  • In this video, I show how to quickly and easily determine if you have a freewheel or a cassette, and how to remove and reinstall both types. I have several other videos on the many different type of free hub/cassette style interfaces plus freewheel overhaul videos if that's something you're interested in trying to tackle. If you have a special request for your particular situation, let me know in the best English, non slang version that I can understand, and I'll make another video.

Use an old chain and a screw it to a piece of wood to make a chain whip.

I have an e-bike with an electric rear hub motor, and a 11-32 cassette I think (single at the front). Is it possible to change the cassette to a silent one? I assume the pawls are in the middle spinning bearing part of the cassette, nothing to do with the electric rear hub? Excuse my terminology by the way, I’m familiar with bikes but some terminologies confuse the hell out of me. Thanks

Good info Joey! I noticed the TriFlow bottle on your workbench. What do you use it for? Be safe!

Thanks Denis! I use TriFlow for lubing cables on older bikes during tune ups, old shifters, crusty old derailleur pivots, old squeaky derailleur pulleys. Mostly shift and brake cables though...
