A possible reason that the air fryer wont work via the onboard generator is, that as the RV is American, their electricity supply is 120Volts, 60Hz (Hertz), where as UK appliances require 240V, 50Hz supply. Some devices now sold, will be multi-voltage compatible, however there will be some that will not work on the American supply, so just keep that in mind.
This makes a lot of sense thank you! Think we are going to get a professional the check out all the electronics when we upgrade the batteries and solar so that it’s all set up correctly😊
I'm genuinely looking forward to the next video. Your channel has everything. An attractive couple with attractive personalities who certainly seem to have both drive and energy. You have a dog who pretends not to know that it is cute. There is the atmosphere of your adventures leading to some stunningly beautiful places . And last, but not least, there is the never-ending 1970s pink movie soundtrack. So massive thanks. And roll-on the next video.

Didn't realise it was you behind us today at the service point in Keltie Bridge!.....Love your videos so far, you both have great personalities and wish you safe travels!
Looking forward to your next video all week. Brilliant little van tour. Keep up the good work, really looking forward to following your fantastic adventure. Good luck...
Great RV guys. well i went full time in my A class, and lived full time 2 years, heres what i did to make it fully off grid. upgraded my solar panels, i would recommend at least 400W SOLAR for your RV. At least 2-3 lithium batteries, 3000 watt inverter, a dc to dc charger (will charge your batteries when driving) i would recommend Victron as its all blue tooth and great quality. i also had a separate ECOFLOW, amazing bit of kit, great for air fryer, and charges really fast. have a spare toilet container for your toilet, incase you break your only one (for pee and poo), a good tracker? i also had a ghost 2 immobiliser (best on market), amazon fire stick was a must (chipped ones even better lol).
Looking good guys handy wee tip nonslip mesh under pots oans and plates etc in all cupboards get it in any store B& M etc stops stuff rattling about when your travelling
Loved this - what an incredible space !! so much to take in - love that you found an outdoor shower literally just now haaa - and yes paint it yourself - while he's playing golf haaaa ssshhh don't tell him I said that ha ha
Thank you!! We loved it as soon as we saw it ❤️ I know not like we’ve had it for 2 months!!! 🫣 too lazy to get the key and open it! Hahaha brilliant idea 😂
I watch many channels like this one. One of those wanted a more modern motorhome but when looking at new ones they found they were not as ideal as their existing class A motorhome so renovated it by using white vinyl to cover most of the wood elements, doors etc. They were very pleased with the outcome. Might be worth considering.
i love the conservatory bit! its all very nice, i am sure theres a way around the air fryer problem, somebody will know, they are so useful! paper plates and throw away things are useful, saves the washing up and the water!
Thank you we love the conservatory soo much can’t wait until we get to places with even better views! 😍 Yep we love a paper plate when off grid soo useful!
If I was upgrading your electrical system, I would swap this charge controller for a Victron. Id swap the leisure batteries for lithium and buy a 240v inverter.......Or you could make life a whole lot easier by buying a large power bank and run everything off that. Power banks can be recharged by the truck when its running or by solar, or by electric hook up at camp sites.
Brilliant video guys. Hooked on ur channel already. Ignore the negative nellies. They need to get out more often! Keep being u and best of luck with all ur upcoming adventures. Dogs are adorable 😍
You might want to look into getting an RV Macerator Pump, it connects to you waste outlet and then you can empty the tanks through a normal hose pipe. Handy if there isn't an RV dump station near you.
Have not heard of that thank you! We have large hoses just now but it can sometimes be difficult if the chemical disposal station is elevated so I guess that would help with that! Do you have an RV yourself?
Aww it looks homely but most of all it’s yours and together you’ll make it in to your home. For now though it still looks fantastic and I hope you both have wonderful times in it building special memories ❤
@@ToKnowFreedom I’m really proud of you both tbh it’s amazing what you’ve both achieved so young. If I had the confidence I’d definitely do what you have. I love the American RV’s too and especially yours as it’s an amazing specification..
Love watching your first few vlogs and look forward to your adventures. My only suggestion for you would be to get a pair of marigolds for the waste and keep them hanging in there on a peg so that you can easily grab them without touching the hands which will be dirty. I would also cover the headboard and def have a go at painting the loo with bathroom paint. Will make a big difference, can’t go wrong. Good luck
Yes they are very professional and know what they are doing, also do real bad arse alarm system, not cheap but well worth the money, will do solar, lithium batteries would leave to them to recommend what you will need for off grid living and safety with alarm system, happy travels Tony and Annie
Highly recommend a Clayton power unit, it will run everything in your RV and it’s just in one compact unit, the solar will also plug straight in, a lot of people are actually moving away from the victron systems and going to Clayton for the simplicity although the victron systems can’t be knocked, loving the videos keep it up!
