I can't see in the video which pins you connected to. I looked at my old battery and it appears that the first pin is + and the third pin is -. Are those the only 2 pins you are connecting to? As for voltage, the battery says it is 3.85v with a 4.4v charge. What voltage are you using? Do you know how much current the phone draws max? What I'm thinking of doing is using a regular 5v adapter and putting a diode on the end to drop the voltage to 4.3v, which is hope gets me in the correct range. I'm concerned it will draw too much current for my diode and so I'd like to figure out how much current we are talking so I can get a property rated diode.
I reccomend adding the thermistor (thermal resistor) on the middle pin (near positive and negative) the first thermistor pin is on the middle, the second pin is on power negative
I tried it with a diode in Series While booting, the phone drew about an Amp. USB+ to Diode(>|) toPhone Pin 1 (+). USB- to Phone Pin 3 (-). This kind of worked. The phone works (and shows full battery) but the diode gets really hot (1A*0.7V = 700mW, which is a lot for a small THT diode), but it sometimes crashes. Improvements: To fix the crashing and lower the needed Amperage of the charger I would connect a beefy (100uF 6.3V) Electrolytic capacitor between the phones plus and minus. Maybe its fine to not use the diode. Otherwise I would use a TO-220 diode, and glue it into the battery compartment using thermal grease /glue. As it's made out of metal, it should dissipate the power well enough (The Idea is to re-use the phone with its nice AMOLED panel as a home assistant wall mounted panel)
@Pinoy Wonderman somehow i cant figure this out...you connected + to + and - to 2 pins? im trying to power a samsung galaxy J3 without battery. i connected just the + to + and - to - and it works but keeps shutting off randomly...Thanks for the video
I want to do this for my Core Prime. Because I need it for secondary purposes at home. It's not clear what you're doing in the video. Is it possible for you to explain in writing please?
Try first positive wire from your power source to positive terminal of your phone the same to negative. Make sure you use correct voltage on your adaptor.
It hqppens cuz the adapter output at more voltage like 5v but phones only require 4v at max. So the phone detects the overvoltage and then shuts off yo protect the board inside the phone

@@fadifado6120 if your phone has no + and - written on the battery terminal then you have to use multimeter to know the positive and negative terminal.
Safe if you use the required voltage. More safer than plugging it in with battery, because there's a chance battery will overheat and explode. I'm doing this because I make my old celfon as an online security camera.
I think you can do that also but it needs an adaptor with the right voltage, if you want to plug it in your usb computer you need to let it run all the time but wasting electricity. I hope I answer your question correctly. Thanks.

I think it will work, as long you connect it correctly and try to use 4v adapter.

If you are able to determine the positive and negative terminal... but to be honest that's very hard.

I think it works to all removable batteries, just connect it to right terminal and right voltage/amps.
