    Discussion in this podcast was filled with sharing both sides of each point -positive/negative. Always appreciate how Josh and Katie express their honest feelings and also express how the other side may feel. Everyone’s core values are different and play a big part in how they will respond to reasons why they want or do not want children. Great podcast! Give it a listen!

    @21:00 👏👏👏👏 So on point Katie thank you. I'm 40 with no kids and it's 100% financial. I'm a passionate artist who has always prioritized my personal artsy fun over everything else! I don't have extra for a kid and would have to switch paths completely in order to do so... and I'm okay with it because it is apparently God's plan! I'm not anti-kid, Ive just always followed my heart and this is where it has led me! And yes I would never want to bring a child into a poverty state, a child deserves much more!

    18:00 sooooo true, and I am so thankful you shared this point of view. I am an educator, and it always blows my mind how many kids not only do not stand for the pledge but don’t understand the REASON we stand for the flag. It is also so sad because this has changed drastically right after my generation. We ALL had to stand for the pledge every morning and recite the pledge. I miss those days, and I love this country.

    17:35 On the Pledge of Allegiance part, my school FORCES kids to stand. If you don't, you get kicked out. If we have so called "freedom", kids should be able to have their own opinion and values on what they believe or don't believe.

    I'm a mom of three and kids change absolutely everything!!! Not one thing is the same. No showers by yourself, no breaks, no ability for date nights anymore. I feel if you have money life with kids isn't as hard but if you're struggling there are days i just cry and just wish i could have one day for self care but it's not ever going to happen.
    But i love them and their reactions and how they see the world is the sweetest thing ever. And i dont regret it.

      @Divine date nights are just not the same at home kids c9me out of rooms and I can't turn mom mode off. Time is not the issue it's the $100 for babysitting plus whatever your date costs. It takes me two days pay to pay for the sitter and then another day for the date.. it's hard . I just get annoyed by this part not being spoke about. I even have a masters degree lol the sitter gets more then I do. Wrong career.

      Why do you say all this stuff that's a lie? How can you not shower by yourself? My husband was totally fine with me showering..... why do people say that? It's so weird. Date nights? There is such thing as a sitter lol and you can definitely still have intimate moments when your child is around or sleeping. Kids are really not that big of a burden if you actually love and care for them how you're supposed to. Sure kids are annoying sometimes but I never looked at my kids as a burden and I had my first one at 17.

    • @larac.8797
      @larac.8797 Рік тому

      @Mary Chantler well going out for a sitter is at least $100 for night. Daycare is $500 a week.
      My spouse works 7 days a week so can't exactly be there when I feel like taking a shower like this morningmy kid was screaming for me the entire time and had to get out with shampoo in my hair. Lol nothing a said is a lie. I love them they aren't a burden but it is definitely not easy and your life 100% changes. Like grocery shopping requires two carts one for them one for food. It's a huge adjustment.

      same in my school. but it's always rushed and not how it used to be. people talk over it and look at their phones. i am a firm believer in it and not everything has to be turned political, however the pledge is to show how those people sacrificed their lives to give us our country.
      And some people say that we don't have a free country or whatever, but i don't think that should matter because people would damn we'll be complaining if they lived somewhere with a king and a queen lol (no offense to people that live in the UK😌)

      @@wisey274 I completely agree. It’s sad. The point in saying the pledge isn’t because we have or don’t have a free country. It’s so that we can keep the hope from what our country once was when we were free.

    It even being a question of why people don’t have children is so annoying. Some people genuinely just have no desire and that’s completely fine. Josh had said what would you do🙄 you can do so much without kids. I got what he was saying, but it came off to me as what would life be without a child by the time you reach a certain age. Yes life with kids is fun, but it’ll also be fun without kids. This is coming from a 20 year old that wants kids in the future!!!

    I don’t wanna have kids because I’ve never been in a healthy loyal relationship. I just got divorced recently (I’m 29) and I don’t feel like kids would be appropriate to have with the “wrong one” and now I don’t know how to trust myself to choose correctly. And yes I fasted and prayed and “knew” day 1 that my ex husband was the one for me. And I kept getting sent “signs” that he was and we DID get married. So now I feel like I’m insane for having faith at all in a God that I don’t know if I believe in anymore. So talking about another relationship let alone kids.. it makes me cry.

    Honestly, I was not ready when I got pregnant at 21 and had my son at 22, but I wouldn't change it for the world. He is this bright light that brings so much joy to the world. So many people tell me I did an amazing job, and i'm just like "Its all him" God truly has the perfect timing when it comes to kids; even if it doesn't work the way you think it will, they are always a blessing.
    As for not having kids because of bad childhoods. I had a really bad/messed up one and it pushed me to break the generational trauma and no my kids don't worry about me going off the wall on them and while we don't have a lot of money, it doesn't stop them from having an amazing childhood from what we can do. Having a kid is all about sacrificing things for their betterment, and I'd give my legs and arms if it meant their life doesn't go to shit at any part of their journey.

    40:50 such a good point, I truly believe love is the most important thing in the world, it's the first fruit of the spirit in the bible, if you do not have love you don't have the other fruit of the spirit, it is so terrible living in a house with no love, you grow up thinking everyone hates you, no one actually likes you, you do not know how to love people and when you do get love it feels weird, and you convince yourself its not real, and you don't love people you tolerate people
