Hi All, Thanks for watching us two again.. just to clarify BP1 meant "Production" and not "Auto-tune" to save some comments and people getting mad at us, we don't know all the technical terms and that's what popped into his head at the time... Hope you enjoy it and thank you all for watching!!! We appreciate each and everyone of you for taking the time to watch us two.
I have an idea next time you do a Pentatonix reaction, look for the one they do backstage for fans...I cannot remember the name of it but it will show how amazing they are without any production. Someone for sure will know what song I am talking about and add it the ever growing list. Oh and by the way no one is mad at BP1, cause its a Mad World!! Cheers Guys!!
It’s not autotune, I think the word you’re looking for is reverb. Which, yes, they do add reverb in some of their songs. But auto tune I think they’ve only ever used in the recent 90s dance medley for the Cher song.
Pentaholics are excitable ... but it's motivated by enthusiasm, not a desire to run your lives. Thanks for the reaction! I'd like to see you do "La La Latch" when you get a chance.
For a live performance with great harmonies you should check out Gold. Its breathtaking. And outside the "big ones" are some gems, like Havana, Cheerleader, Come Along, White Winter Hymnal, etc.
@@BritPopsReact As you listen to MORE PENTATONIX you'll see that THEY SOUND THIS AMAZING LIVE! Their number stats/awards/music industry acknowledgement ect. ALSO they are the ONLY ACAPELLA group to to be invited to MANY Award shows, talk shows, specials Presidential events, And their own televised Christmas specials! Because they can do this LIVE!!!!😀
If you want to see their performance live on a British show, they were on Sunday Brunch in 2015 and sang “Can’t Sleep Love” and “Cheerleader”. and they displayed their lack of cooking skills.
@@BritPopsReact When reactors watch the Daft Punk medley that they won their first Grammy and realize it was from 2014 and probably filmed in 2013, they sometimes go ‘where have I been’? But people find them at different times and in different ways. I had a colleague that always talked about their Christmas music and I used to think that was all they did.
@Dave C Thank you for the comment and that was it the "Donnie Darko" movie, BP1 got there in the end. It was also Gary's version used in the "Gears of War" video game that I was trying to think of. Thanks for watching.
@@BritPopsReact You said that you like to go your OWN WAY! but I would like to suggest this React to their OFFICIAL video of Hallelujah then react to their LIVE version from their Christmas Special a few years back. ANOTHER GREAT example is their OFFICIAL video for God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and their LIVE version from the Jimmy Kimmel show. There are PLENTY of examples but these 2 came to mind... You can do a double feature of studio/live...✌
@@Bonofox1 Great suggestions. May I add another good example. Check out their official version of Little Drummer Boy and then look at their live performance of the song on the Arsenio Hall show in 2013. I actually think the live version was better than the official version. It's one of my favorite Christmas songs from them.
What a GREAT way to start my day!! A cup of coffee and an amazing reaction to my favorite group by two of the coolest dudes on youtube!! You guys ROCK!!! Missed you guys!! Stay safe and healthy
Great reactions, but they NEVER use autotune (exception was 90s Dance Medley that paid homage to Cher). Check out their live performance of "Gold" (Kiara cover)
Happy to share any PTX releases with you, in whatever order. One of my favourites is their cover of Kiiara's "Gold." It's another PTX laid-back, one-take masterpiece. True vocal acrobatics.
@Kaye Castleman Thank you for the comment, we will go back and revisit PTX soon and more than likely look for something a little different again next time. We like to detour around a bit!!
@@BritPopsReact Gold is amazing, and will be a good “different” one to do. The official video is live. And if you’re not familiar with the song, you should listen to the chorus of the original first, to fully appreciate the craziness of how they were able to pull off the cover
Nothing wrong with a little Christmas in July. Try their O Come All Ye Faithful rendition. It’s a mood for sure. Not your granny’s Christmas music by a long shot❣️
Love your genuine and insightful reactions. Both of you have a true appreciation of good production, talent, and creativity. I enjoy watching your reactions. You have a large group of PTX'ers out there, so regardless of which song you select, you will receive on onslaught of comments. Pentatonix, truly are one of a kind.
Hallelujah has about 620 million plus views, Amazing Grace has Kirstine turned wide open, Sound of Silence will twist your head abound. Enjoyed your reaction. Have fun!
