The demo flights are the baddest! I used to just drop everything and watch the F-15's do them. Watching the vapor off the wings and the JP venting out the tips, you just know the G's they're pulling are something fierce.
Ex NAVAIR here...old story...P3 sub hunter on patrol, a F4 comes along side and puts on a small aerobatic show for the P3 crew. F4 pilot pulls back up next to the P3 and asks the pilot if he misses all the fun stuff doing aerobatics, etc.,. The P3 pilot says, "hold on a minute", about 4 minutes later P3 pilot is back on the air and the F4 pilot asks, "anything wrong"? P3 pilot says, "No, I went in the back and took a shit and then grabbed a sandwich", F4 pilot leaves.
You can see and hear him blow out (forcing breathe) during the manuvering. Keeps positive pressure in the chest cavity and blood supplied to the brain.
Ok let me clarify I have worked on jet aircraft since the age of 18 so I know about the g suits and how they work but still amazed at the abilities of military fighter pilots I can only think of a few things at a time not to mention oh yeah breath like this or pass out lol
@@goober698 it should also be clarified that some roller coasters pull 6-9g easily. The suits are there for 10g+ where the work happens. There is a reason you won’t hear of fast jet pilots struggling during 9g
What most people don't realise is, dealing with G's is a lot to do with anticipation, if you know what's coming you have the split second to brace and begin breathing procedures, if you don't you're always caught off guard so never get that opportunity, hence why these videos. There's no doubt a fully condition fast jet pilot can withstand much higher tolerances day to day, purely due to repetition, but the backseat cargo man nailed it, and I promise you if he was in control it would have had a much lesser effect on him than it did here.
It really is amazing how they can fly with those G’s and just carry on a normal conversation. Truly Americas BEST. Awesome guys. Thank you for your service

Outstanding video with two great friends!! Great stuff!! For the young: Arising out of the lessons learned in Vietnam (air superiority lost with F105s, F4s) , the late 1960s, early 1970s aircraft engineering competition produced a fly-off between two fighter prototypes, the General Dynamics YF16 (winner in 1975 the F-16 Falcon) and the Northrup YF17. While the Falcon has been upgraded over 5he years with technology insertion, you just watched amazing half- century old American aircraft engineering. The amazing Lockheed C130 Hercules turboprop first flew in 1955...... 67 years ago.
I would have had a heart attack during take off. The fact that anyone can withstand those G forces is amazing. Even more mind blowing is that somehow a human being is capable of piloting such an unthinkably complex piece of machinery, while not passing out. And then doing it while telling jokes and laughing. That's certified badass.
@@smeech5177 so the cockpit with all the stuff inside it weighs considerably more than the tail of the jet ,makes sense .all the the tech for tracking ,targeting controls for the the jet itself plus the ejector seat with pilot not to mention the front gun and ammo ,when flying you have to keep the nose up ,plus speed plays a part ,too slow and you lose altitude is like it falls out the sky ,a stall sends the plane spinning, falling out of control until you slam on the afterburner to get you up again

@@justing42 Sorry man but you’re wrong. By breathing hard and forcing your lungs to be full, you push the blood out your abdomen. G pants only get the blood from the legs. Valsalva manoeuvre pushes it up the abdomen and into the chest. Breathing like that is essential to the technique. G pants alone only get you to about 6G.
Fun fact: one of the rare occasions when it's GOOD to have moderately high blood pressure is when pulling Gs - it actually gives you an edge in G tolerance. Unfortunately it also raises your risk of stroke.

There’s a reason why they’re still the best, since it’s one of the few branches of the US military(BUDS being the other) that simply doesn’t and WON’T abide by the woke lefts demands. They tried that experiment back in the 90’s when they streamlined female F-14 Tomcat fighter pilots, in which one completely unqualified trainee killed herself(and nearly her RIO) on a botched carrier landing. While these guys/girls are doing some of the most intense training in the air, sim, ground school or hangar 12-14hrs per day, the woke Navy, Marines and Army, are focusing on gender pronouns, critical race theory, and diversity training, so they can effectively apologize and hug, the “misunderstood” enemy in combat! 😂
From my limited flight experience I can tell you that there is a significant difference between the experience between the pilot in control and the passenger. The same can be said for driving fast/twisty roads in a car. The driver never feels sick because they're in control and are braced for what is happening. This guy did amazing for what he experienced...mostly due to his own aircraft experience but also to the fact he more or less knew what was coming and was probably stoked to have the opportunity/privilege to experience what this aircraft is capable of.

