  • Just examining the contents of a Teifoc pack of building bricks. No building.
    Crackle, crackle, crackle. Plink, plink, plink. And birds. Enjoy!

    This video brings back distinct memories from like 10 years ago. I remember watching my cousin build using Lincoln Logs and I remember this tingling feeling I got, it was weird but very pleasurable.

    I think this one may be my favorite, though it's difficult to choose. Sorry they weren't as cool as you'd hoped. I have a request, if you'd be so kind as to consider it- I love the sound of spray bottles and cleaing cloths- the cleaning lady at work always gives me a fit of delights. I'm not sure what you could come up with from that, but it's a lovely soft sound- like in the "virtual haircut" soundscape at the end... maybe cleaning glass picture frames or something?? Thanks for considering!

    Been a while since this was uploaded, but pretty great video. I usually go to RP for ASMR but I find that people fiddling with stuff, assembling stuff, just performing dexterous motions, to be a pretty effective ASMR trigger. I was really hoping to see actual assembly though! I'd never heard of Teifoc before.

    The actual acronym stands for 'Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response', which in human speak is a relaxing reaction to certain things. There are two main categories of this, one category (I can't remember the names off the top of my head) has asmr reactions from thought processes (most likely not you, as you like these videos) or those who get reactions from certain sounds (the UA-cam asmr community). There are more categories to what sounds set people off, like whispering, rustling, tapping, etc

    I discovered I could control my ASMR at a very young age, about age 5-6. All it took was for me to hear a certain sound, or think about it or visualize the sound to the point I can faintly hear it if I wanted to trigger the tingly feeling. Sometimes if I zoned out even further, I would have a vibrating feeling that would seem shake everything, as a kid I loved triggering these responses. Now it is much harder due to stress to trigger them, but if I really focus and clear my mind it does occasionally work. I have autism, so the zoning out was a very good reason I could mediate so easy since zoning out was practically my thing, when there was nothing to focus on. I didn't know what yoga was, but apparently I found out that I was reaching one of the highest stages of meditation. The thing is I am Jewish and I believe in god, and I don't exactly know if meditating is allowed or not.

    • @SOUNDsculptures
      @SOUNDsculptures  9 років тому +1

      Hi Arthur, thank you for sharing your interesting story. I have heard before of people saying that they can experience ASMR just from triggering it through thought alone. I've never been able to do that, but if I just think of someone running their fingers down a blackboard, I instantly have chills all over me. It's a shame that they're not a good sensation though! I'm completely uneducated about whether meditation and Judaism can co-exist happily, but I do know that meditation does not always have to be based on trying to reach a spiritual enlightenment. I think it can be viewed as simple mind calming and inner 'decluttering'. Thanks again for your comment. Helen

    • @abilevitt3334
      @abilevitt3334 8 років тому

      Arthur, as far as I understand, from a Jewish point of view, there's no problem with meditation unless you're saying mantras that may have originally been part of idol worship.

  • @slimjimmy149
    @slimjimmy149 13 років тому

    @killamonkey Yea, when it's obvious that someone is trying to trigger it, the effect is removed. A key component to ASMR is not only the purity of the sound, but the spontaneity of it as well.

    @FogellofDot I think you only consider it recent because people who have experienced this phenomenon have either never known it exists with other people or didn't know it was called ASMR and had a whole youtube community. I, for one, just found out about it over the summer, and now I'm subscribed to a handful of ASMR channels. I think it's great people are spreading the word! These sounds put me in a zen-like mood, and why not have others experience it?

    This is a weird video. Found this just looking at reviews while I shop for new headphones. I found this strangely ... something. Iunno, I watched the whole thing kinda by accident. It also cleared up the background noise that I hear most of the time, must be cause everything is high spectrum.
    Weird. But cool.