@mel P Thank you for the great comment and we know they are massive, we just like to take a few detours along the way, as we don't want to dive in at the deep end and miss all the others. Thanks for watching and the comment.
@A K Tears for Fears were my cup of tea back in the day and did some great songs. Great to hear you got to see them live. They are back making new music, although looking a lot older these days. Thanks for watching
They just sang "Seasons of Love" in the Public Broadcasting annual Fourth of July celebration television special, and it was super! It's a live recording, and it's even better than their original cover of this song, which was a studio produced cover of the song from the musical "Rent." Filmed on a roof top in LA with backing singers, it's really spectacular! (Also of note, their cover of this song appeared first on their 2020 Christmas album, an example of something they have done all along on their Christmas albums, bring in songs that can be interpreted as congruent with the season, even though not originally or usually considered Christmas-y.)
For the last time. NO AUTO TUNEl! This song has been expertly engineered. BUT they have to replicate this live. They won't sing a song they can't perform in public.
Mitch Grassi singing "look right through me", piercing the viewer with his eyes... Quite a haunting version of the song, a fitting arrangement (if I'm in a picky mood I don't care much about Kirstin Maldonado's "outbreak", but it's very short anyway). Matt Sallee and Grassi sound pretty good together. Overall, once again, a good song by Pentatonix.
@@BritPopsReact "Shout" by Tears for Fears is still a great song, imho. Have I talked about "controlled passion" or "controlled energy" before in my comments? I probably have, because it's something I enjoy. And that's what you get with this song. Great percussive elements (which came from a special synthesizer, iIrc), good tune. I should probably listen to their "Mad World" again, since I don't remember it as clearly. The Pentatonix version is based on a version used in a film, as far as I know.
@Ulrich von Bek For me BP2 Tears for Fears were a massive band in my musical journey at the time, I was still moving in and around the "New Romantics" scene with Spandau Ballet, Human League, Teardrop Explodes (Reward). where did that come from... "Shout" came along at the right time. Always worth going back to the original. It still sounds great.
@@BritPopsReact I was more of a "hard'n'heavy" guy back then. And I've always been looking for special stuff on the side. Nick Cave, for example. But I heard a lot of those bands on the radio and at the disco, of course. Looking back, a lot of it is very nostalgic, but there came a time where I realized some things were just fantastic in their own way. And of course, there were always friends who were fans of one act or the other. Do you remember Orchestral Manouvres In The Dark? I had a friend who listened to punk rock, but somehow became an OMD fan as well. So I heard a lot of their music. And that's something that gets stuck in one's head. :)) But I really liked "Shout" right when it came out.
It's great you did this one because you were familiar with it and the band was popular in the UK. I liked your reaction. Thank you for appreciating Matt's bass. Intimacy is a favorite theme in many of their videos.
For more harmonic songs I would recommend "Hallelujah", "Imagine", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight", "Amazing Grace", and a popular remix would be "Sound of Silence".
Yes you certainly do want to get around to bohemian rhapsody. You will absolutely love their cover of John Lennon's imagine. There's also sound of silence and to complete the trifecta, Of course Simon and Garfunkel being the original singers, is disturbed's version of sound of silence. With imagine you get to hear what is called the wall of sound for Pentatonix. As everybody has said it's always Christmas time for Pentatonix and once again to hear the "wall of sound" Produced by there harmonies you want to listen to Mary did you know. Most people start with hallelujah which really isn't a Christmas song but that's where you'll find it. It has a about 650,000,000 views now. Then watch the live version from a Christmas Special of Pentatonix and you'll see that they do not sound any different. They never do a song in studio that they cannot reproduce live. There's also a studio and then live version of sing (an original), seasons of love from rent And Aha. The official video was made early on in their career and then you want to listen to Aha Live at Singapore the star vista. There maybe others but those are the ones I know off the top of my head And somebody already mentioned daft punk. If you keep doing Pentatonix And family Reactions then Us Pentaholic's wil flock to your channel. We are a very passionate And loyal Group.
I love Pentatonix, I was first introduced to them through their acapella work with Dolly Parton covering her own track Jolene. It's magical. I think you may be right in regards to auto-tuning for the video production, it also sounds like they play multiple voice tracks overlapping to create a bigger sound, almost like a cathedral hall performance. I'm no expert in the studio at all but I'm developing an ear for it.
