I hate the AC locos, they are dour and just boring. I'd prefer to see the diesel locos being fitted to the trains especially the ALCOS. These engines honking and chugging are so awesome and the grunt these engines provide is unique and unparalleled

Here is the correct way to accelerate an Alco locomotive: Patience. notch 2 notch 3 ,the train gain in speed and later notch 4.....5.....6 until 8. Notch 8 from zero speed isnt recomendable. what we gain?? bad acceleration and smoke.

@@rsubram24 No no. What I meant is generally Indian railways trains are very slow,with average Speed range of 40 km/ h to 90 km/h.... Our country railways have not made progress with time. It is desirable to run trains at average 90 km/h speed , that is you should reach Chennai from Coimbatore in four hours time max.Only when traveling time is shortened, then we can say that we are a fast developing nation. At this rate we can't call ourselves a developing nation....
