Jimmy Page praised Akane (the drummer) when he heard Band-Maid at an award ceremony and there's a cool looking photo of the two together. Great timing, dynamite energy, always finds a way to add something to the song, manages to pump me up and make me smile at the same time. And there's another four of them like that! An interviewer said to Miku (rhythm guitar/vocal and founder of the band) that it was great to have found such a talented group of girls, Miku smiled like a Cheshire cat and said, kiseki-po-a miracle.
Welcome aboard, Rocky. You are embarking on (along with many others) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of rock n’ rollers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Consistency (nearly 100 songs with new album, “Conqueror”), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destine for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! I'm a simple man. I see BAND-MAID reaction, I like and subscribe. The fact that they write their own music & lyrics immediately makes them better then 99% of the bands out there nowadays. Band-Maid literally does not have a dud song in their catalogue. They're all amazing. @@acornsoda22 Of course their exact ages will change depending on the particular day of the year that one reads this information..... Perhaps I should only post their date of birth and let people figure out their actual age themselves? Na... most are smart enough to understand this....mostly.
It's great that you picked up on the chemistry between Akane (drums) and MISA (bass): they're best friends in real life and spend a lot of their free time together. They're one of the most musically accomplished and tightest rhythm sections I've ever heard.

One night I was walking alone in the middle of the highway and sudendlly I saw a truck with the lights on and running over the speed limit, the truck hit me so bad, i didn´t see the plate number, the only thing I could see when I look back was the name of BAND MAID on it.
Welcome to the Band-Maid rabbit hole. They are a Rock/Pop band and have some hard songs and some straight up Pop songs. They could play the phone book and I would watch. They don't make a bad song, so anything you pick to react to will be good. Here is another band I know you will like. It's a Japanese metal band that has been at it for 30+ years and it shows. Make sure you turn on closed captions for this one. ua-cam.com/video/CbI79e5iZKs/v-deo.html
Wow! A reaction video maker who actually reacts and has the decency to research about the Band and post the information on the screen. Well done for your first Band Maid reaction video. As others have mentioned, like other Japanese bands, the live shows are where it is at with Band Maid. They do have several MV's but some are rather hit and miss, in my view. You will be hard pushed to find a track you will not like with Band Maid if you wish to react to more of their material. For another 'mind blown' Japanese band, have a look at Lovebites. The link is for a live version of their song, Rising. Although live, it is from a DVD so post production and on stage backing is present but you will not be disappointed! ua-cam.com/video/dVLuuAr4ZpE/v-deo.html
Having seen them live in LA last September l can assure you that they are all that and more live. Your very best hard rock band on the planet today is: Saiki "l'm the only normal person here" Atsumi, lead vocalist Kanami "My heart belongs to Saiki" Tono, lead guitarist, piano and music writer. MISA, the assassin, bassist (Her name is stylized all caps because there are a million Misa in Japan but only one MISA. Akane "half gorilla" Hirose, Drummer and Looper. And last but never last is Miku "l rent a little space in my head to an 810 year old pigeon" Kobato, the band's founder. The sometimes hyper and often loquacious Ms Kobato is the lyricist, rhythm guitarist and Chief Spokespigeon in charge. She is also responsible for casting spells and performing magic. They are the best hard rock band on the planet today.
I found them 'accidentally" in February and this may have been the song but I was hooked and still am 4 months later. I have all their stuff now. lol. I just got the latest DVD last week. It never goes away. My reaction today is the same as it was the first time. Enjoy!
You have taken your first steps down the Pidgeon Hole that is Band-Maid fandom. Enjoy the ride! The cornerstone of any good band (rock or otherwise) is it's rhythm section. Without a solid rhythm section your band goes nowhere. These ladies don't clean houses, they clean clocks!!! I would say that the girl with the doll symbolizes someone who is afraid to leave her place of comfort so she clutches her doll and stays blind to the possibility that life has to offer until she allows curiosity to take over and she removes the blindfold to take her chances in the unknown.
Nice reaction... you should check them out playing live in their live concert at Zepp Tokyo in 2018.... A lot of their songs actually sound better than their studio albums....
Yep,BAND-MAID live is definitely the way to go.But for a guy named "Rocky Harder" you should first check out the MV of "Rinne".It's one of their fastest & heaviest songs, proving these girls kill it at any style they choose to play.