@Kurn Hurin We are on a little journey with Pentatonix and we have been asked to check out their big songs, but we like to do the unusual as you are discovering, we will get to them in time but we could not pass up this masterpiece.. Tears For Fears well, enough said.. Back with more from them soon.
Non seasonal Christmas songs that appear on PTX Christmas albums are: Hallelujah, Amazing Grace, Sweater Weather, God Only Knows. The last 2 have a seasonal setting but the song isn't really. And God Only Knows is a nod to Love Actually. The videos for last summer's Home EP are lovely and were all filmed individually at home. So was the vid for Be My Eyes.
Just so you don’t think you’re going mad, Mitch took his cover of Your Power off UA-cam and has replaced it with an original debut single under his solo persona title Messer. It’s a bit of a bop and called Machine. No video but definitely worth a listen. Love Mad World too so thank you for your reaction.
I like that: a cover of an acoustic version of the song... very true. PTX it’s all good. Glad you enjoy them as well. Superfruit is funny, silly not always musical, but when it is, it’s very entertaining and revealing of Scott and Mitch’s personalities. I hope you keep exploring their repertoire. I do enjoy your comments and observations. 🤗
Us the Duo in not related to Pentatonix other than they toured with them in 2016. Related acts are Superfruit as mentioned, Kirstin has her own solo stuff, as does Kevin as KO. Mitch has some solo stuff under Mitch Grassi and he also has recent stuff under Messer (Machine released last week, Angels Pray and a Jimmy Edgar song that he featured on called Ready2Die). Scott can be found will a lot of stuff on UA-cam - old solo stuff, with Rozzi, with Frankie
Never too early to start with PTX Christmas songs! There are many that are on the Christmas albums that are not completely Christmas songs, try the original Thank You, or the cover Favourite Things for starters..... Carol of the Bells is one of my favs and an early cover of theirs. Others that aren't often reacted to are Na Na Na (original, no music video), Praying (cover and beautiful), Valentine (cover, gorgeous), Love Again (original and a very bold song!)..... so many to choose from!
@Tania Reads Thank you for the comment, we are sure with all the solo and other bits and pieces they do, we can fill in until Christmas comes and then delve right into the PTX Santa sack of songs! Thanks for watching
@Carla Taylor Hello and thank you for the comment. No, we have not reached that one yet, we did do a reaction to "Coffee in Bed" which we really enjoyed, We will return to PTX soon.
Thank you for reacting. They only used auto tune in one song and that was for 90's in tribute to Cher as she was the first to use auto tune. If you ever hear them in concert or live they are so good they don't need auto tune. I would love for you to react to Gold, cover, Kiiara. Watch Kiiara first so you can fully appreciate PTX. It is a fantastic cover...Thanks!
Tears for Fears released _Mad World_ in 1982 -- same words but with a fast, poppy beat and Caribbean flair. The movie _Donnie Darko_ (2001) used it as a theme song, but completely redid the melody. Michael Andrews and Gary Jules are credited with the update to a slow and haunting song. Gary Jules sang it, and a lot of folks don't even realize that this was not the original. Most covers from that point, including Pentatonix', are of the Andrews/Jules version.
@r0kus Thank you for that great information and explanation. You should also include that the Gary Jules version is used in the "Gears of War" video games!! Thanks for watching
I would never be able to score this PTX cover any less than a perfect 10. I do love your reactions and I give this one a 9.5. (I think the artist you were trying to think of was Adam Lambert, who did a phenomenal cover of this for American Idol.)
Another amazing ptx reaction. What I like about you guys the most is that I generally like all your reactions. Keep it up boys. If you want to hear them cover something that is all music, do Dance of the Sugar Plum Ferries. They won a grammy for it too.
@Salvador Fernandez Thank you for the very kind comment, it really means a lot. Back with more soon, hope you enjoy some of the other reactions we have coming out too.
I enjoy your reactions very much! Along with the million suggestions I'm sure you've already had, try their original Run to you, it's great and again all harmonies!!
I think if you did watch bohemian Rhapsody, off camera, so you can see why we all want you to watch. Then you can say ‘we have watched’ I would love you to look at another live video, one that really showcases their amazing voices ‘hallelujah’ would be great for you to review live. Thank you so much for sharing the Mad World video, definitely worth that 9:8 xxx
@Elaine Howard Hello and thank you for watching us again!! Ohh we won't spoil your guys fun and we will get to it but as you yourself know, we go all over the place and we only have limited time and we do like to check out songs from artists and not always go straight into the bigger ones. Back with more soon.
