This brings back so many memories. We did the Outer Hebrides from North to South in our camper over about 16 days. It was in late May 2018 and the weather was hot and sunny for the whole time and we couldn't get over the white beaches, blue skies and the turquoise seas. We kept bumping into various people we had spoken to on the boat from Ullapool and a couple of them even caught the same boat as us back to Oban. We very rarely saw anyone on the big beaches, it was normally just us and our dogs with maybe another dog walker. The one exception was on South Uist were we pulled up about as far away from the road as we could, were just making dinner and a knob in a big RV parked about 5 yards away and blocked our view of the sea when he could have parked anywhere on about 5 acres of perfect flat land.
Defo girl , you're possibly the easiest youtuber to watch , videos are so calming and your choice of music is spot on .. keep on going young Becky X 💪 🙌 🙏
Another great video. Best thing I ever did was get rid of my house so i own nothing. Got a caravan in 2015 and decided to travel. It was the best feeling, was away in Anglesey for a month, packed up a few bits from my house that fitted into 2 boxes and stored under my caravan bed. Gave house key to neighbours and said to let people help themselves. Got back and everything had gone, furniture, cooker, freezer and even carpets. Went to Hebridies and travelled UK for 5 years, the did a massive road trip through Spain and over to Tenerife on ferry. Been living here in caravan and working remotely for 3 years and never want to leave. Now a Spanish resident.
Fair play mate for doing that, takes guts to do that in style and let everyone help themselves to everything in your house. I will assume you were mortgage free. Probably lucky you did it when you did to be honest :-)

@@GirlOutdoors I need to plan a trip back to Barra, but flights are not cheap from my airport. Did you get chance to visit the castle in Castlebay on the boat? Great place to explore, like a small village inside the castle with its own houses around the edge of a garden inside the castle walls.

Greetings Becky! Congratulations on another adventure! I commented on another post of yours. As for the feet, I learned a lot by trekking. For example, to avoid blisters, wear two socks, one thin and one thick. Apply a lot of Vaseline to your feet before walking. Also try walking in sandals. Keep your feet dry. Because blisters can be your worst nightmare while hiking. Big hug and I wish you great trails.❤
Scotland never ceases to amaze. One day as hot as Spain & looking sensational. Next day blowing a gale & chilly. The good thing is neither of those contrasting weather conditions is good for the dreaded midge. Loving the different feel to this trail & looking forward to the next video xx
Wow, what a taxing but beautiful trip. I love challenging myself and it seems like you like to as well. These experiences always make me feel more alive and more appreciative of everything. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
Thankyou for sharing another great trip, Becky. I'm not young any more, but you inspire me to keep on hiking for a while. The hills I've climbed several times seem to be getting steeper.
another incredible adventure Becky! you are pushing yourself physically and mentally, really inspiring to watch. Makes me feel alive and rejuvenated! thanks for sharing with us, really appreciate you 🤗 can't wait for the next one!
Excellent little mini series Becky👍 It must certainly have been a gruelling trip to vlog😰Well done for all the hard work you’ve put into it and for pushing on through each day. Looking forward to watching the next episode. Stay safe and happy hiking🙂 Mike
I knew you were near Askernish when you started the video, The golf course is the most extraordinary natural links course totally naturally maintained. And the views are spectacular. I will be there in August in the motorhome and can't wait. Beautiful film of my favourite place to be.