@@ToKnowFreedom I believe the Clayton units are the same as they use in ambulances ect so I imagine they’re trustworthy and reliable, enjoy the minefield 🤣👍🏻
Would just like to add the Clayton units are what I would I would recommend we did it with a boat we imported from the states and would highly recommend.
Great video. The issue with the air fryer not working on the generator might be related to the AC frequency that the generator outputs, the United States uses 60Hz while Europe uses 50Hz. This problem is not easily resolved, and the best solution is to purchase equipment that can operate on both 50Hz and 60Hz. You can check if this is the case by looking at the generators specification plate.
The reason the air fryer doesn't work on the genny as it's 110V USA not 240V UK electric.. put in full victron system and change the genny for a Honda or and sh1t load of solar @@ToKnowFreedom
Consider buying some bamboo plates and bowls you won’t need to far about putting things in between them when you travel and they are more environmentally friendly than paper plates and plastic plates etc. you could probably do with in at least some of your cupboards installing some extra shelves or pull out draw bits as it looks like it might get to be a bit of a pain having to rummage around for stuff because they look really big. You can also get privacy film for your conservatory windows that will allow you to see out but others won’t be able to see in during the daytime which might help with a sense of privacy. I’m looking forward to watching your journeys and adventures. 😊
Hi Lizzy - thanks for you comment great suggestions ❤️ all of the windows except the front windscreen do have a tint on them so that people can’t really see in but we could add an additional film to make it even more private!! Thank you for watching x
@@ToKnowFreedom you don't have to spend thousands to get a good working lithium setup . Buy a good quality solar generator ( Anker 767 etc ) with a standalone solar panel kit and just plug that into the hook up socket to get high output 240v power. Easy and instant lithium power . T he great thing about this too is you can transfer it to any vehicle as its a mobile setup .
@ToKnowFreedom it's a two pin European house plug on a lead with your hook up plug at other end you can get a 3pin house plug so you can plug your van into say your parents or family houses when visiting
Have a look at the urban motorhome. He has a full off grid electric system, with loads of solar, lithium batteries, inverter, etc. He can tell you where to go and what you need.
Great stuff guys, only thing is fiona noticed fern you were wearing white socks with black sandals.... It's a no no in our motorhome 😁😁 I get a severe row aff her.... 😂, have a great week 👍
Wish we had done what you are doing when we were younger, however we have now got a 8.8 m Motorhome and like you guys, we have been kitting it out for full time living. We did most things and trialed it out at the euros 🙈 we found that the 460ah battery and new victron 50a dc-dc charger along with solar and also an invertor worked great. Didn’t really need EHU, although handy if it’s available. Anyway keep up the good work and you never know, might bump into you (near a golf course )

just a quick tip . As soon as you can get some Owartrol oil on all the steel work thats going rusty . superb stuff . a german wonder liquid that light and easy to apply with no harsh chemicals . also on the remodelling start ith all the curtains carpets and upholstery . dont paint the wood it will destroy the value and unless your a professional paint sprayer it wont look good
Hello guys. Thanks for showing us around. Have you decided on the name yet…..I’m still thinking Marv, proper American and reminds me of the film Home Alone. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻
Great video! 👍 Looking forward to watching your adventures. Just to say about sound quality, maybe invest in a small microphone for when you are away from the camera. Other than that, have a great time and keep the videos coming!
Yes we definitely need to do this we bought some cheap ones but they are not good so we are saving up to get the dgi mics ❤️ Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!
Defo need lithium leisure battery's, fogstar do really good quality battery's. They do a 580ah battery's I would say get two linked. If you have room I would put more solar panels. Inverters and controllers check out renogy, you can go to victron but they are 3 times more expensive
If you're running out of solar then the first thing you should be looking to do is upgrade your batteries (lithium if possible), solar panels & inverter. Good luck on the Reno.
