I'm at the end of my Welding Technology certification at trade school and Printreading for Welders is the textbook we've been given for the blueprint reading portion. It's tough because we aren't given any lectures or presentations, exercises etc. We are just given the book, a login id for the online tests, and a computer. I just found this video and subscribed. Thank you!!
Also, when you are describing the tig welding? I wish you would have specified that it can be done 2 ways instead of just fusion. Filler rod additives are used while tig welding just as much or even more when that weld process is used. Especially with pipe welding. You can’t even pipe weld without filler rod if you are doing tig. Yes stick is also a method for pipe welding but so is tig and if you are just explaining that it’s fusion you are completely misinforming people. I’m afraid that that wasn’t the only error I caught and I’ve only been self teaching for about 9 months. I try not to spread information until I sure of it because I don’t want to misinform others.
Hello everyone, aside from this video, would anyone know of a good book that I can purchase to learn how to read blueprints? I’m as rookie as they come. I’ve been searching Amazon and Google but I have not come across someone in the field that can point me towards the right direction. Thank you.
It was a video done for a class for the blueprint side, for architecture students in a different department. They only wanted the general info side. Sorry!

This is an excellent thorough explanation of the welding symbol basics. Very clear.
I cringed when you called the stinger a “clip thingy” 😫😫😫
The big words started to scare me but then the fun pictures started.

Can’t hear you at full volume. Re record this and take off that silly mask. Which don’t even work. Please talk louder too!