If you want something different - try some of their originals. Their most recent "album" is all original, but they have some here and there throughout their career. Happy Now (Scott has lead vocal), or Be My Eyes (Kirsten has lead vocal)
Thank you for your reactions. PTX s covers of Bohemian Rhapsody and Imagine and Can you feel the love tonight are simply amazing They do Freddy, John Lennon and Elton John proud
They're 5 part harmony (no beat box) is incredible and just as good live....see My Heart (video) then one of their concerts where they sing it live standing around one mic totally stripped down. Audience has to be very quiet - you can hear a pin drop - the harmonies are that good. Kirsten, Mitch and Scott have been harmonizing together since high school. So instinctively in sync with each other.
Thanks very much for your reaction! Another great cover of this type is "Dreams" by The Cranberries; no beat boxing, just 5 part harmonies and a lovely display of amazing talent. A more upbeat and just fun song is their original tune "Sing" from their first album.
The christmas music seems more likely to get blocked during christmas season. But if it feels wrong to you, don’t do it! It’s your channel! Great reactions!
Okay, after hearing all your comments about 'autotune' and the like, (I know you meant 'sound production,' and yes, they do use a little to balance the levels between them, but nothing to actually alter the sounds they make - Mitch can certainly do reverb on his voice naturally,) you REALLY need to listen to some of their live performances, if only to dispel that idea (the only song they've ever used autotune on was their recent dance medley, in homage to Cher and the other artists who used autotune on their originals.) There are live versions of 'Hallelujah,' their recent original 'Coffee in Bed,' 'Aha!' at the Singapore Vista (filmed by a fan at one of their live concerts - it's a phone cam that focuses a lot on Mitch, but it's good quality.) There's also a live version of their Daft Punk melody, and several of their 'Evolution of...' videos, where it's literally just the five of them from the Avi Days siting in front of a camera and doing a one-take performance (I can recommend 'Evolution of Music,' 'Evolution of Rihanna,' 'Evolution of Michael Jackson' to get you started...)
I hear you about not really feeling xmas music in summer. However, PTX has a way of turning most xmas music into a fun ride, pop-y or not. As a person who is generally NOT a xmas music fan, I rarely skip their xmas songs any time of the year. They do have quite a few bit more religious than just xmas, but people will relate to xmas
What's up BP1 and BP2! I hope you both are doing well! Guys they don't use auto tune from what I understand (only once for the first song that used auto tune for Cher in the 90's Medley as homage). If they cannot do it LIVE they don't record it. This cover is more haunting then the Gary Jules version. Love it, Love it, Love it!! You need to do Bohemian Rhapsody, even in private to see Mitch do Brian May's guitar solo---it will blow you away! Had the windows in my car down yesterday and put The Music in the CD player and cranked it up---The People and Take the Long Road and Walk it---great driving music. Have a great week...and I will be catching up on your reactions that you put up over the weekend!! Cheers from very hot America!
@Michael Whelan Just hangin man!! Hope your doing well and all is good. We have been busy, broadening our little minds but having fun too. We will get to the big bangers soon, we just like to have a little poke around and see what else the artists have done. We have some interesting stuff coming out and have fun catching up.!! Cheers for now!!
If you want an earlier Pentatonix with Avi, may I respectfully suggest that you investigate their rendition of the Carol of the Bells? Yes, it's out of holiday season, and no, it's not one of their best, but what I absolutely adore about it as someone who has studied music theory is that the piece utilizes historical rules of Four Voice Counterpoint. The intro is Counterpoint, the melody switches to Melody & Harmony in the modern arrangement style, and then the piece ends with a full-blown example of the SATB Counterpoint. It's one of the few modern arrangements of anything where the musicians use Counterpoint, because it tends to feel very old fashioned now, but back in the days when Mozart and Beethoven were composing, if you didn't write intricate Counterpoint, no one took you seriously as a composer. (They even threw in the old Church superstition that it is offensive to God to end a piece in a minor key, and at the end resolve major.) Again, not incredibly popular today, but it's an excellent demonstration of their mastery of historical forms, the same way that Picasso's early works were photo-realistic, buying him the credibility to go off and 'regress' into cubist forms. Carol of the Bells.