Thank you Jenna!! I think the next one will be our first month in the RV as we have taken soo many videos that we need to edit but we will definitely do a full day in the life soon! ❤️
Would highly recommend you contact Van Bitz, in Somerset for all your solar, and battery needs, let them know how much power you need to live off grid. Tell them I recommended them. Good luck with your travels❤😊
Really enjoying your videos so far! I’d recommend if possible upgrading your camera quality before heading off on your adventures so that your vlogs are better quality 😊
Yes we will look into that for sure! Not sure why but the exposure changed on this video after we exported it so we were a bit disappointed 😔 hopefully the next one is better ❤️
You can buy special bathroom paint I think you should paint it yourself. You would save a fortune. Looking forward to seeing your travels where you’re going. Your RV looks amazing much better than the English ones. It’s about time the English ones did slide out. It makes it much nicer and much bigger.
We will definitely do more research into painting it!! Thank you Clifford - yes we totally agree, as soon as we found out about motor homes with slide outs we knew we needed one as soo much more space especially for living in! 🙌🏼
Think the air problem might be your generator could possibly be a USA 110v spec which will power a lot of uk stuff ok but other stuff might not work, I would recommend a really could power bank linked to solar that you could also recharge from the 110v generator
Hi guys, just found your channel today. Really looking forward to seeing your journey and wish u both the very best of luck. Are there plans to do a video of maybe discussing on where u are planning to go? Which countries and in what order etc? Thanks. Great content.
Hia guys just to let you know you can buy a combe washing machine and dryer put in cupboard next to the fridge freezer give you some tips for an USA camper van
Thank you Ross! We are planing to explore the UK as much as possible before we head over to either France or The Netherlands in the next couple months ❤️
Just a thought on the Air Fryer. Is the internal AC running on the USA standard of 110v when not on hook up. Most electronic devices like TV's in the UK will automatically switch between 110v and 230v so will not be a problem, However most EU products that generate heat via an inductive loads like air fryers will only work on 230v. I hope my comment is helpful. Good luck for the future. Regards Ian
I think you are bang on Ian as the AC only works when the generator is on. Hopefully we can get the battery / solar / inverter upgrade very soon and it will solve our problem 😊
Really great video guys- you both come across as lovely people, and always interesting and entertaining. I've lived on a narrowboat for the last 4 years, 99% of this time being off grid and with no mains power source. So my suggestion comes from my need to stay totally off grid indefinitely, if needed. I do think the amount of money and priority you give to paying for the extra off grid gear will probably depend on how many nights per month you are planning to be off grid, i.e. not on a campsite with electric hookup. If you're going to spend most nights with electric hookup, for example, you might give the off grid capability a bit lower importance, and lower budget. And vice versa of course. To give you a real life example: I use about 150Ah (Ah is amp-hours) of battery capacity every 24 hours. With an air fryer and the other stuff in use, I reckon you guys could be looking at using 300Ah per day easily. I'd want a battery capacity of least 1000 Ah You should put as much solar on the roof as its possible to fit safely and securely. 1000 watts of panels is a useful minimum target, and its a great amount for some people, but more is always better. I have 1400 watts, which sounds a lot, but from November to February they dont give me much power. The ability to tilt the panels to directly face the sun can almost double their yield, but I would imagine it might be complex and expensive to install complex mountings on the top of a road vehicle roof.
Brilliant advice thank you for your in depth comment it’s super helpful as it can be hard to wrap your head around at the beginning when you are unsure of how much you need! ❤️
@@ToKnowFreedom , its great to be able to help, if only by highlighting some of the questions that I faced when I was putting my system together. And I'm fascinated by the idea of living in a big RV or motorhome at some point, so it will be really helpful to learn from your experiences as you meet the challenges. For example, I guess one of the biggest challenges might be how to find overnight parking spaces big enough for the RV - so I cant want to see how you manage all that!
We have actually not found parking too difficult so far! Have been able to get on most campsites as well as find off grid spots. Lots of blog content to come we just need to get it edited 😅😂
There are a few very good channels for learning about RV electrical on youtube. There are also a couple of VERY good RV/Vanlife electrical installers in the UK who you guys should have a chat with.
If you can afford to pay a professional to do any work on the RV then do so , bear in mind you can destroy a lot of the resale value of your RV very easily and you would need specialist paints for many of the surfaces . Also definitely find a specialist for your solar set-up and install Lithium batteries asap , get More capacity that you think that you will need....just-in-case and you may well need to replace your air-fryer with a lower wattage model...Don't install anything Less than a 3000 Watt inverter
Totally agree with john on this ,you may not think of selling but if you can get a professional job done. Cupboard doors can be wrapped carpets can be changed Walls painted but if u do a gash job it will look shite and this is effectively ur hame now. Research solar set up there is company’s where u put in ur requirements ie how many appliances ur this u will have on at anyone time and they tell u how many and what u need , please don’t bodge it u will regret it. Canny wait for you get started ob the renovations oh aye document everything on youtube we all love that kinda stuff keep posting it matter If you think nae one is interested we are lol
I think your generator needs checking out by a electrical engineer. I don’t think it’s sending out enough power to the circuit board which might be why the air fryer won’t work. Just a thought--best of luck.