Their music is so good it doesn’t matter if you don’t understand a word of Japanese, after a few listens the songs get stuck in your head (in the best kind of way)
Just a quick warning Japanese rock/metal can be addictive, there is something about the way they write songs. If your intrested here are a couple of others to try: Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram Lovebites - Shadowmaker The Gazette - Ugly
"This is a mindfuck....." You, my friend, have just been punched in the face with "The Gap." It's the dissonance you feel between what you see and what you hear.......and was done on purpose.....
This is the best hard rock band in the world today and they are even better live. As for cute Japanese girls surprising you with their music, well you got some great surprises ahead. Japan all female metal bands are killing it and have been for about a decade. I would highly suggest these bands and songs as an intro: Bridear-Light in the Dark, ua-cam.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/v-deo.html Mary’s Blood-Moebius Loop, ua-cam.com/video/BzRe1_Af2_8/v-deo.html Lovebites-When Destinies Align, ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html Plus many many others
Great young female guitarist in Asterism and BiSH/BiS are on my playlist as well. But that being said Band-Maid is still the only one who makes the hair on my arms stand at attention. Regards.
These days I know Japanese enough to be able to follow lyrics sung in Japanese, but back in the day (like 20 years ago) I didn't, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the music from Japan. It's kind of freeing, that you don't understand the lyrics so they don't take your attention away from the music. And yous tart to realize that most music on pop-charts etc. is 1:1 the same damn crap but with different lyrics and it drives you nuts because you realize that if you hadn't understood the language, you would have paid more attention to the music as a whole and realize what kind of garbage you're listening to. And I like the fact that these women are a real BAND. They could be the newest product of faceless Japanese idol industry with no souls of their own. Where others make their music and they're just the figure heads of someone else's music and their dressup could be some idol producers newest fad that they think men like and that sells... but no. They are a band that composes and plays their own music and they choose together what to wear and what kind of music they want to make.... So I appreciate that.
Could you someone tell me why Jackie Chan appears on the reaction to Band-Maid? Does JC have something with this kind of music? Or any cultural background?
Nope, it's not a cultural reference at all. I said somethig that was completely obvious, and I thought Jackie Chan's expression complemented the moment

LOL!!!! Typical reaction...WHAT?? Stop the tape, go back to beginning because they blew you away with the hard and fast intro. Head bobbing hard towards the end... YOU'RE In DUDE!! Welcome to Band-Maid, your journey is about to begin... Enjoy!
I appreciate the effort you put into the videos, with the slides and such. That's cool. As far as this video... man, videos can be weird, and often you get "is this an interesting visual?" instead of "is this an interesting visual that goes with the song?" I think the song is, more or less, trying to convince someone living a very sheltered life to step out of their comfort zone and live a little. Roll the dice, that type of thing. Translations of Japanese can be difficult because Japanese is written in three different writing types (kanji, hiragana, katakana) which represent ideas. (Admittedly, I'm *really* simplifying here.) It really takes fluency to truly get the gist of what is being said, and then compose the same idea in English. Google translate is truly awful at Japanese. Band-Maid often throw in English, but it seems to be used more as a "spice" to give their music an international feel, and also make it just a little more accessible outside Japan.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, if you are then thank you for the compliment, if not then, that is not Tony Sunnhag, that is Me, Myself and I😂
Interesting Fact: What does K-POP group Blackpink and Band-Maid have in common - Blackpink song "AS IF IT`S YOUR LAST' has the EXACT same chores beat as Band-Maid "Made in Japan" CD, bonus song #9 (愛と情熱のマタドール, "Love, Passion, Matador")" written by musician Kentaro Akutsu in 2014.
Understanding the lyrics isn't really necessary, They put just enough english in to get the gist. "Winning and losing its all the same, throw the dice and take your chance". I got no idea what the doll is for, creepy.
I have yet to hear a bad Band-Maid song. Back in the 70's and the 80's a lot of bands had that one or two hits on an album and the balance of the songs were shite! Not here. All grade A++ songs.

I'm a simple man. I see BAND-MAID reaction, I like and subscribe. The fact that they write their own music & lyrics immediately makes them better then 99% of the bands out there nowadays.
Band-Maid literally does not have a dud song in their catalogue. They're all amazing.

Going off of their birthdays you need to take 1 year off from everyone but Saiki.
@@acornsoda22
Of course their exact ages will change depending on the particular day of the year that one reads this information..... Perhaps I should only post their date of birth and let people figure out their actual age themselves? Na... most are smart enough to understand this....mostly.
