This worked amazingly. I used the technique a little differently, but it worked fine. I tried to take out my earring and the back wouldn't come out. (It wasn't stuck in my ear or anything) It really hurt, I cleaned everything too. I cried a little bit out of disappointment and then saw this. I put the bobby pin on, took the top with my other hand, put 2 fingers on the bobby pin and pulled. It came out instantly with no pain, and even putting in a new earring didn't hurt. Thank you so much for sharing this!!

i tried to remove my earring for like 5 months and i couldn’t, and i don’t have any pliers. I tried this and not only is my earring out but it didn’t hurt at all. the positioning of the bobby pin is a little bit awkward (specially if you’re doing it on yourself) but it’s a 100% worth it

Thankyou so much! Seriously. I was in agony and discomfort for the last week from the needle point pushing into my neck while I was sleeping. I must have pushed the butterfly right up to the back of my ear somehow! Idk it just happens when you least expect it . The butterfly was stuck and I couldn't get it out no matter what I tried , you couldnt see anything but the diamond in my ear and that's coming from a 23 year old male. This video worked like a charm after I put the Bobby pin through the holes of the butterfly and used a nail clipper to push the needle point out I was able to use my hands and get the stuck butterfly out of my ear. Never again will I use cheap metal!
Seriously, it may hurt at first but it's better than having an earing stuck and discomfort all through the night but don't be afraid to put a little pressure when you're pulling the Bobby pin and pushing down on the needle point. That's how I got mine off which I thought I'd have to seek medical help and we are in lockdown 😂

I'm also a male and when I was 15, l got my left ear pierced at the local jewellery store, by a lady who used a gun to fire a piercing stud through my earlobe. After 6 weeks, l went to remove the earring, but the butterfly backing had moved along the post and just would not budge. After ages of trying to remove the butterfly backing, but to no avail, my earlobe was bright red, painful and swelling up.
At this point my Mum got in from work, saw my inflamed earlobe, promptly got the pliers and some tweezers, got the pliers gripping the ball on the front of the stud and the tweezers on the butterfly backing and within 10 seconds the backing was off and the earring had been removed from my ear.
The ear stud was all damaged on its face from the pliers, but this did not matter as it had served its purpose anyway. I couldn't put my new earring in till the next day, when the swelling had gone down, but Mum had saved the day again.
This was nearly 40 years ago, (1985) but watching this video and reading your comment brought back memories from then.

She had them in for 10 months 🤦🏾‍♀️ i brought her new earrings for her bday and couldn’t get them out. She just went to the doctor and i forgot to tell her. I tried while she was sleep and she woke up. I sung a song to her, “stretch, stretch the bobbin pin, stretch the bobbin pin”. It came out. She said “Yay mommy!!”. She’s 2.

i got my ears pieced when i was 4 and have had the same starter earrings in ever since. I can turn them around inside but the back of the earring in stuck in place as it wont come off the metal rod that you stick into your ear. this isnt working and ive been researching for hours. Any suggestions?

This method was the only one that worked for me. Maybe get somebody else to do it for you?

Omg i had a different kind of back on, It was plastic and cylindrical so I used a different bobby pin that didnt have any curves and was more flat and squeezed it behind it and did this trick and it worked. Mine had 2 clicks before I was able to get it off. And my ear is a little red because I have super sensitive skin but It didn't/doesn't hurt at all!! I highly recommend this.