@Adam Pacio Hello and thank you for such an in-depth comment. To be honest, I did not understand all of what you wrote but I suspect that if we listen to the song you recommend we will have a better idea. OK, we will add that to the list of songs to react to for Pentatonix. Thanks for watching
@@BritPopsReact LOL. Sorry. Nerded out there for a bit. Simplest way? Modern music uses one Melody over top of three or more voices singing chords that support that melodic line as the harmony. Think of any pop song. The chorus sings the harmony, the lead singer sings the melody. Back in Mozart's day, musicians used a different way of writing music. Each vocal range in the chorus (sopranos, altos, tenors, basses -SATB) had their own melody. They were separate melodies in themselves. And when you put them all together, those separate melodies had to fit together so they hit the chords and made harmonies to each other, while all four were being solos. That's called "Counterpoint". Modern stuff is like a single strand of rope. Counterpoint is a rope made entirely of individual complex braids. It's an old fashioned style now, because we associate the very sound of it with Classical music from Mozart's time, but when modern groups (like PTX) do it, it can be impressive AF because it's like musical sudoku. Anyway, take a gander at their Carol of the Bells. The very end part is pure Counterpoint. When they sing the carol part it's modern Melody/Harmony. You'll hear the difference!
Greetings from Canada. I came for Angelina Jordan and stayed for Pentatonix. I first discovered them on NBC's "The Sing" years ago. (which they won) I couldn't believe what I was hearing live. I still have trouble wrapping my head around it sometimes. The thing is, of all the songs they've done, there is still nothing that blows me away as much as their version of Hallelujah. AND.... before you say it..... It Is Not A Christmas Song! It's a spiritual that just happens to be included on their Christmas album. Consider yourselves spanked! LOL
@whata nitemare Thank you for all your comment and having a look around at our other reactions, we appreciate it. We will get to "Hallelujah" soon, we just like to take our time and have a few detours along the way. We would like to look at some of the early songs and how they started, we will try and get to some videos from "The Sing" it would be nice to understand how they started and their progress. Thank you for watching and hope you come back soon. We have been "spanked"!!
Yeah. Save the Christmas stuff until the holidays. The Pentaholics can wait. The only one you might consider is Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. They got I think their second Grammy for that. But that is considered such a Christmas thing now. It can all wait. Do they synth or not? I have never seen a get-together or back stage of Mad World. That is the only way to tell when they are off mic. Watching the back stage of Love Again & others, you tend to think they can do it all off mic too. I heard them do the glitch effects from Daft Punk off mic. I always thought that was post production. So it is really hard to tell sometimes unless it is really obvious. Love your Leo Moracchioli & The Warning reactions also. So get to what you want to do when you can.
@Keith Jarvis Thank you very much for the nice comment and having something to look forward to for Christmas will be nice too, why jump in to it all at once, let's savour it all!! Thank you for watching our other reactions too, it's nice to find people enjoy our other content. Catch up soon!!
Nah! 9.8/10 or even 9.9. Loved the reaction guys! Feel free to replay bits you really enjoy and talk about them. Nice to relive the moments with you. Really enjoy the comments you make although I did wince when Brit 1 mentioned “autotune” 😲. Had to laugh and thought, he’s dicing with death there, but keeping it real! 😂. Next PTX should be a proper live concert versions that others have mentioned, for example Imogen Heap cover Aha! Live at the Star Vista or Haleujah, Christmas special.
@Faith Reasons 😂 Thank you for the lovely comment. Oh yes BP1 was flirting with disaster there, I think he does it to check if anyone is actually listening to us 😂 Have a lovely day!!
Here in the US, the stores do Christmas in July, so you could get away with it. Just another gimmick to sell more 😂😂. I love Tears for Fears as well, they were my soundtrack for road trips.
@Donna Rothleitner Brilliant comment and yes, Christmas does seem to come earlier each year in the shops. TFF road trip soundtrack, great choice. Thanks for watching and hope you come back soon.
OMG, do Bohemian Rhapsody whether or not you've done a version by another group. Even members of Queen praised them for what they did. It will blow your mind.