We thought so too! Yes it can be difficult if the toilet disposal is raised which is the case for most uk sites but we have managed so far using the hoses. There will be content on that in our upcoming vlogs as let’s just say it hasn’t always went smoothly 😅🤢
We actually have been doing a mixture of off gridding and campsites so far! We are looking forward to being able to do the solar panel/ battery/ inverter upgrades and become more self sufficient! Thank you ❤️
Tip for emptying you waste, do the black water first, and then the grey help flush that through after
Yes Sam at Freedom RV advised us to do this its a great shout! ❤️

Aww thank you ❤️ I don’t think the feeling will be mutual 😂
just a quick tip . As soon as you can get some Owartrol oil on all the steel work thats going rusty . superb stuff . a german wonder liquid that light and easy to apply with no harsh chemicals . also on the remodelling start ith all the curtains carpets and upholstery . dont paint the wood it will destroy the value and unless your a professional paint sprayer it wont look good
Think its from Belgium actually, the Owatrol?
Thanks for the tip we will look into it!
Yes think you are right about the upholstery it will make such a difference when we change it out!
God bless you both. Have many happy times in your RV
Thanks Iris! ❤️
Hello guys. Thanks for showing us around. Have you decided on the name yet…..I’m still thinking Marv, proper American and reminds me of the film Home Alone. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻
@Mayso1 We absolutely loved your suggestion! Marv feels like the one to us so thank you 🙏🏼
😁😎👍🏻 🏴 🇺🇸
Your airfry only works when you hooked up, because it runs on 230v, you need an inverter for your solar electric system
Love it you settling in well and can't wait for next one get a lower what airfryer
Thanks for following along dianne!! Yes I think that might be a good solution ❤️
Guys this is absolutely fantastic follow ur dreams !!!!❤❤❤ not as fast as ur car but never mind 😂😂❤ur new m5😉😉😉
Wash yourself in good weather wild camping 😂❤
Ive never seen anyone as excited as jof talking about a moho shower 😂😂❤
😂 if you are talking about the outdoor one it’s because we only just found it!!
i had a 33ft coachman in the UK many years ago.
Also an Ecoflow might be handy, especially for the air fryer.
Have never heard of this before we will look it up - thank you ❤️
you guys are smashing it
Thank you 🥹❤️
Great video! 👍 Looking forward to watching your adventures. Just to say about sound quality, maybe invest in a small microphone for when you are away from the camera. Other than that, have a great time and keep the videos coming!
Yes we definitely need to do this we bought some cheap ones but they are not good so we are saving up to get the dgi mics ❤️
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!
Love the in-depth tour!
Thank you Jenny! 🙏🏼
Defo need lithium leisure battery's, fogstar do really good quality battery's. They do a 580ah battery's I would say get two linked. If you have room I would put more solar panels. Inverters and controllers check out renogy, you can go to victron but they are 3 times more expensive
Renogy definitely appealed to me! Thanks for the advice 🙏🏼
If you're running out of solar then the first thing you should be looking to do is upgrade your batteries (lithium if possible), solar panels & inverter. Good luck on the Reno.
That looks so good, looking forward ta seeing how things go.
Thank you for watching and following along! ❤
was looking forward to this video, loved it! ❤️ a day in the life next😃? X
Thank you Jenna!! I think the next one will be our first month in the RV as we have taken soo many videos that we need to edit but we will definitely do a full day in the life soon! ❤️
Loving the videos guys
@@TomHamilton-b1x thank you 🥰
Would highly recommend you contact Van Bitz, in Somerset for all your solar, and battery needs, let them know how much power you need to live off grid. Tell them I recommended them. Good luck with your travels❤😊
Thank you for the recommendation! Do they instal everything too as we are looking to get it done professionally so we don’t mess anything up!! ❤️
Top tip I’ve changed the shower valve to thermostat trying to get the water at the right temperature is a nightmare and you waste so much water 😉
Such a great idea - didn’t think about that but we definitely done the same!!
