I have read the story of the actual events this movie is based on and what truly disturbs me is that the first victim was seen by many motorists running away from her abductor, with the bottom half of her body naked, crying and yelling for help and NOBODY stopped to help her. I can only hope Karma paid each one of them tri-fold. Perhaps if one of those cowards stopped to help her she would still be alive today. Also, it's unbelievable that the evidence in case of the first and the last victim was lost or destroyed. With the advances in genetic testing it could possibly lead to the perpetrators who committed those crimes. BTW I believe those were two different people.
yeah, terrible and what would it have taken to stop? It most likely would have scared the killer off without confronting him....and who knows, might have deterred him from killing the other girls as well.........

And the police LOST the genetic evidence. They only have the samples from the 2nd child. I also read that there was a suspect who went to jail, and after 30 years they let him out. And apparently they claim they don't have a genetic material from him to compare. After 30 years in jail, they don't have his DNA?! Unbelievable!
This is actually a very good movie. One for 'film buffs' - people who don't need a happy ending, or to know what's happening all the time. Very good performances and lots of stars. Quite disturbing, but more satisfying than movies from the 2020s.
Love this actress Eliza Dushku. She's very good. Good movie. Clairvoyance is looked at as being mentally unstable but it is real it happens. And it is frightening to the people who have it.

Man i feel so sorry for people having to go thru schizophrenia. You have to be strong as an ox to live with that and find some quality in life. Seen a documentary about it and the way it was worked into the story was very well done.
Delusions are not always due to schizophrenia, though perhaps this was the case for this detective. Temporary delusions can be caused by drugs, even by marijuana, traumatic experience, or just significant stress.
@@carlabroderick5508 I know but the type hallucinations she experienced are completely in line with what people suffering the disorder explained, plus.. nowadays that comes with screen magic they used to explain what exactly these hallucinations look like most of the time that's why i thought of that. I smoke weed, suffer CPTSD and also used all sorts of hard drugs. I only had ONE hallucination. I am 50.

I don’t think it’s a true story. I could be wrong but the similarities to an Agatha Christie story are hard to overlook. It plays off more like a failed pilot.

This is based off of the deaths of three young girls with identical initials. Carmen Colon, Wanda Walkowick and Michelle Maenza in upstate NY. Of course the director is going to have creative control but it is a true story.
This is a weird coincidence maybe but a guy in California named Joseph Naso is on death row for the deaths of six women, one of them Carmen Colon 22. But in the upstate NY case the same name of one of the girls was Carmen Colon aged 11. They think he's the one that did these three as well. There was one man that spent 25 years in prison for one of them but later released, I couldn't find his name in the article I read.
This movie is a combination of other serial murders. Bundy, the Alphabet murderer and a California murderer who killed children, perhaps Terry Childs. Interesting 🤨

The actress playing Megan is outstanding. Good work, it seems the rapist and killer out smart the Police Department. They put the only person who can solve these crimes in a solitary mental hospital... It's a good story with some good actors.

She is also a fictional character......and not part of the "based on a true story" btw.........I actually was more intrigued about her existence than I was about the REAL murders......the only truth to this film is that 3 young girls were all killed in similar manner in the Rochester NY area from 1971 to 1973 and then the killing stopped......and no one was ever caught.....these FACTS tend to suggest the murderer either died or got imprisoned for something else, or even another murder that wasn't a child. It's also possible the killer committed suicide.......of course, this was way before DNA testing and cell phones. They had a scene which depicted one of the murder victims had a cell phone which she had left at home the day she was murdered......

There are now very fancy hotels with “noir atmosphere” very irritating also 😂😂 my daughter and i laughed so much. Everything was soo dark. We had to feel along the walls in the wardrobe because we couldnt see a thing. So weird.
YT crime movies are really educating me.. I had not realized that most of the best Detectives are young, 20'ish females who gave up catwalk modelling to catch serial killers ... and show lesser talented male Detectives how its done. I'm done at 15 minutes.....after the supernatural rubbish started.

This is a good thriller… I hope the end is as solid as the beginning. Aren’t nearly enough good thrillers to satisfy my nightly thrillerlust. This one is highly recommended based on the first hour or so…👍🏻

The actress that plays Wendy's mom was in an AMC cop show unfortunately I forgot the name. It was similar and dark. I think I young girl was murdered but my memory is poor now. I wish I could remember the name of the AMC show because I missed a few episodes.

The problem with modern movies is that too many scenes are filmed in the dark. We had better images in the forty, the fifty, and the sixty.

I suspected the policeman in the blue uniform. So nobody believes her, cause mad. To try to investigate the real killer, to this date? Did she die?

The movie clearly said she's schizophrenic, not psychic. That's why the character is portrayed in this way. If she were sane and a psychic, it'd be very different how she was portrayed.

Frustrating film because too often it is the easy way out for the police and the martyrdom of those trying to help that is the real outcome.
The director of this movie did an awful job with the script and qualified actors.. It could have been a better movie with a better director.. I watched it all.. It could have been better..

The actress that plays Wendy's mom was in an AMC cop show unfortunately I forgot the name. It was similar and dark. I think I young girl was murdered but my memory is poor now. I wish I could remember the name of the AMC show because I missed a few episodes.
