is done by going through muscular motion In space which breaks down the muscle fibers in aims of rebuilding stronger to be more able to withstand that force and stress that was applied. For this to happen your body will need a surplus of calories along with a high protein amount to properly heal and grow muscular tissue. If you think of desert as just something you eat after “dinner” or just something bad for you both are wrong ideas to have when trying to “Gain”. One you should eat smaller meals throughout the day and two the idea of restricting is by definition counter productive when talking about gaining. Simply flip it around and you may under stand a bit better. If you are trying to “cut” slim down by lower body fat % down and becoming leaner means restricting your calories and usually limiting your carbs in both amount and type. So the flip side of what you said would be well since I am trying to slim down I make sure to eat a excess of carbs and abundance of caloric amount. See, utter hogwash… all while being brought up for no reason.

I would say it's kind of an unconsolidated opinion. I don't mind them, perhaps they're not for me. I am occasionally tempted though!

Cool video. I have the basic one and one day will probably get a Casioak. I like many other models, too. But I don't wear them every day, or for any special activity. I wear it when the mood strikes. Another reason to get one is that by now they are just iconic, as much as many other much more expensive watches. It's nice to see someone not just fawning over one, because you know, it's a G Shock and the praise is almost mandatory. Good work

Casios are practical fashion watches. For me, I need a watch with a digital display and date/day display. At the same time, they need to be light and heavy duty. I don't take off my watch when I go shower or sleep. My favorite is the F91W because it just disappears on my wrist. I just don't feel it. I modded it to a negative display and whilst not too easily readable it's still fine. I bought the Neon green version of this one for 60 euros because I just wanted to have it and at that price it's a no-brainer. The though solar squares are the more practical choice tho.

Every watch collector should own at least one G-shock watch imo. Look at me (Rolex fanboy), I have three of them.
By the way, the Casioak has been upgraded now with solar charging and Bluetooth connection (GA-B2100 series).
See that line of thinking is exactly what I disagree with. Inspired this video actually. It makes sense for you since you seem to enjoy your G Shocks but it shouldn’t really be connected to being a collector just like any other particular watch :)

I have a few different casioak types, I always thought the LED light was good and attractive. You just need the brighter colored hour markers since there’s no loom on them. Also, I like the metal circular buttons! They have a very satisfying push to them.
Yep I can see that! Regarding the buttons, I think I like the rectangular shape. Maybe the metal can remain 😄

I wear mine swimming, gardening, doing construction, or just if I feel like it.
Would I take one over my nicer mechanical watches? No. But they have a place.
Hahaha. I really do get that though! It really depends on the day, quite often I just think I should get one and other days I tell myself to not let the obtrusive thoughts win :)
