If you travel towards Lake Balaton from Budapest you will find our next location, a fascinating and busy station and freight yard plus a depot with 2 turntables. I was also fortunate enough to capture on tape several class M61 locomotives. (A dying breed then). Most likely as the railway books suggested were coming from Tapolca near Lake Balaton. Plenty of Class M62 action and M43, M44 amongst the Electric V43 and V63 plus a V46. Filmed firstly on the station platform end which forms part 1 of the feature and then part 2 where I reposition onto a footbridge adjacent to the depot with a great view of the signal box spanning the railway. The weather had much improved on this day which made the visit even more enjoyable. International trains were seen, one from Italy (FS) and several from Slovakia (ZSR).
I do hope this video entertains and evokes old fond memories of the European Railway Scene of the era.
I hope you are enjoying the series, and if you are familiar with the areas featured, feel free to comment and if you do like the clip please subscribe and Like.