I would’ve loved a F-16 flight to Sicily! Actually… anywhere, would’ve been fine with me.
The engineering that goes into these planes is nothing short of amazing... There is a tremendous amount of force put on where the wings meet the body of the plane when they are banking at like 500 knots....
The pilot is talking casually mid pull like he's flying the plane remotely from another country, meanwhile you in the back can barely breath or keep consciousness. F'in legends, both of you!
His breathing technique is deep immediate breaths and tightening up of the body to keep the blood flowing to the brain so there is no lack of consciousness

But don’t bring your girl around
😂
Yeah, OK, but I would buy him his own beer.
“Yeah! Buddy”
“Few more dinosaurs to burn” “yeaaah baby” love that XD
"Few more dinosaurs to burn"
Absolutely the best afterburner joke and so American at the same time. You are officially my favorite pilot
The demo flights are the baddest! I used to just drop everything and watch the F-15's do them. Watching the vapor off the wings and the JP venting out the tips, you just know the G's they're pulling are something fierce.
F/16 Pilot: I’ll make you go unconscious with all my maneuvering!
C-130 Pilot: Thats nothing; I can put you to sleep flying straight and level.
😂😂😂🤣🤣
😂👍🏻
Hahaha, best comment.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I never realized how much authority the leading edges have in flight in an F16, super cool to see. Your friend was eating G like a bauce.

Man I would have passed out so hard.....
He was rocking the hick maneuver 😆
Bauce sounds like sauce

It still amazes me how they can fight the g force and still operate the jet with such precision
It's called; go-fast pants
@@RiDankulous Yes, the are wearing G-Suits. Only time you will see a US Tactical jet without G-Suits is the Blue Angels.
Its similar being a passenger vs driving a car which makes it a lot easier to anticipate and handle hard turns or brakes.

@@tomwest8663 yup . Numbers ... Numbers... It is so hard.
Yeh man some heavy class top gun shit !
Love the way the wind resistance flows over the flaps when he's pulling the birds nose up in the air after a free fall dive and roll
They get high like cocain does to there brain .
Don’t forget with most Jets you have to pull 30-40 pounds up of force to keep the Jet leveled. Insane!
Thank you both for your service. I’m amazed how the pilots in these videos are just chatting while the back seat is struggling to hang on to reality. Even with a g suit it’s gotta be hard
"Here's some Gs!"
Literally watching the guy's head change colors as the blood drains out of it...
Thats why u need to breathe like that
You can’t help but breathe like that....the g suit keeps the blood upstairs not breathing
@@justing42 g suit makes tolerance for 5G
@@justing42 Sorry man but you’re wrong. By breathing hard and forcing your lungs to be full, you push the blood out your abdomen. G pants only get the blood from the legs. Valsalva manoeuvre pushes it up the abdomen and into the chest. Breathing like that is essential to the technique. G pants alone only get you to about 6G.
That’s probably why he flips upside down regularly to get blood back to his head fast to recover
Fun fact: one of the rare occasions when it's GOOD to have moderately high blood pressure is when pulling Gs - it actually gives you an edge in G tolerance. Unfortunately it also raises your risk of stroke.
Not true, due to a shift of the cerebral auto regulation curve in chronic hypertension
You threw all the Gs and moves at him, and he absolutely *tanked* it!

I love technical pilot talk.😅
It’s pretty simple really 😂
My dad was a pilot in the RAF during the Cold War, flying small VIP transports. Once on a wives trip, one of the got concerned about the stream of fuel leaking from one of the engines. The response that came back was simply, “don’t worry about it, it’s when it stops that you should start worrying.”
“Flappin’” is the technical term! 😆

Watching those wingtips flutter from the g-stress really makes you appreciate how well these planes are made and the beating they can endure. Never really thought about that before until I watched this. Great vid.
Why it happens exactly? It looks like the airflow changes over the wings. Is it related to air density?
I would give anything to fly in a F-16, especially with that pilot. Awesome, totally awesome.
That pilot wears that plane like a second skin. Absolutely amazing and the passenger handled that like a champ.
Wow, I really admire the mental, emotional and physical strength it takes to pilot these jets. The mastery of smooth maneuvers and the knowledge it takes to carry them out. Especially in battle. Thank you for serving and showing me what an honor it is to be a pilot for our armed forces.

Explains why i get nauseous in a car as a passenger especially on an empty stomach but driving myself have no issues whatsoever.

@@gregbuck701 well the F-16 is artificially limited to 9 Gs by the flight controls. Any harder and you would be killing pilots left and right. The airframe could theoretically pull a lot more if it didn’t have a pilot in it. That said the wing spars and other structural supports will eventually wear out. Even after a 9 g flight the airframe has to get inspected for cracks and warping due to the stresses