@@GSpotter63 ok, it'll be right when people read though the comments on this video six months from now. 👌
It's great that you picked up on the chemistry between Akane (drums) and MISA (bass): they're best friends in real life and spend a lot of their free time together. They're one of the most musically accomplished and tightest rhythm sections I've ever heard.
Agreed man, I am soooo damn impressed! I cant wait to dive into the Band-Maid ocean! Keep rocking👊
@@RockyHarder And in a Japanese radio show when those two girls were asked about what kind of music they liked to listen to they mentioned a lot younger girl band from Mexico and if you listen to these three sisters you might understand why. ua-cam.com/video/yV8gpIrIR9s/v-deo.html
After watching like every Band Maid music video. I know enjoy watching Band Maid react videos they always put a Smile on my Face
Originally, Kanami played Addictone guitars but once she was
noticed, she’s been PRS all the way!
Kanami- PRS / Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier + 8 or 9
different pedals
Miku- Zemaitis Custom / EVH( EDDIE VAN HALEN ) stack + various pedals
MISA- Black Cloud custom 5 string bass / Orange stack
Oh by the way- JIMMY PAGE OF (LED ZEPPELIN) loves BAND-MAID, enough
said....
I love watching everyone's first reaction to the Band-Maid.
Is was my first intro to Band-Maid and it was a great day indeed, I love these girls.
❤Miku❤❤Kanami❤❤Misa❤❤Akane❤❤Saiki❤
BAND-MAID They will break your heart and your ear drums. Then clean house!
One night I was walking alone in the middle of the highway and sudendlly I saw a truck with the lights on and running over the speed limit, the truck hit me so bad, i didn´t see the plate number, the only thing I could see when I look back was the name of BAND MAID on it.
Just stopped to say that BAND-MAID gets you a new subscriber.
Thank you so much! I appreciate the support👊
Эти девчонки любого мужика в ступор загонят, такой напор !!! Я в шоке, как-будто меня износиловала банда японских девчонок ! :))) но я доволен ! ;)
thanks for reacting to bandmaid. its my fav asian band. and I love misa and her black cloud bass.
MISA MISA MISA
“PLAY” live is a good next choice. Welcome to BANDMAID... Literally all their songs are great... 😋
Having seen them live in LA last September l can assure you that they are all that and more live. Your very best hard rock band on the planet today is:
Saiki "l'm the only normal person here" Atsumi, lead vocalist
Kanami "My heart belongs to Saiki" Tono, lead guitarist, piano and music writer.
MISA, the assassin, bassist
(Her name is stylized all caps because there are a million Misa in Japan but only one MISA.
BAND-MAID Rocking Out Is What's Going On!
This was my first reaction to Band-Maid all over again, my mind was blown. Welcome to the club :)
I found them 'accidentally" in February and this may have been the song but I was hooked and still am 4 months later. I have all their stuff now. lol. I just got the latest DVD last week. It never goes away. My reaction today is the same as it was the first time. Enjoy!
MISA MISA MISA!
Nice reaction..... I like your video presentation.... keep it up.... 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Thank you!
try Onset LIve to see a the instrumental chemistry then go into Moratorium live adding back the singer
they are great and DICE is a non stop rocker
Nice reaction... you should check them out playing live in their live concert at Zepp Tokyo in 2018.... A lot of their songs actually sound better than their studio albums....
You have been assimilated into the BAND-MAID Collective. Resistance Is Futile! 🤘
🤘🤘❤🤘🤘 MISA MISA MISA!!!! 🤘🤘
Oh FYI, they're even better live!!! 😁🤘🤘
I want you reaction they, don't you tell me (live) if you want see bass n guitar battle 😄.
Thx..so much
Yep,BAND-MAID live is definitely the way to go.But for a guy named "Rocky Harder" you should first check out the MV of "Rinne".It's one of their fastest & heaviest songs, proving these girls kill it at any style they choose to play.
"Domination" LIVE 👉🤘
Please react another awesome group from japan. "Passcode - Trace" live performance. I know you will like it
great reac to the best band in hard rock today. Band Maid saved Rock IMO. Subbed.
Love the way you put up the band info well done
*BAND-MAID* just dropped a video *BAND-MAID / カタルシス "Catharsis" Acoustic Ver* just posted
_(The video Limited Time Release so please react to it)_
Dude, it's a music video! It's got nothing to do with anything. I love this band!
Their music is so good it doesn’t matter if you don’t understand a word of Japanese, after a few listens the songs get stuck in your head (in the best kind of way)
Jackie Chan is Hong Kong.
And a proud member of Chinese Communist Party.
