1:40 as far as I know a DCO isn't a digital oscillator, it's an Analog oscillator with digitally controlled tuning. There are differences in sound with a VCO, but mainly just the stability. Like a Juno is all analog, but it has DCO's to make the tuning more stable and precise, but they still sound amazing!

I saw one of Anthony Marinellis first videos about programming synth bass... I'd been programming synths for over 20 years by this point and have seen a lot of really unhelpful "synth tips" videos on youtube.. but his explanations in that video taught me new things and improved them and I've watched every video since. I've been following this Dr mix channel for years and years because claudios enthusiasm is pretty infectious. Thanks to both of you, as life has its ups and downs and stresses and it's great when a new video comes out that is an escape and I also learn something about these electronic instruments that I love so much, since I first heard Tom sawyer or jump when I was young, or later in my teens when I got obsessed with Depeche mode and nine inch nails and started my own band.

I would love a special episode just about the vintage fx used on thrillers synths. Knowing that quite a lot was done with the stuff at Westlake by Bruce, it would be anyway very interesting to see, if some of those wide and lush CS80 sounds could be recreated in the way they had been mixed actually. Knowing that it could become very difficult to find working units of those very first Eventide delays… But since Bruce has passed sadly, Anthony is the next close person to ask about this, I think.

The Mooger Fooger “ Modules” are fantastic to have…and fun. Being able to over drive the signal is a great plus.m aThe MF103( phaser) goes from light to stun to kill( says so on the lfo amount), knob🙂) has an aux out that act as stereo. Fantastic sounding phaser. The MF 108 Cluster Flux Chorus/ Flanger opens up many options. Also cool it has a stereo out. Use voltage control patch points between other Mooger Foogers or cv in and out on synths and you have hours of exploration, But Anthony already knows this 🙂🙂🙂 fun hearing him talk about it and watching Dr. Mix.

Hiya Doctor! I was truly inspired by this video, I had to stop it a couple of times while I went to my synths to play! I wanted to mention something that you might want to cover, something I might actually cover - and that is running external synths through the external input on the Fantom 6/7/8. When you guys were playing with the rack of old Roland effects, I started thinking and wondered what I could come up with if I took my Moog Mother 32 into the Fantom and used the MFX section for audio in - and low and behold, there is a Roland SBF-325 Phaser effect on the Fantom! I started playing more and found there's a huge amount of combinations of FX you can do with an external instrument going into the Fantom - basically using the Fantom as a multi-FX unit for another keyboard! My Moog M32 is also part of the Moog Sound Studio, with DFAM and Subharmonicon. I ran them all into a Strymon Big Sky pedal, and then into the Fantom. Amazing. Breathtaking. The amount of control on the Fantom FX sections is so precise and so great, it leads to amazing creative possibilities.
I just wanted to share, since what you and Anthony were doing was really cool with the FX rack and later with the Moogerfooger pedals. And I know you love the Fantom too - so you have to try this. Sooo much fun and great sound. And, best part is that you can save the FX you've built on the Fantom and pull them up and use them with any external synth! And to think, it was you and Anthony that brought this about... 💙🎹
