If your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It's better to get rid of one part, then your whole body to burn in hell. Jesus spoke in parables and stories to tell us how to live. If your iphone causes you to sin, then get rid of it. The tongue is like a sword and cuts deep. Stay away from gossipers. It's all in the bible. Change your playmates and your playground! The best thing I did for my life is read through the entire Bible. I learned more than all the sermons I ever attended growing up. Wish I did it as a young person/teenager!!

Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. So many young people need to hear this verse and no one preached on this to me growing up. I found this verse on my own in the bible as an adult and was angry no one preaches on this verse. It's one thing to say don't do this. It's another to read the living word that explains how the issues of life can weigh your heart down. Boundaries

Praise God! This is such a good word and as a a psych major I have seen so many parallels of what the word of God tells us to do to give us a renewed/transformed mind to what the world has convoluted and watered down to fit into science and medical terms. In a way it is amazing how much God's word will always prove to be. right and hold weight throughout our lives.

4:30 --- "You still have a degenerate heart that is going to try and lead you astray.... Before you follow your heart, you must inform your heart. Before you do what your heart says, you must tell it where to go and fill it with the right things."

When do you plan your path? (31:45)
Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways [Proverbs 4:26]
"When do you set aside time to fill your heart with the things of God, that your quiet time isn't just a method of obedience, but a means to survival. That you would start your day reflecting upon the things of God, not just so that you're doing what you're supposed to do and you can tell your small group something, but so that you can resist the enemy's attack by reflecting on what is true so that you know where to go and you set the destination on the right place. When do you plan your path?"

1.) Who are you listening to?
      2.) What are you saying?
      3.) Where are you looking?
4.) When do you plan your path?
      5.) Why do you stray?

So in the Biblical usethe heart is the source of your thinking. So guard the source of your thinking. Perhaps the most obvious way to do that is to scrutinise what you let into it, as Pokluda says. And that includes primarily what you believe, and the desires your encourage in yourself, and your acceptance and following of means of thinking - those ways of thought you agree with yourself are correct. Be very vigilant in watching all these things, is the basic message here, because everything flows from it.
If anything personal deserves prayer, this is one of them.

There are many other ways the enemy gets in, even when you guard your heart from this sermons messages, social media, shows, porn, et. There are generational curses, word curses and a lot of other things over your life that can harm your Spirit and soul and your children’s as well. Jesus saves and delivers. Rebuke the enemy in all the anxiety, satanic influences and “negative noise” in the name of Jesus and pray for the Holy Spirit to enter in as these demons and devils leave you. Do this out loud as many times a day as you need, in Jesus’ name. Start to only speak Holy Spirit power over your life and others.

So i have a thought that i would love to talk about in the comments... I feel that what this means is to be set apart in a very real way from our culture, even more so than most of my friends and other people whom i know. Cutting off every form of entertainment that could have bad things in it (movies with swearing, sex, etc...) seems important. Now If i say this to certain Christian friends or perhaps even my pastor they will warn me to also be careful not to be legalistic about it and so ive taken that and used it as an excuse not to cut off all things that are impure (im not blaming this on them- the blame falls on me for my choices) it says in the Psalms "i will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless". I struggle with being fully and wholeheartedly committed to that though, especially when most other christians around me arent wholeheartedly committed to it. The scripture says "a double minded man is unstable in all his ways" and i dont want to be double minded.. but there's this whole legalism thing that people keep talking about and im confused.
