    Hey man! Loved the video! By any chance do you know if this is the same steps in a 2019 Audi SQ5? I believe its the same engine so it should be the same...correct?

    What make of oil and what viscosity are you using?

    Thank you for the video. I am thinking about an oil change at 2k miles( i know manual says 10k...). Was wondering if the pump can drain all the oil or will leave a significant amount in the engine? Also do you know if these engines have drain plugs? Some are magnetic and will collect engine metal debris Some drain plugs metal- does make sense to clean that or it is better to leave it alone and just use the pump. Thanks again

      The extraction is the recommended method in the service manual. I've used this pump twice and it pumps out all the oil. Just push the handle a few more times until you hear no more slurping sound.

    A great DIY video. Can you do one for the spark plug maintenance?

      I changed mine recently, just remove some cover on each side of the cylinder, for the oil separator side you need to pull those cables out of the way.

    The fact that you didnt mention what type of oil..brand/viscosity.....makes me realize i need to start doing videos that actually explain everything needed if you are new to owning an audi s5 b9.

    I'm about to do an oil change too but question is how do know if all the used oil is completely vaccumed from the engine. At least the traditional way you know when is completely drained. Thanks

    • @ruthlessluder
      @ruthlessluder  5 років тому +1

      When you place the tube in you want to make sure it reaches the bottom of the pan. When it's done you'll hear a slurping sound like when you try to drink from a straw from an empty cup. You'll also be able to tell by the amount of oil in the tank.

    Hey man, thanks for the video, i can see yourest the oild sevice in mmi but I believe there should still be a "service Due" jumping out on the dashboard, did you use any OBD stuff to reset?

    How do drain the oil from the oil extractor? Is it easy to get the old oil into the empty bottles of oil?

    • @ruthlessluder
      @ruthlessluder  2 роки тому +1

      The extractor has a spout. You can take the whole container to Autozone and they'll dump it out for you. No need to fill the little bottles.

    Can you go underneath and do it the traditional way?

      you can. but why would you want to? It's so much simpler and quick via an oil extractor from the top

      The coolant reservoir is located under one of those plastic flaps on the passenger side.

    Fellow S5 Sportback owner here... Sorry for the dumb question, but without a true dipstick, how did you know when you had filled with enough oil? Are you able to watch that using the MMI or did you just estimate and then check in MMI later? Thanks!

    • @dereitz
      @dereitz 3 роки тому +4

      To answer my own question from years ago. You can turn on the ignition (without pressing brake so engine does not start). Then pull up the MMI oil display and you can see the level. After you fill with oil, there is a 30-60+ sec delay before the level will update in the MMI display. Alternatively, you can also buy the dipstick for the S5 SB from ECS tuning.

    Hi there, do you think 0w20 is too thin for this engine/ tuned .

      0W20 is what my dealer recommended. I have a 21 S5 up here in Canada

    Could you send a picture of the dipstick? I can’t find this on my S5 2018 B9. Thanks

    • @ruthlessluder
      @ruthlessluder  5 років тому

      There is no dipstick. All you'll find is a little plastic plug. You can buy an aftermarket dipstick to replace that plug though.

      Did you account for the new oil filter, that needs to fill up with the fresh new oil? The filter itself is an empty space that will fill with the new oil once the engine is started, so the oil level will drop a bit from where it was before the initial start up with the new oil. The electronic oil level meter shows only 1 quart. From the bottom of the electronic gauge to the max line, that is 1 quart/32oz. If the oil filter needs 4oz to fill it, then the oil level gauge should show less that amount.
