Edit*** I know bosses are immune to loss of control, and slow type skills. I recorded this at 3 AM and apparently I didn't connect the dots in the moment.
This gem stood out to me just before I scrapped my Bloody Reach to dive in on 1-star gems, because that gem had a 3-second speed debuff with a really weak chance(~1.2%). With a lower spending pricepoint, it's definitely better to at least create a surplus collection of 1-stars and duplicates before building any real progress on higher rarity gems imo. While having flexibility between Awakening Skill Bonuses and Essences, It's also good to create a kind of "Roadmap" for what a player should build next through focusing on the gems for the Awakening Resonance slots.
60% magic find is why I use all 2 star gems without breaking the bank and being 1140res

I have 5% magic find and find many green and legendaries. Magic find is all but useless as I invested in the treasure hunter paragon tree
@@MrBacon717 Magic find is the only factor that applies to actual Legendary drops.Treasure find only increases the drop rate for gear in which you may find a legendary drop if the extra loot dropped rolls as a legendary drop, ultimately you just get your bag full of gear faster. Magic find does not apply to Green set drops nor does Treasure find, nothing applies to Green set drops unless it's a boosted dungeon.
In general, 2 stars aren't viable. 1 stars and 5 stars both have their place: 1 stars unlock gear awakening for cheap(a MUST on certain classes) while sacrificing A LOT of resonance , and 5 stars are the best but come at a high cost. 2 stars on the other hand, are the worst of both worlds: they're weak in resonance like 1 stars, but prohibitively expensive like 5 stars. So even if the effect is good or great(like with a couple of the dps 2 stars), their cost to resonance make them completely unusable. It's a shame because a couple of them would be meta if this was reworked(not this one tho, this new 2 star is doodoo)

I'm not sure about that if your goal is the resonance + effects
It takes effectively 201 gem fragments to rank a 1 star from 1-10
It takes effectively 845 gem fragments to rank a 2 star from 1-10
It takes effectively 6786 gem fragments to rank a 5 star from 1-10
Now obviously i know your not really talking about ranking 5 star gems because those people wouldnt really care about any of this as there spending 7,000-13,000 dollars on the game, i get it its not the demographic your actually talking about with this game.
but the true cost of ranking a 2 star from 1-10 is 40 copies of that gem + 685 gem fragments, because you can/will earn 2 star gems from weekly play, use your rare crests to get ATI runes and buy several copies of the 2 star gems you need per week (obviously not counting fervant fang). not to mention Power and Command by comparison is significantly cheaper than 5 stars for the gem fragments. on my server 2 stars go 3200-3500 while 2/5 stars go for 33,000-45,000 plat.
Even if we only consider the mantra of "work towards getting a 2/5 star gem to rank 5" for the Magic find and resonance thats 7x 2/5 stars gems and on my server that would 224,000 plat (32,000ea) and for the worst gem Zwenson's haunting thats pretty much only good for endless defense of Cyrangar.
now for 224,000 platinum i could buy 70 power and commands (and i only need 40 to go to rank 10) this would give me a gem that gives really good dmg alternating between 24% skill/primary dmg and free dispell in PvP 300 resonance (70 less than rank 5 2 start) BUT ALSO an awakened slot.
it would be far more expensive if i considered a BSJ, Seeping Bile or Bottled hope as those are usually 40-45,000 plat for a 2/5 star (BSJ is 55,000 right now on my server for a 2/5)
So basically if i take my server which is high pop East Coast Doombringer and compare the cheapest 2/5 star for a power and command, and give myself a budget of 224,000 plat

10% Magic Find

and thats still not considering Power and Commands can and will be acquired from just daily play doing rifts with regular crests, so you wont need to buy 40 to begin with.
First off that's a dang book! haha I appreciate your effort! Second yeah I personally won't recommand anyone to take a 5 star up to 10 unless you won Power Ball. I may have to build up a P&C to rank 5 to test out? I used one rank 1 or 2 early on and didn't notice any difference, BUT it was probably cus I was still in the learning my class and how gems even worked haha But serious love the info, thanks for sharing!!!

It doesn't work on bosses? The entire 10% damage bonus is only available on trash mobs.... I hope they fix this. The gem is only pvp otherwise
I believe it "works as intended" I filmed while sleep deprived and forgot Bosses generally aren't affected by slowing skills so that is most likely the thing going on here.
@@JKG_Brandon Yea but why even have that damagevbonus for trash mobs and it being diminished in pvp. The 10% is similar to masterminds 20% debuff, I would think it would be the only reason to use the gem outside pvp
Yeah, I can't recommend it for any real use case personally.
The movement speed part doesn't effect the boss but the damage increase does. I have a Rank 7 and have done multiple test.

Is the gem best in BG? I think its probably best there, but you may have something better already, just depends on your own account.

Blessings Pebble is one of the better Legendary gems that's better then most 5 stars
I have a rank 10 Beserkers eye awakened that I’m using over a 4/5 bottled hope for the extra dmg
Berserker's Eye is definitely one of the best 1 stars in the game

Have you got the gem unlocked high enough to unlock the increase damage multiplier?
Also I've noticed it proc in bosses almost every time I use it. Mine is rank 7 and 7.5% damage increase feels pretty good for a 2star. I use it on aoe dot necro so it's always triggered.
No I haven't, but I'll take it up and have a look. Maybe if all we get is the dmg boost from it on bosses it can be usable? I think I'll make a shorts video once I can test that.