A couple of the places you think is autotuned is actually two people starting off one the same note and at the end one goes off note by a 3rd and one goes off by a 5th. So it sounds like production. When it is just amazing talent. And for the point of doing a review of same song by other artist and then PTX version show cases the different interpretations. Like Sound of Silence as done by Disturbed and PTX they are both amazing but one does not detract from the other.
@J.R. Turner Hello to you and thank you for the great comment and all the information. You are obviously better placed to comment on the production than us two but really appreciate you taking the time to explain the process. Oh, we will do the reviews of the same songs, we just manage to get together twice a week and record our reactions for the next week and posted them out one or two a day, so to listen to a few versions of the same song as the time of recording would maybe be a bit too much, but we will go back again and do the same song by another artist later, just to make it sounds fresh in our heads again, if that makes sense. Thanks for watching and we hade done quite a few videos to PTX and collaborations and solo works too.
You want to hear mostly pure singing try Amazing Grace....but for sure...you have to do Bohemian Rhapsody some day...lol. Great reaction and stay safe.
Nope, not autotune on this one. No doublers, very little pitch or time correction. There is EQ, reverb, and some other niceties added. But their production is pretty clean. They've spent 10 years proving they don't need autotune to sing on pitch. They DID use autotune on a recent medley, but that was an homage to Cher, who pioneered using autotune in pop music.
Don't think it is real? They did Daft Punk in a room with no microphones! You should check that out if you have time. Also lots of concerts where the beatbox takes advantage of volume add.
Postmodern Jukebox has a nice cover of of Mad World as well. No autotune or digital filtering. Well worth a listen even if you don't do a reaction. I'm not particularly turned off by the autotune in this. It's at least tastefully done, although I do have to say there's a lot on this one. I'm partial to without autotune, but there are plenty of examples of artful use of digital filtering. I tend to get annoyed when they feel they have to slap on an autotune treatment regardless.
I agree you should react to a lot of different songs and keep it varied as much as everyone would like the bigger songs reacted too the smaller ones are just as good and you get a better feel for them. Just keep on going on doing what you do ill be waiting for more reaction vids.
Oh Come all ye Faithful...best Christmas song ever by PTX lol. Their new original album is AMAZING, Try "Happy Now" loved the reaction guys!! All of their are great to hear!! Love it. However...Bohemian Rhapsody is INSANE lol.
Excellent choice guys! I think you should try Home Free and their cover of Cam's May Day. You could certainly redeem yourselves with this one, guaranteed you'll love it!
@ Brew Swillis: 😂😂😂. Their first Home Free reaction was brutally honest and hilarious! Brit 1, bacon sarnie, cup of tea and speaking his mind. So British! 😂. Best reaction ever. Still laugh every time I think about it. 😂😂😂
@@BritPopsReact So you screwed the pooch on the last one, so what. Everybody likes a good comeback story. Faith and I will be the first to build you up in the comments.
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. An instrumental done with no instruments and won them a Grammy. It's very good!
Yessss please do this
One of my absolute favourites
It’s very very unique and great
I really hope you continue with pentatonix and this one is a must see for sure !
It’s not autotune, I think the word you’re looking for is reverb. Which, yes, they do add reverb in some of their songs. But auto tune I think they’ve only ever used in the recent 90s dance medley for the Cher song.
Thank you! They need to hear this and internalize it.
No auto tune. When Matt sings lead, Scott sings bass. They all have incredible vocal ranges so they can interchange fluidly,
Don't forget Kirstie has done some solos that made top 10 pop charts.

Love Again is a Pentatonix original written by Avi, the bass and Kevin, the beatboxer. It really showcases them.
If you want to see their performance live on a British show, they were on Sunday Brunch in 2015 and sang “Can’t Sleep Love” and “Cheerleader”. and they displayed their lack of cooking skills.

There was no autotune here. Production does not mean autotune
Stark, lush, haunting, luminous.
Tears for Fears "introduced" the song to the world but this is a cover of the Gary Jules version in 2001 used in the Donnie Darko film.
@Dave C
Thank you for the comment and that was it the "Donnie Darko" movie, BP1 got there in the end.
It was also Gary's version used in the "Gears of War" video game that I was trying to think of.

Hallelujah next and bohemian Rhapsody u won’t be disappointed 🔥🔥
What a GREAT way to start my day!! A cup of coffee and an amazing reaction to my favorite group by two of the coolest dudes on youtube!! You guys ROCK!!! Missed you guys!! Stay safe and healthy
@tali geoghan
What a lovely comment, how very kind and thank you for taking the time to watch and post the comment.
