We’d like to blame others for our shortcomings, but they’re just spectators watching our demise.

It never really changes other than the population keeps growing. Numbers increase the pressure in the cooker.

Having been to Hawaii the Aloha/love and happiness has been kicked out for along time now. They want your money but they don't want you there. Native Hawiians still consider their island only for those with Hawaii blood unless you visit it and then they want you to pay up and leave. I hear New Orleans is the same but New Orleans is the only ones I have seen with a similar mindset. Granted I just think most of the mainland just hides it more.

I suggest the experience for travelers is not the same as for those of us that live here. I live here and I feel the spirit of aloha is still alive on the Big Island. So I do not agree. The got the guy with the bombs on Maui. Little else is public other than he left finger prints on tape.

What’s your opinion of Hawaiian paradise park subdivision? Thanks Bill

As far as I know the FBI isn't investigating any bomb makers there. Most of what goes on is domestic disputes drunken violence and the usual cockroaches stealing stuff. The subdivision is unusual because the deeper you go into it the higher the price and the better the homes. It ends at the ocean so that is why the deep property is higher and the area generally better. It is also pretty good near hwy. 130. Living closer to the road is better if you have to shop. It is a long way out from the shoreline. The middle of the subdivision is the worst part. Use your eyes and ears, put boots on the ground before you buy. Shop from Google earth. You can tell the lousy areas from above. No solar, rusty roofs, junk cars and old washing machines.

Bill, I saw that last night. My first thought was that it’s someone who’s Hawaiian, who’s just had enough. It seems like it’s no coincidence that it was on Maui, where many have lost so much after the devastating fire last year. It’s probably overdue on Oahu too. I don’t have boots on the ground like you do, but I hear that a lot of Hawaiians have their backs against the wall, due to low wages and high cost of living and housing, pushing many of them out of their homeland. Mainland haloes, as they call them, have taken over by buying up property, driving up the prices. On top of that you have the fact that their homeland was confiscated by the U.S. Many don’t consider themselves to be Americans, they consider themselves to be Hawaiian above all. I also see more British flags flying than American. My guess is that this is someone who is Hawaiian, who has just had it.

Perhaps we will know in time. It has become an FBI investigation.

@@GreenGardenGuy1 Its’s unfortunate. If the feds were smart they’d do away with that ridiculous Jones Act, and invest a little money into the islands. Like most things it’s corrupted though, to the detriment of everyone living in the islands. 🤙🏽

I've spent enough time on this planet being "bad". Through that experience I learned the value of being "good". As so many Americans turn to religion, far right agendas and darkness I realize I have no other choice but to express positive idea and values. As a last resort I am also a really good shot but only when everyone stops talking.

@@mountain-man0 She believes she is going to heaven. I have good reason to believe that simple death is not the end of things but sitting on a cloud, listening to harps is downer. A biker bar with beer, blues and reefer would be more my idea of a good time.

Good ideas can take a long time to catch on if they ever do. Bad ideas tend to spread like spilled paint. We can blame social media and the fact that many of us have no personal character or identity. We seek to find ourselves in others. Usually the worst actors have the loudest voice, and greatest appeal to the weakest minds..