Spectacular places, know you got a bit pissed with what happened with your screen but apart from that you have always got a smile, hope you don't have to much bother with your feet, until the next one look after yourself 👍
Hi Becky awesome scenery sorry about your camera, you've really proved your the Best survival Girl pleased things got better and keep hydrated, as always take Good Care
Always impressed at how you capture the moments on your camps. Long solo hikes can be rough, never mind trying to record it all to the standard as you do. Top stuff!
Absolutely beautiful place for a long hike. It's been pretty hot here in Texas. 108f yesterday out here where I work at. Cheers lass love ya. And be careful in the heat.
It's really interesting seeing the route from a walking perspective and I can absolutely relate to the heat! We had the heat for a few days and it changed overnight when we had reached the Butt of Lewis. We'd had a headwind and nice weather all week but then as soon as we turned around to come back again the wind swung around to a headwind again. Although I have to say the cycling route does spend a fair amount of time on A-roads so it's nice to see the walking route taking a more remote path. Know exactly the feeling when your camera screen smashed because when I got to the Hebrides my Garmin died and then I smashed my phone screen so I think the islands just don't like too much electronic equipment. 😊
Your poor feet! The footage you've taken so far is amazing Becky....don't get to see that in real life under my circumstances. Must be hard trying to go lightweight and still be prepared for two totally different weathers in the same place.
Absolutely amazing video Becky, still.cant believe the weather for the start of your journey. This is turning out to be an amazing adventure, Cape Wrath is one of my favourites but this is truly fabulous. Keep loving the life Becky. Sorry about the camera girl 😭
Your hairs growing long Becky since I first subscribed a couple of years ago. Love the video. Hope you ain't done too much damage to your camera. Hope it can be fixed. I love Scotland. It's still my dream to go walking there some day. These videos are favourites. Your walking videos 👍, I love them.
In a good day you can see St Kilda from Benbecula (Beinn na Faoghla) and North Uist ( Uibhist a Tuath) , 40 miles out in the Atlantic and if you're feeling adventurous you can take a boat trip there from Leverburgh, Harris. Sea Harris is the boat company and they'll take you to the double world heritage site in 3 hrs where you'll pass the sea stacks, bird colonies and the spectacular abandoned island of Hirta where an old church and school house remain. Whatever you do, I hope you have a wonderful time. PS: I recommend Langass Lodge in N Uist for a good meal and visit the nearby stone circles.
The landscape is beautiful. Has it always been treeless? I heard the Merino toe socks are wonderful for not getting blisters. Thanks for the video and stay well and be safe.
I went in Lovats on south uist to get some supplies, then just a bit further when entering north uist there is quite a large coop. Nice seafood restaurant in South usit, forget the name.
Appreciate much to you Ms.Becky that always bring your best smile in your video. And hopefully you have enough time to take better care of your body 🙏 Semangat :))
I see you got the sun cream just in time, haha :-). Exactly what would happen to me, soon as you buy it, clouds over. Love the intro to this video, that white sandy beech and the music works so well. Enjoy the rest of the trip
Hey Becky. You mention the heat there. What is considered "hot" there? Asking from a position of camping in temps of mid to upper 90's with 105 degree heat indexes. Fahrenheit here of course. Hate to hear about your camera. Hope you get it fixed or replaced soon! I fully understand the necessity to video for channels, etc. this day and age, and do myself also. But one of the better pack trips I made was a section of the Appalachian Trail, dropped and broke the camera right off, first mile or so. Best trip ever as I was unencumbered by the trappings and was able to stand and drink in the sights and fully absorb into memory. No gadgetry to take the attention away.
I did my first Lond distance (WHW) after watching your videos, I'm doing this one next summer. Will you do another load out & review video after the series is finished. Thanks
I would far rather rough it a bit on the Outer Hebrides than stay in the swankiest spa with the poshest food. For once my wife actually agrees with me.
Hey Becky! I notice at 3.29 you have an anker solar charger, how do you rate it for light weight back packing trips? Great video as always, hope you camera was able to be repaired.
Maybe Scottish midges are different but I was attacked by them at Ribblehead station in the Yorkshire Dales National Park at about 0630 so maybe English one's get up early!
I reckon it's your boots Beccy...they look soft and flexible to me, which means they rub more. If you can, experiment with a stiffer sole...just my thoughts, for what they're worth!🤷♂️ Great video - of course!
Great video as always. Pity about your camera. At least it wasn't you that went down and possibly hurt. The blisters could be caused by your boots. They will settle over time especially with the miles you put on them. Or it could be your socks or a combination of both. Well stay safe and healthy. Looking forward to the next video.
Spray your feet with a good antiperspirant and let it dry then put a good covering of baby powder or something similar and your feet will vastly improved…..it’s the sweat from your feet that causes friction between your feet and your shoes
Hi, you're a natural at making these trip videos! Sorry to see the camera damage incident, ooops. 😆 I see from one of your other videos that you used to be a competitive cyclist. I wonder if you have ever explored bikepacking? Takes all the strain off your back and feet (which got beaten up here) as the bike carries the load, and it also means you can cover far more ground. I like to do it on a fat bike with 4" tyres and this can roll almost anywhere that you can walk - including a lot of sand, snow and soft mud surfaces. I prefer a more traditional rack and pannier setup with the majority of the weight low on the bike as opposed to the current trend of bikepacking bags high up which do have some advantages but also many limitations. Some channels that explore this: ua-cam.com/users/forestyforest ua-cam.com/users/IohanGueorguiev ua-cam.com/users/FatTraction See what you think.
Pay attention others that want to, or already make, content like this.