I’ve fitted a esteem osca dual lever exposed it’s got adjustable hole centers so you can get it to fit 😉
Bloody hell! That rear view mirror/screen is massive. 😂 😉
😂😂
How a great van! Enjoy it! 🚎
Thank you we absolutely love it! 🥰
Amazing man! Awesome adventures await you both!
Iain at Morrisons ☮️🌈🍄💩
Lovely to meet you brother 🙏 Hopefully see you again on the road!
U should definitely do the painting yourself, your own little touches 👍
We will see how expensive it is to get painted professionally and decide! ❤️
good luck driving to lake district, wales, kent, cornwall with that
Really enjoying your videos so far!
An Ecoflow Delta Pro with an Ecoflow Alternator Charger will fix all your power needs off grid - air fryer etc etc.
Will look into this thank you 🙏🏼
Try ecoflow if you are looking at battery upgrades guys
Have had a few people recommending ecoflow now so we will definitely check them out thank you 🙏🏼
Just subscribed well done on the channel guys its brilliant
Thanks Dean very kind of you ❤️
Think the air problem might be your generator could possibly be a USA 110v spec which will power a lot of uk stuff ok but other stuff might not work, I would recommend a really could power bank linked to solar that you could also recharge from the 110v generator
Ah yes that would make a lot of sense!! Thank you we will look into getting one 🥰
Hi guys, just found your channel today. Really looking forward to seeing your journey and wish u both the very best of luck. Are there plans to do a video of maybe discussing on where u are planning to go? Which countries and in what order etc? Thanks. Great content.
Thank you ❤️ We had not thought of doing that but thats a great idea thank you!
Great rv, I love it 👍
Iv just seen an amazing rv called full house in Whitby today it was huge and pure luxury it must take a wagon to tow it 👌🙌
Some of them are incredible - you get ones that can fit a full car inside 🤯
Hia guys just to let you know you can buy a combe washing machine and dryer put in cupboard next to the fridge freezer give you some tips for an USA camper van
Don’t think we have enough room to be honest!
I look forward to your videos,we're is you 1st trip going to be
Thank you Ross! We are planing to explore the UK as much as possible before we head over to either France or The Netherlands in the next couple months ❤️
Need more frequent videos troops 👏🏻💚
Every Sunday 😉❤️
Just a thought on the Air Fryer. Is the internal AC running on the USA standard of 110v when not on hook up. Most electronic devices like TV's in the UK will automatically switch between 110v and 230v so will not be a problem, However most EU products that generate heat via an inductive loads like air fryers will only work on 230v. I hope my comment is helpful. Good luck for the future. Regards Ian
I think you are bang on Ian as the AC only works when the generator is on.
Hopefully we can get the battery / solar / inverter upgrade very soon and it will solve our problem 😊
@@ToKnowFreedom Yes lots of solutions for you out there. Thank you for taking the time to reply so quickly.
I'd want a battery capacity of least 1000 Ah
You should put as much solar on the roof as its possible to fit safely and securely.
Thank you we will have a look! If you have any recommendations please let us know! ❤️
@@ToKnowFreedom i think the links are getting deleted because yt thinks im spamming?
if you guys have instagram or X I can send there
If you can afford to pay a professional to do any work on the RV then do so , bear in mind you can destroy a lot of the resale value of your RV very easily and you would need specialist paints for many of the surfaces . Also definitely find a specialist for your solar set-up and install Lithium batteries asap , get More capacity that you think that you will need....just-in-case and you may well need to replace your air-fryer with a lower wattage model...Don't install anything Less than a 3000 Watt inverter
Brilliant advice John cheers!
We will weigh up the costs of both!
Yes we were thinking 3000W minimum 🙌🏼
Don’t you worry we are planning to document it all ❤️
The highs and the lows 😊
We live in our 6 berth motor home. So want to get one of these RV's guys. Loving the videos so far. Keep it up ❤
I think your generator needs checking out by a electrical engineer. I don’t think it’s sending out enough power to the circuit board which might be why the air fryer won’t work. Just a thought--best of luck.
Thank you we will look into getting it checked!
Cracking lay out!! On the black waste, is that just going into the normal elsan toilet point?
We thought so too! Yes it can be difficult if the toilet disposal is raised which is the case for most uk sites but we have managed so far using the hoses. There will be content on that in our upcoming vlogs as let’s just say it hasn’t always went smoothly 😅🤢
No stealth camping in that then eh. Enjoy😊
We actually have been doing a mixture of off gridding and campsites so far! We are looking forward to being able to do the solar panel/ battery/ inverter upgrades and become more self sufficient! Thank you ❤️
