- 2.6liter Volvo b230 Verdi rods, Omega pistons, Agap camshaft, custom dcoe fajs itb's, Overboostracing heavy modified 531 cylinderhead with 293cfm intake and 189cfm exhaust. Exhaust header built by Thomas Nilsson, Maxxecu Street. Tuned by Overboostracing with din 70020 correction, calibrated dyno - no bullshit.
300hp 8v NA redblock. Fantastic! Looking forward to what it gets put into.
Some people just have a gift man. this is amazing to see. As much as I love a Turbo engine, the naturally aspirated sound just gets me everytime!
Its not always about the power. Its also how the engine feels when you drive it around and sounds.
Balance, the way it rev's up etc.
ha! i visited you once in your workshop in arvika maybe 10 years ago.. back then i was like.. man.. this guy is insane! you are still! keep it up! :)
Great Work!!!
Absolutely love this!
bra jobbat pågar
So awesome!
Very impressive! Are you using Alpha-N tuning or did you use a map sensor? Also is there any need for an idle air valve with the Fajs itbs?
Nice power 👍What kind of camshaft do you use?
Please do a n/a 5 cyl build
what an engine
B230

PLEASE give us a video showing how you port and work 530 and/redblock heads!! Or have you already?
Awesome job, very cool! It looks like it can make even more power as the HP was still climbing when you stopped the dyno run? 😎
After this was filmed the engine put 317hp on the crank at the best. It is in working order still and sitting in a original volvo 240. Turn it down slightly to match with traffic situations (it is a grumpy one). Making 282whp at our new hubdyno
@@Overboostracing That's awesome! Great to hear. I'm curious, with such a large difference in the intake port flow and exhaust port flow, is the exhaust lobe quite a bit larger to help, or are the lobes pretty even?
What sort of cam does it take to get there? Fancy port work?
Wow😛 this is nice engine i want My Volvo 740 this engine
hade den inte gett ännu mer med trattar på ?
531 head flows mad cfm!! Nice na power reliable ponies
this thing is far from reliable lol. dirtbikes are NA and they arent reliable either. nothing high powered is ever reliable
@@MV-ri7zu 😂 lol
Thats incredible that would be nice in my mk 2 ford escort.
0:28 caveman make good power. Oohh
Yes. This is i want.. NA b230 300hp.. Can you share this setup?
I am from Indonesia(South east Asia)
Very nice. Can you give this engine spec, what is inside of this beast?
Check the description ;)
What fuel is it running on?
OMG Amazing 👍
My 2006 xc90 2.5 Turbo 5 Cylinder only makes 208 HP if I'm Lucky at the Crank 😂😔
Without Turbo?!?!???? 😳
What fuel you use?
If only my aq151c would rev that high... maybe I need a smaller prop! 😂😂
Are they common in usa? Really sant one
How is this possible?! What was done to the motor to make it so strong?!
Its a redblock, probably nothing. :D
у меня такой же
OOH
0:35 Why does it say Rpm/Second?
"calibrated dyno - no bullshit" 😂
Shame on volvo for giving up the b30.
jag vill har
What’s the secret! I want to build one of these and keep in NA!
Stroker crank (2.5litre 86mm stroke) ported head, bigger valves, high duration cam, ITB(4 individual throttle body’s)
Why not use a 16v head as a starting point?
Because that's to easy :)
@@Overboostracing cool, just curious. 16v heads are getting hard to find and spendy in the US of A.
@@Overboostracing please put this in a Rally car!
@@blackedelweiss601 16v are, I got lucky and bought a 1989 dark gray wagon 745 GLE 16v
@@Turbo8285 I have one too, not sure what I want to do with it yet
haha helvete :D
What is the compression ratio?
on this engine it was 15,5:1 i have made a new engine with this head on, more info to come.
That’s amazing! What kind of fuel and are you willing to give any info on the cam specs for fun? I won’t be making anything this crazy, ever... but I can drool and enjoy your experience for doing it!
@@Overboostracing valves?
@@Overboostracing Not even knocking? Ur on Ethanol?
thats 600hp at just 1 bar of boost, think about it!!!
Not how that works, will knock like a mofo with the added boost.
@@TTURBOVOLVO With e85 there will be no knock, of course cr must be lowered to 9:1, but that will not drop the na hp numbers very much, maybe 5-10%
@@jussialanko6597 it will drop the hp quite a bit considering that its running 15.5 : 1 in the video...
How did they get 2.6 liters out of that block? Has it been bored and stroked or a typo?
@huuugo Very impressive! Had a 240, 740, and 940 turbo with the red block engine. Loved that '93 940 turbo sedan........
for people that don't know.
It's not a typo, these engine are very under square with a bore of 96mm and a stroke of 80mm.
you cant put a 92mm crank fairly easily in these and have about 2.6-2.7L~ depending if you go up a size in pistons.
Skräp
Pretty cool but you can make 300whp easy with a turbo setup with a lot less stress on the engine and with very little money so i`m not sure why you would bother.
I'm doing it because it had to be done :)
Because you don't need a turbo. Some people just don't get it
Now that he has the engine flowing this good, with a cam change to one designed for a turbo, some bigger injectors and a big turbo, and the engine should do double that.
Yes it did! Thank you for your time, money and effort. Whats it going in?
@@notsofresh8563 and lover compression to allow boost without knock, but personally i like NA engines bether, but jes i like to belive the ultimate turbo build should start as a NA base as flow is key and this air pump of a redblock sure got it