He has experienced the « gap ». There’s no way back. The addiction is on first shoot.
Welcome to Band Maid
welcome to band maid 😊😎🤙
These girls should cover Minus Celsius by the Back Yard Babies... thad be great
can't stop laughing "man, this is a mindfuck"
React to them live, any fan will tell you, they are one of the few bands who are better live. You should try Puzzle, one of my favorites
Check out the official live videos
If you like Band Maid you really need to check out Lovebites , Aldious, and Mary's Blood.
Welcome to the Rabbit Hole of BANDMAID......and great Reaction. You should try MORATORIUM next 💯🎶🙌
Welcome to our world. Check Domination live 2020
Band Maid are amazing, its great that people are discovering Japanese metal. Please check out Unlucky Morpheus black pentogram.
The lead guitar Listened to Santana growing up and other guitar greats..
Just a quick warning Japanese rock/metal can be addictive, there is something about the way they write songs.
If your intrested here are a couple of others to try:
Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram
Lovebites - Shadowmaker
The Gazette - Ugly
"This is a mindfuck....." You, my friend, have just been punched in the face with "The Gap." It's the dissonance you feel between what you see and what you hear.......and was done on purpose.....
This is the best hard rock band in the world today and they are even better live. As for cute Japanese girls surprising you with their music, well you got some great surprises ahead. Japan all female metal bands are killing it and have been for about a decade. I would highly suggest these bands and songs as an intro:
Bridear-Light in the Dark, ua-cam.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/v-deo.html
Mary’s Blood-Moebius Loop, ua-cam.com/video/BzRe1_Af2_8/v-deo.html
Lovebites-When Destinies Align, ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html
Plus many many others
Great young female guitarist in Asterism and BiSH/BiS are on my playlist as well. But that being said Band-Maid is still the only one who makes the hair on my arms stand at attention. Regards.
Welcome to Japanese metal 😎
Akane is a godess
It took me way to long to realize that the mouse pointer was yours, not mine…
😂
Great! Now you're ready for Babymetal 🦊🔥
Pls.Pls do react to "TriDent" song "continue"
Junna the drummer of this band is no.1 in Japan.🔥🙏🏻❣️❣️❣️❣️ All girls.
@@RockyHarder thanks
How have you watched so much Band Maid and never reacted to BabyMetal? Death Legend 1997
Hi from the UK check out misa misa misa misas bass live at zepp Tokyo
Also check the band nightwish this band has a massive following in Europe and the internet it's a symphonic metal band from Finland with a Dutch singer (floor Jansen the valkyrie)

Nightwish song of myself wacken open air concert 2013
Nightwish story time wacken open air concert 2013
And prepare for the nightwish army to arive at the door lol
Activate your Windows already. Go to settings to activate.
😂
LOL!!!! Typical reaction...WHAT?? Stop the tape, go back to beginning because they blew you away with the hard and fast intro. Head bobbing hard towards the end... YOU'RE In DUDE!! Welcome to Band-Maid, your journey is about to begin... Enjoy!
React Onset Live too plis
Thanks for sharing dude!

this is the ONLY one where the video is better. The live one does NOT do the song justice.
Babymetal would be cool for you to check them out, but don't do gimme chocolate first as people tend not to like it the first time they hear. Karate or rondo of nightmare would be better.
Thanks.
Band-Maid、なめんなよ!
Tony Sunnhag on the thumbnail... why?
Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, if you are then thank you for the compliment, if not then, that is not Tony Sunnhag, that is Me, Myself and I😂
@@RockyHarder If you let your hair lengthen four feet, you'd be his lookalike.
Interesting Fact: What does K-POP group Blackpink and Band-Maid have in common - Blackpink song "AS IF IT`S YOUR LAST' has the EXACT same chores beat as Band-Maid "Made in Japan" CD, bonus song #9
(愛と情熱のマタドール, "Love, Passion, Matador")" written by musician Kentaro Akutsu in 2014.
Understanding the lyrics isn't really necessary, They put just enough english in to get the gist. "Winning and losing its all the same, throw the dice and take your chance". I got no idea what the doll is for, creepy.
It symbolizes getting rid of your insecurities and stepping out of the darkness and into the light. A very central theme and message from Band-Maid.
@@sacluvsBM Thank you, that makes a lot of sense.
I have yet to hear a bad Band-Maid song. Back in the 70's and the 80's a lot of bands had that one or two hits on an album and the balance of the songs were shite! Not here. All grade A++ songs.