It means a lot.
Take care & Cheers
I think you would like their cover of "IMAGINE" by John Lennon.
I actually prefer this to Bohemian Rhapsody. Their big ones are good, but this one and others like it are just beautiful.
Great reactions, but they NEVER use autotune (exception was 90s Dance Medley that paid homage to Cher). Check out their live performance of "Gold" (Kiara cover)
If you want just vocals try Run to You (orginal) or cover of Can't Help Falling in Love
Happy to share any PTX releases with you, in whatever order. One of my favourites is their cover of Kiiara's "Gold." It's another PTX laid-back, one-take masterpiece. True vocal acrobatics.
@Kaye Castleman
Thank you for the comment, we will go back and revisit PTX soon and more than likely look for something a little different again next time.
@Chris Pavlich
The Christmas songs usually start in the shops around August anyway!
Thanks for the comment
That is my fav Christmas song of theirs!!! so yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@BritPopsReact it’s winter down my way, bring on the Christmas.
Hey guys, thanks for reacting to this, one of my favs.
@larry granbois
You are very welcome, we enjoyed it too
Thanks for watching.
Hallelujah has about 620 million plus views, Amazing Grace has Kirstine turned wide open, Sound of Silence will twist your head abound. Enjoyed your reaction. Have fun!
@mel P
Thank you for the great comment and we know they are massive, we just like to take a few detours along the way, as we don't want to dive in at the deep end and miss all the others.
Thanks for watching and the comment.
Two of my favorite groups - Tears for Fears and Pentatonix rolled into one video. My first concert was Tears For Fears in Dallas back in the day....
@A K
Tears for Fears were my cup of tea back in the day and did some great songs.
@Susan Sisson
Thank you for the comment and the information.
We will try and do more from PTX soon.
They do it just like this live!
I absolutely LOVE this one. The harmonies are unbelievable! ❤❤❤
And the timing and voice control going in and out of the chords... amazing! 🌟
@Anne Hummel
We agree with you totally and we do like Tears for Fears, so to hear it done this way was also great for us too.
Thank you for watching.
For the last time. NO AUTO TUNEl! This song has been expertly engineered. BUT they have to replicate this live. They won't sing a song they can't perform in public.
Oh my. Please read their intro. Shouting really is unnecessary.
Shouting was absolutely necessary.
AMEN
Mitch Grassi singing "look right through me", piercing the viewer with his eyes... Quite a haunting version of the song, a fitting arrangement (if I'm in a picky mood I don't care much about Kirstin Maldonado's "outbreak", but it's very short anyway). Matt Sallee and Grassi sound pretty good together. Overall, once again, a good song by Pentatonix.
@Ulrich von Bek
Nice comment and a nice version of the song.
This time it was "Tears for Fears" unlike "JINJER"
Thanks for the support as always
@@BritPopsReact "Shout" by Tears for Fears is still a great song, imho. Have I talked about "controlled passion" or "controlled energy" before in my comments? I probably have, because it's something I enjoy. And that's what you get with this song. Great percussive elements (which came from a special synthesizer, iIrc), good tune. I should probably listen to their "Mad World" again, since I don't remember it as clearly. The Pentatonix version is based on a version used in a film, as far as I know.
@Ulrich von Bek
For me BP2 Tears for Fears were a massive band in my musical journey at the time, I was still moving in and around the "New Romantics" scene with Spandau Ballet, Human League, Teardrop Explodes (Reward). where did that come from...
You need to review some of their live stuff. They will blow you minds!
You really must listen to one of the many live performances to see them without any studio effects. You may be surprised.
Listen to them live. no auto tune unless it is obvious...90s dance medley
@Kurn Hurin
We are on a little journey with Pentatonix and we have been asked to check out their big songs, but we like to do the unusual as you are discovering, we will get to them in time but we could not pass up this masterpiece..
@MioneBristow
Hello and thank you for popping in.
That is a great comment and thank you for posting it.
We will be doing more from Pantatonix soon.
Oh no! It was such a great cover from him - I hope he reloads it later on...
