Is there a chance you might remake this now act 2 is out? will you do it after the second Prime Sanctum releases?
I currently am making the video for for act 2 as we speak but may hold off on releasing it until P-2 releases since that's how I released the first video and would love to have everything from act 2 in one whole video if possible but knowing Hakita we may not get it for some time.

The spinal staircases leitmotif is probably the most unexpected one for me, and they make it feel like those levels up to Prime Sanctum 1 are basically yelling at you that prime minos is there. especially with the requiem leitmotif getting louder and stronger as you get to guts, then fading out/slowing down as you get further from P-1's enterance in Glory.

hearing the Spinal Staircase leitmotif in the sped up Cold Winds/In the Presence of a God really freaked me out. An insanely cool detail

The leitmotif in “Order” is actually kinda cool, considering that King Minos ruled the second layer.
The better part is that the song builds up to the leitmotif, as if announcing the king entering his court.

I feel like a lot of people don't see the resemblance in glory and minos leitmotif (Requiem and order) because when the part in glory descends and them goes to a high note, this sounds oddly similar to order, except when the high notes in glory start to descend, as in order it just goes to a higher note. This also makes sense see because in gluttony, (layer where glory plays) is technically inside of minos' corpse

@@epicjeong its there, it uses the raw audio file titled "tension drone.wav" and is just sourire slowed down by about 800%, its only used for a few seconds though

@@KyleKoala Update as of a couple days ago: Hakita is going to release the entire rest of Act II at once. The release date is still TBA, but Layer 5 and Layer 6 will come out at the same time.
@@geoffreyprecht2410 We are a little over halfway through summer (geological season in the northern hemisphere, summer doesn’t end when school starts) and we have until September for the thing to be released on time.

@@leo37194 I have been aware for several days and I bet that after Act II releases, they will change the name of the twitter account to “Ultrakill: Act III soontm”.
The requiem motif is by far my favorite tune to hum and I'm super glad it's in so many places with a big dumb smile on minos. Also really like how you edited this video down to matching the visual style and slowly having the music ramp up so it doesn't blast out your eardrums.

When I first heard *Requiem* I got huge nostalgia flashbacks to EBF and the wonderful music made by _Phyrnna,_ I think specifically it reminded me of *Blade & Switch* and a bit of *Those of Us Who Blossom!* in there aswell.
Imagine in like 10 years when this game will be considered as nostalgic, the requiem leitmotif and fire is gone will hit super hard

The requiem-order leitmotiv is beatiful, when i first noticed that theme from requiem in the Minos fight felt so epic but also melancholic, the shame in Minos soul because he failed to reform Lust

I would have never guessed.

It's like... It's such an ironicly calm and remoniscent tune to a game about plowing down through hell without stopping.
Like a calm party where everyone's head explodes and noone is weirded out for some reason
And it's based on how god has dissapeared in the ultrakill universe
It just reminded me of how tragic it is and how V1 is ruining everything

The Requiem leitmotif kills me every time I hear it. It's desperation, majesty, power, and sorrow all wrapped up into one package. A powerful yet kind king, lost everything because he was diplomatic. What a terrible fate.

Since lietmotifs represent an idea or theme in a piece of media, i personally thing that the requiem lietmotif represents the tradgety of the fall of minos
I feel like it’s the overall dread of the lust layer. It used to be full of life, but now you’re going through a former husk of its glory, and now the guts of the king.
And the spinal staircase one could be reminiscing about a time long past
God the Requiem part in Order gives me chills every time I hear it, Minos Prime is one of the sickest bosses I've ever fought
I absolutely cannot get enough of the Requiem leitmotif. Something about it and knowing Minos' background around Lust just makes it hit harder than THY END IS NOW
theres a reason why the entire lust layer is my favorite in the game, and this video very well demonstrates why. i love the story behind the lust layer and especially the music

@@InfernoTune727 I P ranked every level and had 19 on cybergrind, I did manage to get 27 which I think is a bit more acceptable but still, Cybergrind definitely harder than campaign
Thank god you made this, I love music, but I am just dumb when it comes to this sort of thing. It really helps appreciate the kind of work that goes into the arrangement when you highlight something like this

It occurred to me while listening to this that, if I'm not mistaken, the chunk of "Glory" from 4:28 to 4:41 comes back as a leitmotif of its own in that bridge section of "Altars of Apostasy". Very neat, Hakita!

For the "Act II When?" Part, in "Dune Eternal", you can hear V2's second fight theme in the background slightly, and vice versa

@Enderman83 at about 1:12 into Dune Eternal, u can hear it faintly. It's the same as the start of Duel (after the acoustic guitar intro)

I loved noticing these myself first set I discovered was requiems
I put them in a Playlist because they were my favorite and it just made sense to me to have glory after requiem like an intro but I didn't know why, them I heard order and it all fit together

How is it that I took AP Music Theory for *_2 FUCKING YEARS_* and never learned what a Leitmotif was but a fucking Ultrakill video taught me. God dammit, the U.S education system is 🅱️roke.

We can also hear (correct me if I'm wrong) a connection between requiem, cold winds and In the presence of a king with the drop sounding similar to each other, in the presence of a king for example has just a slowed down version of the requiem drop, the same thing applies to cold winds
Order's requiem leitmotif goes SO HARD.
Requiem is my favorite because of the memory from glory, fighting my way through the level late at night. I’ll probably never forget it it was just so fun.
This is really really cool! If you could do more videos about other soundtrack's leitmotifs that'd be really awesome! I know that portal 2 has some really identifiable ones.

If Im correctly the distorted sounds playing at the end of the spinal staircase should also include the leitmotif. You may not notice the first time, but the distorted sounds also have a melody.
Order also has a small leitmotif to chaos on the background guitar sometimes, just listen and you will notice that it's just on another octave (and probably modal scale)
The Minos lietmotif in World looks red is because the minotaur, who is technically a son of minos. Minos didn't like it and thus banished to the deepest darkest pit of hell. Thats why the leitmotif is in there

The requiem leitmotif also plays during divine intervention, so it has 2 leitmotifs which is quite interesting

Underrated video
I like how you can tell that this wasn't exactly made by someone who Makes music, because the thousand greetings "leitmotif" (which is just sampling Hakitas own music, less than a leitmotif that creatively modifies or structures a melody in a similar yet unique way), the sample is pitched down, and is exactly the same, yet you didn't put a p, either you forgot or you didn't think it was the same because it wasn't the same pitch.
There's a lot of examples in this that are just samples rather than leitmotifs, most of the records that play are samples, anything new is still sampleable by Hakita themself.
HOWEVER, I will say that it seems that the reoccuring theme that plays in the lust layer, and then in P-1, is significant to minos prime and lust, as it seems to have to do with minos and the city as an overall theme.
