Hello Dane Scott trucker lounge thanks for the tour of gmc.genal and mack rolloff old school iron that's has not been forgotten about your the captain👨🍳 of gmc. Old school trucks merry Christmas🎄
I started driving these trucks in the early 80’s. My uncle had mostly Ford louisvilles dump trucks and some Chev and GMC dump trucks. Loved the Brigadier and General.
dig your truck man and tip i was taught as a fellow truck dork myself, red switch is 13 blue is 15 and black is 18 for Eaton trans to easily spot trans! ill keep on watching my man! cheers from santa cruz ca
I spent some time as a kid in the 80's with my best friend and dad running in a General just like that but dump truck. His dad was manager at a pool company and he did all sorts of things. So some nights we would go out and take a load of sand to a job site. It was a very nice truck at the time and we were so excited to ride in it. LOL
Porter greetings! 🤩 I’ve always loved the Generals. 🥰 Schneider’s GMC in Huntington wasn’t too far from my house and I rode my bike through there frequently. I was 14 and looking to buy a truck for my 16th birthday. I was asking my dad about it. I had big hopes and plans. He encouraged me to go smaller…I ended up buying a 1963 Ford Econoline van instead. 🤩 I still wanted that GMC though. Other than missing some tires and wheels, it looks almost like it could be driven home to Columbus area. It doesn’t have a tachograph, but it was very nice! Good stuff! 🇺🇸😎✌️
@@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGE 😎 I can’t say that if a good buy came up that I wouldn’t consider it. I have a special trailer already…let’s just say an oldie from the 70s and related to the railroad. I’ve been keeping it under wraps until I’m ready for it. The other thing is that I will need a truck to bring it home. Hmmm…makes me wonder if something special will work out. It is Christmas time you know. It’s almost like the GMC hauling in your truck! 😎🥰 Got any thoughts or leads? I’m always hopeful. It’s almost like a kid in the candy store with me. 🥰🤩✌️
@@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGE 🇺🇸 I just might have to pay him a visit and check those trucks out. 🧐 Herman interesting fact about reefers…Most reefers tend to be an odd length. Some are 47 or 49 instead of 48 feet long. Well, that has been my experience with them and I was told that a few times as well before I bought one. Gonna watch your last couple of videos again here shortly. Keep up the good work! 😎✌️
@@the.porter.productions I never heard that. Perhaps it’s to factor in the refer as it would be about a foot or maybe 15” deep. Just a thought. Oh well thanks again for watching.
You two were talking about the year on the general and you hovered over the emissions sticker below the shift pattern and it showed the year it was built, 1984
Thanks Andrew, I’ll have to look closer. It’s hard to catch some things when your videoing and trying make sure you don’t miss something lol. Thanks for watching.

@@the.porter.productions When the time comes Brayden at Tucker Equipment in Lisbon can get you a quote. His brother does the hauling.

Hey buddy good to see you again buddy take care
Thanks and thank you for watching 😬👍
Military recovery unit was inspiration for today's million dollar rotators
I have no doubt! Thanks for watching!
Nice find! I always liked the looks of the steel hood DM600 Macks. Did it have a V8 in it? There wasn't much of a doghouse in the cab.
Sadly, I neglected to look...sorry. I'm not sure on that. The owner wasn't around so I really am hesitant to look sometimes.
👍😉
My mack had twin sticks
12 speed in the Mack?
We had a 18 speed R model....don't remember the year....the company wouldn't let most of us drive it....all of ours were 6 speed 237s