@@taniareads8751 It's still on Mitch's IG page under the IGTV tab
@@shirl767 Thank you :-)
I like that: a cover of an acoustic version of the song... very true. PTX it’s all good. Glad you enjoy them as well. Superfruit is funny, silly not always musical, but when it is, it’s very entertaining and revealing of Scott and Mitch’s personalities. I hope you keep exploring their repertoire. I do enjoy your comments and observations. 🤗
@elaine courteau
Thank you for the lovely comment, we appreciate it.
@Jo Atkins
Thanks you for the comment and for the correction.
We will try and do some of the other projects too when we find time.
Thanks for watching
PTX doesn't use auto tune except in maybe 2 songs, and there was a specific reason to do so.
Hallelujah is their most viewed cover with 600+ million views and the best by far
@Tania Reads
Thank you for the comment, we are sure with all the solo and other bits and pieces they do, we can fill in until Christmas comes and then delve right into the PTX Santa sack of songs!
Thanks for watching
In a previous reaction you said you'd like to see them in a studio setting. Have you watched "Gold" by Kiiara? It's beautiful.
@Carla Taylor
Hello and thank you for the comment.
No, we have not reached that one yet, we did do a reaction to "Coffee in Bed" which we really enjoyed,
We will return to PTX soon.
Always the sceptic.
@Gordon Terry
I believe he just used the wrong technical term, there was some studio production on it.
Thanks for watching
PTX, are renown for taking songs and making them Christmas ee😎
Tears for Fears released _Mad World_ in 1982 -- same words but with a fast, poppy beat and Caribbean flair. The movie _Donnie Darko_ (2001) used it as a theme song, but completely redid the melody. Michael Andrews and Gary Jules are credited with the update to a slow and haunting song. Gary Jules sang it, and a lot of folks don't even realize that this was not the original. Most covers from that point, including Pentatonix', are of the Andrews/Jules version.
@r0kus
Thank you for that great information and explanation.
@Salvador Fernandez

Hello and thank you for the comment,
We will get to those bigger songs soon.
Thank you for watching.
I suggest you check out their original song "Sing" it is a ton of fun. And you were thinking Gary Jules in 2001 for Mad World
@dreadpiratexx
Hello and thank you for the comment.
@fowlerdp06
Thank you for the comment and the suggestions.
Also, thank you for watching.
The christmas music seems more likely to get blocked during christmas season. But if it feels wrong to you, don’t do it! It’s your channel! Great reactions!
I generally don’t listen to Christmas music unless it’s the holidays. That said, Pentatonix Christmas is great any time of year!
Good video reaction. Maybe review some live versions.
@Roger Koch
Thanks we will get onto those soon.
Thanks for watching

Just hangin man!!
(They even threw in the old Church superstition that it is offensive to God to end a piece in a minor key, and at the end resolve major.)
Again, not incredibly popular today, but it's an excellent demonstration of their mastery of historical forms, the same way that Picasso's early works were photo-realistic, buying him the credibility to go off and 'regress' into cubist forms. Carol of the Bells.
@Adam Pacio
Hello and thank you for such an in-depth comment.
LOL
@whata nitemare
Thank you for all your comment and having a look around at our other reactions, we appreciate it.
@Keith Jarvis

Gary Jules version was a big hit, it was covered specifically to appear in the film Donnie Darko which turned into a cult classic.

OMG, do Bohemian Rhapsody whether or not you've done a version by another group. Even members of Queen praised them for what they did. It will blow your mind.
If you want more pure 5 part harmony without the beatboxing, then try one of their beautiful originals called Run to You!
@Keddie Wye
Thank you for the comment, we think we will look at that one soon.
They will be in Manchester 2022
A couple of the places you think is autotuned is actually two people starting off one the same note and at the end one goes off note by a 3rd and one goes off by a 5th. So it sounds like production. When it is just amazing talent. And for the point of doing a review of same song by other artist and then PTX version show cases the different interpretations. Like Sound of Silence as done by Disturbed and PTX they are both amazing but one does not detract from the other.
@J.R. Turner
Hello to you and thank you for the great comment and all the information.
This was similar to Gary Jules' cover for the film Danny Darko.
No auto tune. Just them.
There’s no autotune in this one - it’s added reverb
I agree you should react to a lot of different songs and keep it varied as much as everyone would like the bigger songs reacted too the smaller ones are just as good and you get a better feel for them. Just keep on going on doing what you do ill be waiting for more reaction vids.
